Letting Go

The Ferris Wheel

Chapter 27 – Letting Go

“Because I love you…”

At only four words of Yoona, Yuri felt her heart was beating rapidly inside, pounding violently against her ribcage, threatening to jump out of her chest in any second. This great impact… this overwhelming feeling inside… was away all the air around her that Yuri found it hard to breath. She was dreaming, wasn’t she? Can someone please tel-

“I love you, Yuri-yah…” Yoona repeated once again in a louder, steadier voice this time.

A tense silence surrounded the three of them.

One was waiting anxiously for some kind of reactions came from the person she needed.

One was still in denial. The truth was right there but it was too much for her to take. Too sudden, too surreal…

The only one left… she wasn’t talking not because she was moved, touched or anything, she was just stunned. In her mind, Yoona’s words weren’t something to listen to or something to believe in but they were something that needed to be aware of.

Then, a sound pulled them out of this nerve-wrecking silence.

Tiffany snorted.

People always said that there shouldn’t be a third party presented at a romantic confession of a couple. Either that person approved or disapproved, he or she was there only to ruin the perfect moment. In this case, much worse… that person was nowhere near the ‘approving’ side of this relationship.

“Love? Did you just say that you love my best friend?” She said in disbelief.

Yoona held back a sigh, she had expected this kind of reaction from Tiffany already. “Yes… I do…”

Tiffany let out a sarcastic laugh, “Then you surely have a unique way to show your feelings to the one you love, Yoona-sshi.”

“Tiffany… please listen to m-”

“No!” Tiffany snapped, “You don’t have a right to ask for a chance for explaining. You have already had that chance, three years ago, but you blew it up, big time. Really, I don’t know what’s going on in your head anymore, Yoona-sshi. You slept with another girl… on your wedding bed… on your wedding night and what worse is that when Yuri caught you, you don’t even bother to run after her and explain. And then what? Three years later, out of nowhere you just reappear in her life and claim that you love her? Are you frigging serious?”

Yoona looked at the person who was boiling with anger in front of her. Her mind was trying its best to work out something that she could say to protest but nothing came out. Tiffany was right… right all along. She did have a chance but she didn’t grab it, she didn’t want to grab it then. Was it too late to regret now?

“I… I didn’t mea-”

“What? You didn’t mean to do this to her? Is that the best you can come up with?”

Yoona stayed silent. She couldn’t say anything not because she admitted what Tiffany was right. Yoona didn’t say anything because she realize what she was about to say was wrong… completely wrong. She did mean to do this to Yuri. She hurt Yuri, broke her heart… on purpose. What else can she say as an excuse right now? That she only did that for revenge? Yeah, right… that was such a smart move if she wanted to receive a slap on the face came from Tiffany.

Tiffany took a deep breath in, probably she was trying to calm herself down, “Yoona-sshi…” She suddenly lowered her voice. The sudden change in her tone surprised not only Yoona but also Yuri who was still lost in her thought the whole time. “Don’t you think… you’re being too cruel to my best friend?”

Cruel? Yoona just couldn’t understand what Tiffany was trying to say. When did the phrase ‘loving’ Yuri turn into ‘being cruel’ to her? She just simply told the one she loved what she truly felt. Why did Tiffany make her felt like she was doing the wrong thing?

“You can’t just say that you love someone so freely like that. To you, maybe these words are just a meaningless phrase that you can say to those brainless girls out there just for fun. But to Yuri, these words mean a commitment that you have to stay true to your feelings when you said it which I doubt a person who could sleep with someone else right after you exchanged vow at the wedding like you will ever be able to understand. Holding on to Yuri, going on and on saying that you love her but then end up breaking her heart into pieces, will you ever stop toying with my best friend’s heart like that, Yoona-sshi?”

“I’m not toying with her heart. I mean what I said. I do love her.” Yoona was trying her best to say with all the sincerity that she could muster. But somehow, Yoona felt that at this moment, only sincerity wasn’t enough. Still not enough. Could someone, anyone tell her what she could do to show Tiffany that she was truly, deeply in love with her best friend?

