Where can she be?
Jar of secretsAs I opened the door, I came upon Vicky sitting on the couch watching Mickey Mouse on the television with her favorite blanket protecting her from the cold.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping, miss?" I asked her as I laid Alice on the floor.
"I woke up and since you weren't there, I came here to wait for you. Who is she?" she asked with her curious eyes on Alice.
"This is Alice. She's going to spend some time with us." I lied to her.
"Hi. I am Victoria, but you can call me Vicky." she introduced herself politely after turning off the TV.
Alice was a bit afraid, but she still smiled at Vicky, who continued with the same curious look.
"Vicky, it's time for us all to go to bed. Go to my room and Alice and I will catch up with you." I said and she ran out of the room leaving us alone.
I led Alice toward the bathroom and opened the door letting her in.
"You can shower while I'll get you some clothes." I left quickly and went to Annie's room. I opened the closet door and pulled out a long shirt Alice would wear as her pajamas. When I returned to my room, Vicky was already sleeping and Alice was sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for me.
"Here." As she dressed, I went to take a shower and finally relax my aching muscles because of the fight.
I stopped in front of the mirror and watched my reflection. My gray eyes were red from lack of sleep and my makeup was completely blurred by the mud puddle in which I'd fallen during the fight. Then my face was completely dirty and had a few scratches, but the dirt and scratches on my face didn't equal the condition of my body below the shoulders. The dress, which had previously crept to the floor and was the same color as the top of Vicky's dress, stood a little above my knees and was no longer so blue. It was a mixture of navy blue, mud brown and blood red that was as much of my aggressor as mine. My knees were shaved and the cut on my arm was still bleeding. When I touched my hair, I felt something damp and when I looked at my fingers I could see that I had a cut on the head.
How am I going to school in this state tomorrow?
I got rid of the dress full of blood and went into the shower. As I felt the warm water touching my skin, my muscles relaxed instantly and a feeling of relief flooded through my body. The water that disappeared down the drain was red because of the blood and while I passed the shower gel on my body, I also took the makeup off my face.
When I got out of the shower, I felt clean and relaxed and I was no longer bleeding from any of my cuts. After putting on my pajamas and taking care of my injuries, I left the bathroom and found Alice in the same position I left her, but this time she was dressed.
"Are you sleepless?" I asked her, who was staring at me with eyes glittering.
Is that tears on in her eyes?
"Why did you help me? Because of me, you're hurt now." she asked.
"Do you really think I would leave you there alone? I have to protect you for now on since they aren't here. It's always been like this." I explained and crouched down to stay about the same height as her.
"Always?" she repeated.
"What were you doing alone on the street? Especially at night?" I asked in the end.
"I was leaving school when Jun Seob showed up and said I have to go with him. I started to run and got on the first bus that appeared. I got off at the last stop and walked aimlessly until he appeared again. I ran again and the rest you know." She finished counting.
"Do you know how to get home?" I asked.
"No." She bit her lip so she wouldn't cry. She had this habit from Jimin.
"Tomorrow Vicky and I have to go to school and you're staying with our maid. We'll talk better tomorrow and we'll find a way to get you home. Now we'd better get some sleep because it's already one in the morning." I said and she nodded.
The bed was large enough for the three of us and there was still space left.
"I still don't know your name!" Alice's voice said in the dark. I was on one end and she was on the other one because I thought it was better for Vicky to be in the middle since she was the youngest.
"Mina."
"How do you know my father and my uncles?" she asked in a sleepy voice.
"It's ..." I yawn. "A long story, maybe I'll tell it another day." and I fell asleep.
"Come in!" A male voice said quietly. I opened my eyes and analyzed the environment. I was in a room that wasn't mine, but that gave me some peace. The bedroom had a huge double bed in the middle with a few open books spread out and an open laptop, next to it was a bedside table with a lamp on it. There was still a door I figured to give to the bathroom, a monstrous closet, a desk with books on top, and a bookcase full of books I recognized to be of history and anatomy. A man comes out of the bathroom and when I could see his face, I held my breath. When our eyes met, even indirectly, I felt a huge urge to run to embrace him.
Hoseok!
The only word that echoed in my head was the name of the man, who for nearly two years I considered a father and a close friend. I felt a tear trickle down my cheek, I couldn't contain the joy that grew inside of me to see him.
He has changed almost nothing in those months that I have been and still remained separate from them.
His eyes are
