On the way to school SinB was frowning. Sowon and Eunha saw it but didn’t know why the girl was in such a weird mood, she was all excited and happy when she greeted them in the morning and now she was clearly bothered by something.

“Everything’s alright?” asked Eunha slowly and SinB looked up at her.

Seeing that Eunha and Sowon seemed worried SinB smiled.

“Yeah yeah it’s okay.” she said reassuring them, they entered the school and Yuju was sitting alone on a bench looking at her phone.

The girls continued and reached their buildings. “See you for lunch.” smiled SinB and the girls nodded.

SinB entered her classroom and sat before taking her stuff out. The teacher arrived and started the lesson but SinB was thinking bout Yerin. She was wondering why she was seeing Joy so soon, what they were talking about… what they were doing… SinB felt hurt and sad.

She felt rejected. SinB wondered why it was hurting so much, why it was physically hurting to think about Yerin with Joy.

“You’re jealous.” she told herself but she shook her head. She couldn’t be jealous, it wasn’t like she was in love with Yerin or anything.

SinB remembered being jealous to see Yuju with Jackson, but right now it was different… So different. SinB felt tears coming to her eyes and wanted to stop thinking about that so she focused on her exercises. She wanted to forget about it.

SinB’s class ended earlier and she went to their table first. Sowon and Eunha arrived as soon as their class ended and SinB looked around to see if Yerin was here, she said they would meet after their morning classes.

She took out her phone again she re-read Yerin’s message from the morning and felt mad again but she swallowed it and typed a new message. “We are at our usual table ;)” she sent to Yerin.

Maybe it was jealousy, friendship jealousy. SinB was close friends with Yerin, they went through a lot with their friendship and SinB was scared that Joy would steal away Yerin from her.

Yerin started opening up to SinB and now what if Yerin got back close to Joy and opened to her instead of SinB. SinB felt bad for thinking this, it wasn’t like Yerin was hers, but they were close.

“You okay?” asked Sowon and SinB looked up at her. “What’s wrong?” she insisted as she was now knowing the girl quite well and could see something wasn’t right.

“Nothing.” said SinB faking a smile again to reassure her friends.

“Don’t lie SinB.” answered Sowon. “Talk.”

SinB shook her shoulders. “I don’t know, I don’t know what’s wrong I just… urgg!” said SinB sighing now.

“Did something happen?” asked now Eunha.

SinB sighed again. “Yerin’s ex is back.”

“What?” asked Eunha surprise while Sowon arched an eyebrow and smirked.

“So our little SinB is jealous, that explain all the frustration.” said Sowon lightly.

“I’m not jealous.” said SinB frowning. “It’s not like that with Yerin, I’m just worried about her.”

Sowon stared at SinB. “Are you really worried about her or jealous Yerin may get back with her ex?”

“I’m not jealous.” said again SinB. “It’s just that this girl is… she’s pretty and also y, she’s so fine seriously it’s unbelievable… kinda too good to be true and she came back like nothing happened, like she didn’t hurt Yerin before, and broke her heart… I don’t want Yerin to suffer again because of her…” explained SinB.

Sowon nodded. “Do you know that girl?” she asked and SinB shook her head no. “Then you can’t know or judge, if you get to know her, you will be able to see her real intentions.” said Sowon and SinB looked down. “Or maybe you just want Yerin for yourself and want this girl to be bad for Yerin…” insisted Sowon once again.

SinB frowned again. “I told you it’s not like that with Yerin!” answered back SinB a little mad now.

They stayed silent for a moment. “I was jealous of Jackson before but with Joy it’s different…” tried to explain SinB. “I… I just, I just want her to go back from where she came.” finally said SinB. “I’m just so mad that she appeared again especially when everything was going so well, like everything was perfect…” then she sighed again “Yerin ..she...sigh… I’m sure she still loves her…”

Sowon nodded. “If they get back together then you should be happy for her.” said Sowon now. “Like Yerin would be happy to get back with the girl she likes don’t you think?”

SinB started crying now. Sowon was surprised and felt guilty to push SinB like that. “Sorry.”

Eunha took SinB’s hand in hers. “Don’t listen to this stupid giraffe.” she smiled to SinB who nodded. “We will spy on that girl and see if she’s good or bad for Yerin okay?” proposed Eunha and SinB nodded.

“Yeah.” she said before sniffing. “I just want to protect Yerin.”

“I know.” said Eunha patting SinB’s back now.

It was time to go back to class so SinB brushed her tears away and tried to stop thinking about that, they would find a plan to make sure Yerin wouldn’t be hurt and it made SinB feel better.

At the end of the day they all meet at SinB’s house, Umji wasn’t here yet as her class finished later so SinB took Sowon and Eunha in her room and they sat on the bed.

“So what’s the plan?” asked SinB curious.

“We could invite Yerin and Joy to try to get to know her and ask her some questions?” proposed Sowon.

“Yeah let’s do that.” agreed Eunha.

SinB took her phone out and still didn’t have any messages from Yerin.