“Fine…” Tiffany nodded, “If you love my best friend like what you said. Let her go… that’s how you show me that you do feel something for her. Too much has been said, too much has been done already, letting go… is the only solution.” She then turned to her friend who was standing motionless behind her. “Let’s go Yuri-yah.”

Tiffany pulled Yuri by the hand, in attempt to get out of this room only to find the latter wasn’t moving, even it was just a small step, no matter how hard she pulled. What was Yuri thinking? Tiffany could feel that Yuri wasn’t holding on to her hand tightly. Her best friend didn’t want to go. It was almost like Yuri wanted to run to the person standing in front of her at full speed. This wasn’t good. Tiffany had a very bad feeling that if she didn’t pull Yuri out of the room soon, this hopeless-in-love girl would let down all the walls she built and make the same big mistake like three years ago.

With all of her might, Tiffany tried hard to pull Yuri once again. “Yuri-yah… we have to go now…” Fortunately, Tiffany let out a relieved breath when Yuri finally moved from her spot. Without further ado, she hurriedly pulled her best friend out of the room.

Yoona was left standing alone in the break area.

Tiffany’s words were still ringing in her head.

Letting Yuri go… was how she proved that she loved her?

&&&&&&

Yuri’s office

Tiffany forcefully pulled Yuri to sit on the executive chair in her room. Once she did, Tiffany quickly placed both of her hands on the armrest on either sides of Yuri, trapping her.

Staring right into Yuri’s eyes, with a serious look on her face, Tiffany said, “Kwon Yuri! Promise me that you’re gonna answer me truthfully what I’m about to ask you.”

“Wh-what is it?”

“Promise me first.” Tiffany firmly said.

“I promise, okay?” Yuri said in a defeated tone.

“What happened last night? Why weren’t you home in the morning? Were you with Yoona? She wasn’t home last night either. What did you do with her? And don’t you dare tell me that it’s just a coincidence that you guys weren’t home last night and late for work today. Don’t tell me that you just stayed at the hotel because you were just drunk like you told me in the morning either.”

Yuri heaved a heavy sigh. It looked like she couldn’t hide this from Tiffany any longer.

“Fine… I admit…” A deep breath in, “ …we kind of… had last night.” She said as small as possible.

“Oh god…” Tiffany couldn’t help but blurt out these words in English to show how shocked she was right now. She had expected Yuri to say that they kissed, made out since they were both drunk or something but was a whole new different matter. This was all her fault. If only she didn’t go on a date with Taeyeon last night and went on that party instead, none of this would happen. “…we as in?” Even when Tiffany was quite sure who the ‘we’ were here, she still wanted to hear the confirmation from Yuri.

“Who else?” Yuri asked back. Wasn’t that too obvious already? Did she really have to say it herself?

“We as in…?” Tiffany ignored her friend’s question and repeated hers. She was that desperate.

Yuri gave a sigh in defeat. “Me and Yoona…”

As soon as the name Yoona left Yuri’s mouth, Tiffany swung her arms in the air for the drama effect and turned away from the latter, “No wonder…” Now Tiffany knew where Yoona got the nerve to say those words after she had promised her to stay away. All because of her best friend. This silly tanned girl dropped her guard down first.

“But that’s not important right now.” Shaking those thoughts off her head, Tiffany walked back to Yuri in order to continue her investigation.

She got back into her previous position, trapping Yuri again, “Alright! Next question.”

Tiffany closed her eyes, silently praying that Yuri’s answer wouldn’t be the same as her guess. For once in her life, Tiffany didn’t want to understand her best friend that much. “Do you believe in what that betrayer said just moments ago even it was just for one second? Tell me!”

Yuri knew this was coming. However, even if she knew about this situation beforehand, she just couldn’t have a clear answer for her friend.

“I… I don’t know…” Yuri stuttered, unsure.

