I Must Win!

Honesty

Moonbyul POV:

"One day, I heard the leaves falling

Then I saw my empty heart

I just felt the time that passed
So quickly

Like the falling leaves
I lived my life that way

I lived like a fool
I lived like a fool
Like a fool, like a fool"

That voice... why do I feel like crying?

Quickly, I made my way to my first class. Well, more like I was quickly dragged there. Wheein, my best friend, gripped my sleeves tightly as we were running. "Unnie! Hurry up! We're going to be late again!" Before I could even respond, she lightly slapped my arm with her free hand.

I chuckled at her antics. "I would probably be able to go faster, but it seems that you love me so much that you can't let go!" I playfully winked towards her.

Wheein just rolled her eyes, but you could see the hint of a small smile on her face. "Yah! Unnie, stop being so greasy, it's making me sick."

"If it's making you sick, then why are you smiling?" I raised an eyebrow and smirked.

"Yah! Just shut up!" Again, she slapped my arm. This time it was a bit harder. But, I didn't mind. It was like this everyday.

Third Person POV:

Just in time, Wheein and Moonbyul made it into class. The bell rung seconds after they arrived in their seats. Moonbyul was about to take out her materials, but was distracted by a sudden announcement.

"Class, please welcome your new transfer student." Ms. Woo smiled as her voice echoed in the room, "Make sure to treat her well, as I do not want to hear any complaints from her parents. Normally, I would not have to remind you of this, but last time, things did not end up so well. Let's not have a repeat, okay?"

Everyone in class just nodded. We all understood what she meant. Last time a transfer student came, she was bullied by the girls for not being "pretty," and pushed around by the guys who thought of her as a slave. Moonbyul did not remember the girl's name, but she remembered her being a nice girl. It was such a shame that she had to move.

As Moonbyul was stuck in her thoughts, a sweet voice brought her back to reality, "Hello, my name is Kim Yongsun, but you can call me Solar. I hope to get along with you all!" Yongsun then made a quick, but graceful, bow and then grinned. Moonbyul couldn't help but get lost in her smile. It was really pretty and bright. It lit up the classroom like the sun lit sky.

"Thank you, Ms. Kim. You can sit next to Ms. Moon." Ms. Woo pointed to the empty seat next to Byul. Yongsun nodded and made her way to the seat.

As soon as she sat down, she could hear the murmurs of the students. "Solar-ssi? That's a really cute nickname." "Woah, the new girl is so pretty!" "Did you see the way she walks? She could totally be a model!" Yongsun was used to this. Everytime she transfered schools, people would make comments about how "beautiful" and "perfect" she was. Due to her looks, many guys have confessed to her, but she politely declined them all. Yongsun could only hope that the swooning over her would quickly die down.

One person was unusually quiet. Wheein was quick to notice this. Byul wasn't one to always talk in class, but whenever Wheein asked something, she was sure to reply. So, when Wheein spoke and got no kind of reaction, she knew something was up. Wheein poked Byul with a pencil and whipsered, "Unnie? Pssst, can you hear me?" Though, it was no use. Moonbyul didn't even flinch when Wheein flicked the back of her head. Wheein was confused at why Byul wasn't responding in any way, but soon realized why.

Moonbyul was not paying attention to anything but Yongsun. She was completely entranced by the girl. Usually, she didn't pay any mind to a new student, but for some reason, she couldn't help but stare. To Byul, the girl was practically glowing. Thankfully, Yongsun was not paying attention to Byul, otherwise she might've found it creepy that she was watching her every action. The way she blew her long, beautiful brown hair when it got in the way, the way her eyes twinkled like stars, the way her angelic voice sounded -- Moonbyul loved it all. Of course, Byul thought of it as simply admiring the girl.

Wheein, noticing Byul's behavior, wanted to mess with her Unnie. So, when Ms. Woo asked the class a question, she thought the gods must've been on her side.

"Does anybody want to volunteer to read the passage? Otherwise, I'll just pick someone randomly."

"Moonbyul would like to read!" Wheein answered almost instantly.

Ms. Woo was taken aback by the quick answer, but didn't question the fact the Wheein had answered for Byul, "Ok, please read the passage Ms. Moon."

Byul, finally escaping her trance with the mention of her name, looked up to see what was going on. A few awkward seconds passed. "Ms. Moon, would you please read it now." Ms. Woo gave her a stern look.

Byul felt herself geting red as she realized what was happening. Before she could say anything else, she heard a soft whisper. "Page 36." Hurriedly, Byul turned to the page and read the passage. She fumbled the beginning, but quickly got a hold of herself. When she sat back down, she could hear Wheein snicker. Moonbyul was normally not a shy person, like she was being today. So, Wheein was really enjoying seeing her unnie act this way.

"Hey, unnie, could it be..... you're acting like a sweet, timid girl to get someone's attention?!" Wheein tried her best to stifle her laughter, "Who must this person be?"

A light pink blush slowly appeared on Byul's cheeks. She was about to turn around and smack Wheein and that stupid grin of her's, but the same voice that had told her the page number had caught her attention. "Your voice is really pretty."

Byul turned to the direction of the sound, and was surprised to see that Yongsun was the one who said that. Though, Yongsun couldn't possibly have been talking about Moonbyul's voice? Right? Byul pointed to herself and quietly asked, "Are you talking about me?"

Yongsun nodded and smiled her bright smile. Byul stared at her in disbelief. She couldn't believe that a girl with the voice of an angel was saying that her voice was pretty. Byul tried to say something with her usual grease, but her words wouldn't come out. She tilted her head confused about why she couldn't say anything. Amused by her reaction, Yongsun slyly added, "You're also really cute."

With that statement, Byul could feel the herself getting more red. She felt really embarassed, but also somewhat attacked. She was used to being the person on the other end, the person complimenting and being cheesy. So, she felt the need to "get back" at Yongsun.

After a minute or so, Byul had composed herself and was ready. "Me? Cute? Are you actually talking about yourself?"

Instead of answering the question, Yongsun decided to say something else and grinned. "Look who finally decided to speak up."

"I would've said something a long time ago, but I was lost in your beauty."

"Lost in my beauty? Couldn't you be more original?" Well, that's what Yongsun said, but you could tell she was bashful.

"I was just saying what was on my mind, princess," Byul let out a small smirk, "And, my mind just so happened to be on you."

"I don--"

The bell for lunch buzzed aloud, and Moonbyul quickly stood up, but before she could leave, she said one more thing, "By the way, the mole under your eyebrow, I think it's really cute."

A/N: I hope you guys liked this first chapter! Sorry if the transitions between parts are a bit weird/awkward. I have a lot of story ideas but am not exactly the best at moving things along. I'll try to improve as I write this story >.<
