Last time...

Gun in position, we moved as one, ready to take whatever, or whoever it was on. But we weren't expecting this. I wasn't expecting him.

'Yoongi?'

I couldn't believe my eyes. At the mention of his name, he turned his head to face us, eyes widening when looking at me. He slowly rose to his feet, speechless.

"Avri?" He spoke softly, barely above a whisper. Tears started to rise and I tried everything I could to keep them down. I nodded in response, not able to say anything at this moment. At that, he walked towards me and pulled me into a hug. Surprised, it took me a minute to realize what was happening. I hugged him back, my fingers grasping into the back of his jacket. I burrowed my head into his shoulder, not knowing what else to do. After a minute, he pulled back, realizing that we weren't the only ones in the room.

"How did you find this place?" He suddenly asked, wanting to try to bring everyone else into the conversation as well. 

"We just followed the road. The real question is, who are you?" My father piped, interested in who this man in front of him was. 

"My name is Min Yoongi. I uh- am a friend of Avri's. We went to middle school together." He explained, sheepish in front of my father. As if checking to make sure, my father turned his head to look at me, wanting to confirm what he was saying. I nodded and at that my father sighed.

"What a small world," He mumbled, under his breath. Before anyone else could say anything, other figures ran into the room, paranoid. 

"Yoongi! We heard-" One of them started, stopping when laying his eyes upon my group. 

"Who are these people?" Another one of them questioned, not seeming so keen on the idea of strangers. Can't say I blame him.

"They are friends. I know a few of them from back in the day." He explained to the three. They seemed unmoved in their opinion of trusting us. 

"Only a few? What about the rest of them? Why should we trust them?" The last one continued. I turned to look at the group behind me and realized that we couldn't go anywhere else at the moment. We are tired, hungry, and hurt. The last thing we need is a confrontation with these guys. 

"Listen," I started, trying to catch the attention of the three. "We promise that the last thing we want to do is to make you all uncomfortable. We just drove hours to get away from somewhere and all we wanted to do was get some rest. If you let us, we will be out of your hair as soon as we can be." I compromised, hoping that this was the least they could do.

"I don't know," The first one spoke. "How do we know you won't try to kill us and take our stuff?" He went on, doubt clouding his mind.

"Just look at us," Jimin piped. "Do we really look like the type of people to do that? If need be - take our guns. Like she said, we just need some rest and we will be out of your way." He added on, hoping that he could at least reach one of them. The three glanced between each other and eventually came to an understanding.

"Fine, you can stay. But on one condition," The second proposed. We waited for him to finish, my stomach tied with nerves. "You can keep your guns, we don't care about that. We want to check if any of you are bit. It looks like some of you are covered in blood. The last thing we need is one of you turning on us." Taken back, I looked back at the rest of the group, knowing that this was our best chance. 

"Okay. Deal." I agreed, and with that they started to check us. They were worried at first when they saw my wound but after confirming it was a gunshot wound, they left me be. I watched as they searched the rest of our group. We lost many girls yesterday. Out of the 20 girls in that room, only 10 of us made it out, including the ones in our group. I knew the other girls pretty well. Jennie, Dahyun, and Wendy are their names. They all pretty much kept to themselves but I was thankful that at least they could make it with us.

I sat down in the corner of the store, exhausted. I sighed heavily, not realizing that someone else had joined my side. I opened my eyes to see Yoongi sitting beside me.

"Crazy huh?" He asked. I looked over at him in confusion. "That of all the times to see you again was when the world was ending." He laughed in disbelief, turning over to look at me. I stayed silent. Realizing this, he changed the topic.

"Sorry about those three. They are just hesitant around others." He explained, motioning over to the men I had no idea about. 

"Makes sense," I said.

"The tall one over there with black hair is Gongchan. I ran into him as soon as it began. We met Youngjae shortly after that, the one with the shorter frame. We found him surrounded by zombies - screaming for help. I don't know how we were able to get him out. And lastly, the one with the silver hair is Chanyeol. He likes to seem tough on the outside but in reality, he cares more than he would like to admit." He pointed each one out as he explained, helping put faces to names. What an interesting group, I thought. Noticing my silence, Yoongi turned to face me, fiddling with his fingers.

"Avri," He started. "I know it's been a long time since what...happened, but I want to say-"

"Don't." I interrupted, not wanting to hear it. "Don't say it."

"What? That I'm sorry? That I screwed up?" He went on, ignoring what I said. "I should have never done that to you. I was younger and stupid. I really regret it Avri. I know we can't go back but I just want you to know that I am sorry." He explained. Familiar tears started to well up once more, at the thought of what had happened. I wiped at my eyes, not wanting to show how much it still affected me. 

"Whatever. What's done is done." I responded, getting up. "I just don't want to hear it." I spoke, sounding harsher than I meant to. 

"Avri-"

"Don't." I stopped him short, walking away before hearing what he had to say. If you haven't guessed it by now, then let me tell you.

Yoongi was my first boyfriend. And it ended in disaster. For his sake more than mine, I won't explain what happened but as happy as I was to see he was alive, I don't want to be near him. 

I sauntered off towards my group, avoiding him as much as could. What I said was true. We are different people now and you know what that means.

Rule Number 4 - People change when the world goes to . 

Whether it be for the better or worst, everyone goes through it. Some people would come out stronger because of the adversity and some would turn on their people, killing them point blank. 

I didn't know who Yoongi was now as the last time I saw him was years ago. I don't know if he changed for the better or worst. 

All I know is that as soon as we are rested up, we were going to leave them alone like we had promised.

At least I hope so.