“It’s your feelings. How can you not know? Do you or do you not?” Tiffany wouldn’t stop until she got the answer she wanted.

“I don’t know, okay? Even if you asked me for a thousand times more, there’s only one answer. I don’t know.” Yuri snapped. Tiffany had never acted like this to her before, her friend was always patient, waiting for Yuri to open up to her.

“You don’t know… or you don’t want to tell me?” Tiffany softened her voice as she questioned. How could she not understand her best friend? This gullible friend of her would easily believe in anything that Im Yoona said as long as that girl claimed that it was the truth. The only reason why she said she didn’t know because she was afraid of her reaction.

“You believed her, didn’t you?” Tiffany asked. That statement came out as a question while in fact it was an affirmation. It was the truth.

Yuri dropped her head. What else could she do when her head was still in the process of contemplating whether Yoona was telling the truth or not, her heart had already taken one step ahead of making a decision to believe in whatever Yoona told her? The moment Yuri looked into those beautiful round eyes of Yoona, then she felt the sincerity in her voice, she knew that her mind had to stopped working and let this strong feeling inside take her to wherever it wanted to.

“Yuri-yah…” Tiffany kneeled down so that she could look into Yuri’s eyes without telling her to look up. “Listen to me… you have to listen to me this time, Yuri-yah…”

“Sincerity, faith, love… these words don’t exist in Im Yoona’s dictionary. Did she say she love you when she asked you to be her girlfriend? Did she say she love you when she asked you to marry her? Yes, she did. So what? She was still able to sleep with another girl on your weeding day as if there were nothing happened between you guys before. Her words… aren’t reliable, Yuri-yah. You should know that better more than anyone else.” Tiffany was trying her best to pull her best friend back. She had promised herself she wouldn’t let Yoona hurt her best friend again. She wouldn’t let history repeat this time. That image of Yuri must be deleted from her memory.

Flashback – Three years ago

About five blocks away from their house

Holding an umbrella in her hand, literally running down the street, Tiffany kept looking back and forth searching for her friend who just called her, asking her to pick her up at this place.

“Aishh… where is she?” Tiffany wondered to herself. It was raining heavily outside so she was really worried where her best friend might go. The rain was sort of blinding her vision so Tiffany decided to park her car and walk down the street so search for her friend.

The moment she heard Yuri’s shaky voice over the phone, telling her she was now in Korea, Tiffany simply thought that Yuri was pulling a prank on her. At this point, Yuri was supposed to have a happy honeymoon with Yoona, the girl whose face Tiffany hadn’t gotten to know yet. Then suddenly, she got a phone call from Yuri, telling her to pick her up because the taxi had broken down, the driver had no choice but to drop her here.

Worried, Tiffany pulled out her phone, trying to contact her best friend once again just to hear an automatic voice came on. Yuri’s phone was off.

“Aishh… I’m going crazy because of you, Yuri-yah!”

Tiffany stuffed the phone back into her pocket. There was no one could understand how worried she was right now. She knew there must be something happened to her best friend judging from her muffled voice and Yuri was driving her insane because of all the assumptions were running through her head.

Then, a familiar figure from afar caught her attention. With her suitcase beside, her friend was standing in the pouring rain, her eyes closed. For a moment, Tiffany thought that her eyes were playing tricks on her due to the heavy rain that kept pouring down non-stop. But no, that figure who was soaking wet from head to toes was just standing there, unmoving for as long as Tiffany needed to make sure that she was actually Yuri.

“Yuri-yah!” Tiffany called out to her friend.

That figure slowly turned around and Tiffany knew that she was right all long. It was Yuri. Her best friend.

“Yah! Are you out of your mind? Standing in the rain like that. You’re gonna get serious sick when you get home.” Tiffany yelled as soon as she reached her friend. She was holding the umbrella above Yuri, protecting her from the heavy rain even though Tiffany herself was getting wet since the umbrella wasn’t big enough for both of them to fit in.