“What do I say? it will be weird to just invite them…” said SinB hesitating now.

“You could say we want to know Joy better?” said Eunha.

“That since she’s back we can hang out and show her our favorite places, she left some time ago, there’s interesting stuff she probably forgot about here?” added Sowon and SinB nodded.

“Hey, how your talk with Joy went this morning? Is everything okay? you didn’t answer me at lunch… :(  Anyway, we were thinking with the girls about hanging out altogether and show Joy some cool places in town… she probably didn’t find back all her old friends yet… what do you think?” wrote SinB but she hesitated to send it.

“What are you waiting for?” asked Eunha.

“Well I don’t want to bother Yerin… it must be weird for her to have Joy back in her life suddenly…” said SinB now. “She didn’t even messaged me today except the one message from this morning…”

“So what? maybe she didn’t see it.” said Sowon.

“Or maybe she doesn't care about me and rather be with Joy.” said SinB sadly.

“You’re so negative.” said Eunha rolling her eyes. “Of course Yerin care about you.”

“You should have seen her when she saw Joy the other day, it was like I didn’t exist anymore…” said SinB sadly.

“You’re such a drama queen SinB!” said Sowon shaking her head. “If you don’t fight for Yerin don’t come crying if you lose her.” she said and SinB glared at her.

They were about to argue now but Umji arrived.

“It’s been such a long day…” said the girl jumping on the bed between the girls and lying there. She saw all the girls silent. “What?” she asked them.

“Nothing.” said SinB and Sowon arched an eyebrow at her again.

“Are you eating with us tonight?” asked Umji to Sowon and Eunha who shook their head.

“Nope we can’t tonight, plus it’s better for you to spend some time with SinB’s parents.” explained Sowon. “Talking about that we will leave now.”

They stood up and Umji sat down in the bed. “See you tomorrow.”

“See you tomorrow.” answered Eunha before the girls left.

“Wanna go out before my parents arrive?” asked SinB and Umji seemed surprised.

“Why not? where do you want to go?”

“I don’t know just walking in town I need fresh air.” said SinB and Umji nodded.

They went out and walked together, the weather is getting hot now and even if it was late the air was still warm. They passed in front of the cinema and a shopping center, they went to a coffee shop and sat outside, ordering iced coffee.

As they were drinking in silence, SinB’s eyes caught a familiar silhouette walking in the street. It was Yerin she was walking beside Joy. SinB stared at them they were clearly doing some shopping as Joy was carrying some shopping bag on her arm.

Yerin took Joy hands in hers and pointed to another shop. They smiled at each other and seemed happy. SinB swallowed hard, Joy was wearing the vest she bought to Yerin the day before.

Umji saw that SinB was looking away and followed her gaze and saw Yerin.

“Isn’t that Yerin over there?” asked Umji and SinB nodded, her eyes not leaving the two girls.

They were still standing in front of the shop looking through the window and pointing at clothes, laughing. Joy put her arm on Yerin’s arm and caressed it slowly.

SinB frowned and stood up.

“Let go home.” she said suddenly and Umji looked at Yerin before following SinB.

“What is it?” asked Umji after a long moment of silence. They kept walking and SinB was still silent. “It’s about Yerin?”

SinB swallowed hard and looked away. “I don’t want to talk about it.” she just said as they keep walking to SinB’s house.

As they arrived SinB’s parents were here, they prepared dinner and set the table. The girls changed in comfy clothes, washed their hands and sat at the table. They ate peacefully, SinB was laughing with her parents and enjoying this time with them but her mood changed as they were alone in SinB’s room.

Without a word SinB went into the bed and lay on her back looking at the ceiling.

“Good night.” said Umji once she got comfortable in the bed and turned her back to SinB to sleep.

“I’m not jealous.” repeated SinB to herself as she couldn’t sleep. “I just don’t like them together…”

SinB couldn’t stop thinking about it, she hated the thought of Yerin with Joy, she hated to think that they were back together, that they would... kiss… that they would… touch… SinB wanted to be with Yerin, she wanted to hug her and take Joy away from their life. SinB wanted everything to be back to normal. She just wanted things to be about her and Yerin.

She didn’t want anyone between them again. First Yuju now Joy… What if Joy asked Yerin to choose between her and SinB… SinB shivered at the thought.

All she wanted was… it was Yerin. SinB wanted to dance with her, laugh with her, hang out with her… “Sowon is right, I want her for myself only…” thought SinB.

So maybe she was actually jealous, her bond with Yerin was so strong now, they were just so connected, they shared so much, SinB grew so attached to Yerin that the thought of losing her was unbearable for her.

Everything about Yerin was just so intense much more than anything she felt for Yuju before…

Not that she loves Yerin more than Yuju, or maybe she does. SinB sat up in her bed.

“Omg, I love her…” she said out loud before looking at Umji beside her hoping she didn’t wake up the girl but Umji was still slowly snoring.

SinB lay back in bed. “I love her…” she repeated in a whisper.
