Awake

Yoongi woke up to the regular beeping of the machine. He was feeling oddly groggy, struggling to open his eyes. He was feeling cold but still felt something oddly warm in his hand.

He managed to open his eyes, first thing he saw was the white surroundings. Hospital.

He looked around, until his eyes landed on Hoseok's sleeping figure. Hoseok's hand was the warm thing he felt in his hand. Hoseok had leaned his head to the side of bed. Must be uncomfortable. Yoongi lifted his free hand, about to touch Hoseok when he noticed the bandages around his forearms. Then he remembered. He remembered what had happened. Brother disappearing. Locking himself to bathroom and... And cutting. ​​​​​​

A tear escaped from the corner of his eyes to the thought of his brother leaving again. He proceeded on the task of touching Hoseok. Pushing his fingers to his soft hair, gently curling his fingers on them, ever so slightly smiling to himself.

Hoseok's figure started moving, causing Yoongi to take his hand out of the said man's hair, only to move to push a fringe of hair covering his face to the side, for a moment getting a little bit better view of the sleeping boy. Until Hoseok let out a sigh, fluttering his eyes open. He was still for a moment, not aware the boy on the bed was awake. Until Hoseok felt a hand placing it's self to the back of his neck.

He turned his head to see slightly smiling Yoongi looking down to him. But then he noticed the trace of tear. He sat up immediately, worried, causing Yoongi's hand slide away from his neck. "Are you okay?" He asked, now fully facing the other one who still seemed to be smiling. Yoongi nodded and hummed quietly, allowing the silence fall over them.

"What time is it?" Yoongi wondered, not having a phone with him nor having a watch on his wrist obviously. Hoseok took his phone out of the pocket, seeing the time, "7:48 AM." Yoongi nodded.

"How long have I- I been here?" He asked after a moment of silence. He didn't remember coming to hospital nor did he remember how or when he was brought out of the bathroom. Or he had some tiny but blurry parts in his memory but nothing major. Hoseok took a moment to count in his head, "About eleven hours." Yoongi was shocked, eleven hours? So he had been there in bathroom.. Over on hour? "Did you.. Did you find me?" Yoongi asked, his voice cracking in the middle of sentence. And Hoseok nodded, "I came to visit you when you didn't reply to my text messages, thinking you would be sleeping. I came in with the code and when entering your apartment I saw your shoes and all stuff being there so I looked around for you, but I didn't find you. Until I heard some noise coming from the bathroom. I waited for several minutes before I started to worry only to get more worried when I heard muffled sobbing. You mumbled about your brother being away and something like that. In the end I picked up the lock and called for Jin for help and we brought you here," Hoseok tried to explain shortly, failing miserably.

Yoongi was looking down to his lap as he listened Hoseok explaining, he felt so bad. Not only because he was alone again, but also because Hoseok had go see him in that state. "Yoongi, please look at me," Hoseok proposed only to see Yoongi refusing from doing that. He sighed and used his thumb and index finger to lift Yoongi's chin. "Everything is alright now," He comforted the other when he saw few tears rolling down his cheek and went in for hug. Yoongi's arms wrapped around him, holding on to the fabric of his shirt like to prevent Hoseok from pulling away.

But their sweet moment did not last long when there was a knock on the door right before it was pushed open, revealing a nurse and Jin trailing right behind her. "Oh, good morning, you are awake," The nurse spoke. "How are you feeling?" She continued as she made her way towards the bed, directing her question to Yoongi. Yoongi just shrugged his shoulders and replied a short "Alright." The nurse nodded before spoke with her cheerful voice again, "You may leave soon, after the wounds are checked. The doctor does not see a reason to keep you here longer because you are not danger for yourself or anyone else." A danger for yourself or anyone else, he wanted to laugh for that sentence, but it would be inappropriate in that situation, so he only nodded.

The nurse soon left, leaving the three of them alone in a awkward silence. "So, how are you?" Jin broke the silence by asking. Yoongi just shrugged, he was as good as he could at hospital. The silence continued again just to be broken by Yoongi this time. "Jin hyung.." He started mumbling, "Please don't tell anyone about this." Jin nodded with a very small smile, "Of course I won't if you say so."

That made Yoongi relieved and be at ease with the two other by then. Finally it was time for Yoongi to leave after getting his wounds checked and him being instructed about how to be with them - what to do and what not to do, and when come back to hospital. Hoseok had private talk with doctor since he had told them he was the closest person he had in his life. The doctor had told him to keep an eye on Yoongi, just to be sure he was not danger for himself and would not do something stupid.

And so they left. Jin gave them a ride to Yoongi's apartment but wasn't able to stay for long since he had some errands to run.