“You should’ve found somewhere to hide from the rain. Aigoo, look at you...” Tiffany continued her mother-like scold. She took Yuri’s freezing hand in hers in hope that could warm her friend up somehow.

“I just thought… this rain might help…” Yuri said in a small voice. Right now, she just wanted to forget everything. A crazy idea popped into her head and this rain and its coldness were perfect for her intention.

“Help you what? Help you to commit suicide?” Tiffany then placed her hand on the tanned girl’s cheek and forehead to feel her temperature. Strangely enough, despite her cold hands and face, Yuri’s cheeks were really warm. Was this… “Yuri-yah, have you been crying?”

“Fany-ah…”

“Yuri-yah, are you okay?” Did Tiffany say that she was really worried when she couldn’t find Yuri? Well, that was nothing compared to how worried she was when she actually find this soaking wet Yuri now.

“Yoona…”

Right, her… that girl. It must be her.

Yuri wrapped her arms around her best friend, hugging her close. At this moment, she needed to know that there was still someone who cared for her. On the other hand, Tiffany was almost shivering in the freezing cold because of the sudden hug from Yuri. Her wet clothes, her wet hair, her cold hands, everything was just… cold.

“I… I hate her, Fany-ah... ”

Then Tiffany felt the only warmth came from Yuri was running down her back. Now she knew for sure why Yuri’s cheeks were the only spot on her body that was warm. All because of her hot tears.

Wrapping her arms around her friend, Tiffany gently tapped on her back before saying, “Let’s go home first… I’ll get you a cup of tea to warm you up.”

End of Flashback

And now, here she was looking at her best friend who was about to go down that same road again. Tiffany didn’t want to see in another three days, she would receive a phone call from Yuri saying that she was happily going on a date with Yoona and then another next three days she would see Yuri standing in the rain with tears running down her cheeks like three years ago, heartbroken.

The sound of Tiffany’s phone ringing broke the silence that had never been presented between these two best friends. Tiffany pulled her phone out to quickly shut it off after looking at the caller ID. However, as quick as Tiffany made it looked like. Yuri still managed to take a look at the screen to know who the caller was.

“Why don’t you pick it up? It was… Taeyeon.” Yuri asked out of curiosity.

“I’m sure that she only called to ask me to have lunch with her. But right now… you need me more than she does.”

Yuri once again couldn’t lift her head up. She knew that all that Tiffany was doing was only to protect her. But for once in her life, she didn’t want to be protected. Kwon Yuri wasn’t in her right mind anymore and that information wasn’t even new.

“This morning… Gyuri came to our office again. She was looking for you… but you weren’t here. So she asked me to give you this box of chocolates she brought along.” Tiffany suddenly changed the topic caused her friend to look up in surprise.

“Why-”

Tiffany cut Yuri off before she could finish her question, “Give yourself a chance, Yuri-yah. When you open your heart, you’ll realize there’re hundreds of people out there who are so much better than her.”

The answer was already formed in her head. Yuri didn’t want to open her heart. She knew she wasn’t ready. But the thing was: she didn’t want to throw a blunt ‘no’ right into her best friend’s face after everything Tiffany had done for her.

“I need some air…” After almost five minutes staying silent, Yuri finally said. Then she stood up from her seat and got out of the room, ignoring the heavy sigh came from her best friend from behind.

On her way out of the office, Yuri threw a quick glance at Jessica’s desk. It was a habit that she developed ever since she knew that Jessica was her sister. Then, she spotted a small pink note was stuck on Jessica’s computer screen. Couldn’t help but feeling curious, the helpless sister carefully approached the desk in order to take a closer look at the piece of paper.

Yoong~~

I left the sandwiches on your desk. And… Sooyoung was here. I think you’ll know what I mean, right? Guess I’ll be late tonight so don’t stay up and wait for me, okay?

PS: My cell ran out of battery so don’t worry if you can’t contact me.

Yuri broke a small smile when she saw Sooyoung’s name on the note. This shikshin… came back from LA, didn’t even bother to make one simple phone call to her best friend here when she had already taken Jessica out twice.

Sometimes, Yuri was afraid that she wasn’t able to do well what her father asked her to. It was already hard enough to take care of her own life which was technically a mess at this moment, and now she had to look out for Jessica too. That was the sole reason why she was so thankful to Sooyoung, Yuri believed that her shikshin friend would take good care of her sister when she was with her. Probably much better than she did.

“Sooyoung-ah… I guess I own you a dinner treat now.”

&&&&&&

YoonSicTae’s house

Yoona threw herself exhausted on the couch and then rested her head on the back rest. The rest of the day at work was a complete disaster to her. Just a few simple clicks of her mouse in an absent minded moment, the report she had been trying to work for almost two days had been deleted from her computer and there was no hope to recover it. Next, she had been receiving Seohyun’s nagging for the rest of the day for accidentally putting the contract the latter just signed with an important partner into the paper shredder which resulted in the whole staff had to gather around to pick out piece by piece of the contract from the trash can and then glue it together again.

If Yoona had a list of the worst days of the year, today must be on top of the list.

And this wasn’t the end.

Ding dong ~~~

Yoona lifted her head up at the sound of her doorbell ringing. Glancing at the clock nearby, she guessed it must be Taeyeon coming home. Tiredly pushed herself up, Yoona came to open the door. Much to her surprise, the person who was ringing the doorbell was…

“Gyul…” Yoona addressed the person in front of her with a not-so-bright expression.

“What’s up with that face? Am I coming at the wrong time?” Gyuri asked.

“Ah, no… just bad day at work. Come in…” Yoona moved out of the doorway so that Gyuri could get in.

“So… what brings you here?” Yoona asked when they both settled in their seat.

“Well, not much. Just want to pass by your house, it has been a long time since we hang out. And also, I have something to give you.” Gyuri said as she dug in her bag, pulled out a piece of paper and then hand it to Yoona.

Now that Yoona could take a closer look at the paper, she realized that this was actually a check, a one-million wons check. “This is…”

“My debt to you… thought that I need to start working on it now.”

Yoona was in awe, wondering how Gyuri could have such a big amount of money in such a short time. “But, it was only less than a month. How can-”

Gyuri cut in, “Well, I guess… working a few jobs at the same time might help.” She added with a shrug.

“You really don’t have to. I’m not rushing you or anything.” Yoona said, definitely feeling bad when Gyuri had to work herself out in order to pay for her debt.

“Eyy… it’s something I have to do. Oh, and I’m hungry now. Do you have some kimchi or something?” Gyuri quickly steered the conversation to another direction.

Getting the hint that Gyuri didn’t want to talk about it anymore, Yoona also followed along. “Stay here… join us for dinner. Taeyeon is gonna be home in no time. I’ll cook you my spicy chicken stew. Taeng said that I’m really good at it.” She then pushed Gyuri to her kitchen as the two of them prepared the dinner together.

Wasn’t Yoona supposed to feel happy when Gyuri was paying her debt gradually like this? She could tell that there was an insecure feeling forming inside of her. Why was this? Almost like… she was afraid that Gyuri was about to take something which was much more important than the twenty millions wons she borrowed.

YulTi’s house

“I’m home…” Yuri said as she pushed the door to their house opened. In contrast to Yoona who stayed at work after ‘their talk’, Yuri took the rest of the day off. Truth to be told, she was scared. Not Yoona… but her own feelings. She was afraid of the scene which suddenly, Yoona pulled her to somewhere that there were only the two of them and said those words to her. Without Tiffany, Yuri knew for sure that her stupid heart would tell her to do some crazy things that she wouldn’t dare to imagine.

“Hey yo, Yul! Come on in, do you know how long I have been waiting for you?” A cheerful voice greeted her as if she was the owner of the house.

“So-sooyoung-ah…” Yuri stuttered, completely surprised that Sooyoung was in her house.

Looking at Yuri’s reaction, Sooyoung put a goofy grin on her face, “Why… so happy to see me that you’re speechless now?”

“Why are you here?” Yuri raised her tone in astonishment.

Sooyoung furrowed her eyebrows, “What’s wrong with my friends these days? Why do they always greet me with this question?” The tall girl complained in annoyance. As coincident as it might sound, Jessica also greeted her with the same question.

“No… I didn’t mean it like that.” The same excuse also, “Aren’t you supposed to be with Jessica right now?”

“Why does Sooyoung have to be with her?” Now, it wasn’t Sooyoung but Tiffany was also confused because of Yuri’s question.

“Yeah, right. I admit that I really miss her right now but it’s not like I have to stick to her all the time like that. It might be a burden to her, you know?” Sooyoung said even though there was no one asking her to explain.

Tiffany rolled her eyes. She never thought that this shikshin friend of her could be head over heels in love like this. When Yuri hadn’t come home yet, Tiffany had to listen to Sooyoung’s everlasting praises of the goddess she met in LA. The eye-smile girl almost jumped for joy when she saw Yuri walking through the front door, saving her from this situation.

“But the note said…”

“What note?” Sooyoung asked, dumbfounded.

“So… you aren’t with Jessica…”

“No, I haven’t seen her since last night I dropped her off at her house.”

Yuri was more than confused right now. Why did Jessica have to lie that she was with Sooyoung? Whatever the reason was, right now Yuri only knew that she was really worried because of her sister unknown whereabouts. Maybe Yuri was overdoing it a little bit but… for a first timer sister, this kind of reaction from Yuri was totally comprehensible.

“This isn’t good… I have to call Yo-” Yuri stopped as she remembered what kind of situation Yoona and her were in right now. She then turned to Tiffany, “Fany-ah… call Taeyeon… ask her the place where the three of them usually go. I need to know where Jessica is.

&&&&&&

Oasis Bar

Sooyoung and Yuri were trying their best to find the person they have been looking for the last hour in this crowd. This was the third bar they had gone to according to Taeyeon’s recommendation. Judging from the note Jessica left behind, it looked like she didn’t want anyone to go look for her as she went so Yuri had to make up an excuse for both Taeyeon and Tiffany that Jessica kept an important work file of Yuri and she needed it now.

About Sooyoung, well, she insisted on tagging along and Yuri had no choice but to allow. She said that she could spot her goddess from afar so she could be a great help for their search.

Another five minutes into their search, Sooyoung finally said, “Yah… Yuri-yah! Isn’t that girl was Jessica?” She poked Yuri from her side as she spotted a familiar blonde head at a corner of the dance floor.

Yuri turned to the direction of Sooyoung’s pointed finger, “That’s her. The same clothes she wore this morning. Really, you’re the best, Sooyoung-ah.”

“Of course, I am Choi Sooyoung, remember?” Sooyoung said with a proud smile on her face.

Ignoring Sooyoung’s overly conceited reaction, Yuri tried to push through the crowd to get to her sister first. It looked like she was really drunk judging from her unsteady posture.

When Yuri and Sooyoung were about twenty steps away from their target, an unknown retard from nowhere suddenly jumped out, looking like he was trying to start a conversation with Jessica who showed absolutely no interest in him.

Sooyoung’s eyes immediately filled with anger when she saw his filthy hand grabbed her goddess delicate wrist. He was trying to pull her to go with him while her goddess was trying to use all of her strength to shake his hand off. Who gave him the right to touch her goddess? There was only one person in this world was allowed to pull Jessica Jung away and that person was Choi Sooyoung. Choi Sooyoung only.

Sooyoung clenched her teeth, balled her fist and cracked her knuckles. She was more than ready to give that retard a proper beat up. Today must be his ‘lucky’ day that he chose to mess with her goddess right in front of her eyes.

As Sooyoung hastily pushed her way through the crowd just to find that there was someone who was already one step ahead of her, striking a punch right into that man’s face caused him to fall to the ground with a loud thud.

“This is what you get for not letting her hand go.” Yuri angrily said when she saw the man lying on the ground, hugging his face. She quickly took Jessica’s hands in hers and pulled her out of the bar.

“Woah…” Sooyoung, on the other hand, was still in awe about what happened. This was the first time she saw Yuri hitting someone. The first time she saw Yuri this angry. She never knew Yuri could be this strong.

Once Sooyoung recovered from her shock, she hastily followed the two girls out of the bar, not forget to add another kick in the stomach for the man who was still lying on the ground.

“Yah! Let go! Kwon Yuri, let me go!” Jessica continuously yelled, trying to get out of Yuri’s grasp.

Jessica swung her arm high in the air as her attempt to shake Yuri’s hand off. Much to her satisfaction, Yuri finally let go of her hand. For a person who was drunk, the fact that Jessica had to use all of her strength like that caused her to lose her balance and about to fall once Yuri let go. Luckily, Sooyoung was there to support her weight from behind by wrapping her arms around her waist.

“Why do you have to get yourself wasted that like this, huh? Don’t you know that alcohol is bad for your health?” Yuri asked with her loud tone.

“Why do you have to care? It’s my life.” Jessica said in a rude manner. She pushed Sooyoung’s hand off her waist while trying to turn around in attempt to go to that bar again.

Ignoring Jessica’s reaction, Yuri took a few steps toward her and grabbed her wrist. “Forget it, I’ll get you home.” Yuri said in a softer voice.

Once again, Jessica shook her hand off Yuri’s grasp. “Kwon Yuri-sshi, don’t you find yourself extremely annoying sometimes? I don’t need anyone to get me home. Especially not you.” She raised her voice back at Yuri.

“Jessie…” Sooyoung didn’t know what to say. The atmosphere between Yuri and Jessica was overly intense. What was wrong with this day? Why was everyone acting so angry today?

Taking a deep breath in, Yuri closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down. What happened in the bar before was getting on her nerve. And now it was Jessica’s rude behavior. The fact that she knew she was Jessica’s sister wasn’t helping either.

“Come on, you’re just too drunk, Sica-yah. Let me help you.” Yuri used her softest tone to advise her sister.

“I repeat: I don’t want your help. I’ll get myself wasted for as long as I wanted. My life. My choice. That’s why you should stay the hell out of it.” Jessica still used her loud voice and rude tone to talk back to Yuri regardless of the latter’s effort of having a conversation with her.

And Yuri reached her limit.

She once again grabbed Jessica’s wrist and dragged her toward the direction of her car, completely ignored the furiousness in Jessica’s voice from before.

“I won’t let you do whatever you want to. I want you home right now and you’re not allowed to go to this bar drinking ever again. And my word is final.” Yuri was talking to Jessica not as friend to a friend anymore, she was talking to Jessica as her sister, her family.

And who was Jessica to let Yuri drag her away like this? She could shake Yuri’s hand off of her once. She could do it again. And she did.

“Your word is final? Who the hell do you think you are? You’re not even my friend. Let me remind you Yuri-sshi, you’re just my co-worker. Only my co-worker.”

“I’m not only your co-worker.”

“Then what? Stranger? Because that is what you are in my eyes.”

“I’m your sister.”

Chapter 37: Ah, my SooSic!!! Sooyoung is sooooooo cute and precious <3 lol at Taeyeon who played prank to someone she barely knew, but I sense good comical relationship between her and Sooyoung in the future :p

Anw, Sooyoung is hella attractive when she's serious like that. Her sincerity and genuineness totally can make someone fall for her if they see the full aspect of Choi Sooyoung (you getting there, Sica?). She's quite talkative but also a good listener. When she thought about Jessica's feeling over the break up before her own feeling, I swooned. lol
It's also good to see Jessica opened up about her family thing to someone. Also for her to tell this all to Sooyoung, it showed she started to trust her even more.
Sooyoung's sacrifices didn't go to waste haha
