It's not like I'm getting married, dad.
Jar of secretsOne month later
"They're almost done." I told to my father and Jaebeom who were so nervous that they were about to scratch their nails. My father didn't even look like a man in his early forties in his wedding gown that had a snow-white rose gracing his jacket pocket unlike Jaebeom who had a rose as red as blood.
Because of our meeting last month, I didn't feel a mixture of fury and fear anymore when I heard Jaebeom's name.
"It's gonna be fine, Annick. I got it." I had possibly repeated for the fifth time.
"Be nice to him." She had been asking that for the last five minutes.
"It's the thousandth time that you repeat. I'm always nice. I've already arrived, I have to turn off. Bye." I had hung up quickly without even giving her a chance to say anything. I put my phone in the pocket of my leather jacket I had bought with Annick and I sat in front of Jaebeom who was waiting for me.
"Good afternoon." I greeted politely. Although I didn't trust him and hold grudge, I still knew how to use the education it was given to me.
"Hello." He had said with a gentle smile." Do you want something to drink or eat?"
"No." I had replied rudely, showing I hadn't wanted to be here.
None of us had uttered a single word for minute and I had used that silence to look into our eyes. I didn't see in his dark eyes that glow which had been present in his gaze since the beginning of our friendship. A glow that I'd decided to ignore because I longed to make new friends. Big part of my mind had alerted me that the disappearance of that glow didn't mean he had forgotten me so I had decided to end the silence and face him directly.
"Where is he?" I had finally asked the question that had been haunting my mind ever since my eyes had met his.
"Who?" He hadn't seemed to know who I was talking about, but it wasn't going to be as easy to fool me as the last time.
"Seughwa, your brother." I had clarified.
"How do you know him? Annick must have told about him to you." I could no longer bear to see him acting as if he were innocent.
"Just stop." My patience had been running out slowly. "Just stop this game. I know very well that you know me and that you and your brother are up to something; but if I discover that Annick is part of that plan, then both of you can consider yourselves as two dead men. I've killed you once, I can do it again." I had threatened him by looking him right in the eyes before getting up.
"Was that a threat?" He had asked, standing in front of me.
"Yes. I hope you don't ignore it." I had said and had tried to get past him, but he had grabbed my arm.
"Can I ask why are you always on the defensive with me?" He had asked.
"Maybe because the last time I trusted you and your brother, I ended up with an almost lethal hemorrhage and full of burn marks that fortunately left no marks. So I have a lot of reasons not to trust you." I had defended myself.
"I don't remember anything you're talking about and I didn't even know about your existence before meeting your sister." He had said with confusion all over his face and my quota of patience had ended at that moment. I grabbed his arm and dragged him into the alley down the street. I'd curled him against a dirty wall and I'd faced him once and for all.
"I'm already sick of you and your lies. I know you're a vampire and I also know you and your brother don't get along with the clan Min."
"Look, I really don't know what you're talking about, but I'm one. I admit it. I've spent the last four years studying History and today I teach in a school." He'd said without giving his typical signs of nervousness. "And I don't know where Seughwa is, he's not even going to be at my wedding. The last time we were together, we argued over a Marie." Marie was my middle name and I used it at the beginning of our friendship out of fear and in fact they only had known me by the name Marie because both had died without knowing my real name. No opened nostrils or repetitive blink. He was telling the truth, but I couldn't quite trust him.
"What about Annick?" I had asked, releasing him and giving him a chance to move.
"She doesn't know anything." He had said.
"You got my question."
"From the first time I saw her, I realized she was special. She looked like a strong-willed woman and I was right. I laughed in the inside because of her face when I ignored her. I followed her everywhere and all I wanted to do was jump over the men who ate her with their eyes." He said with a silly smile.
"I know. Vampires are extremely possessive with the people they mark."
"Exactly. The day we started dating, I swore to myself that I would protect her from everything. Taming that wild beast requires a lot of patience and willpower." He said and I laughed because it was the truth.
The wedding march began and I concentrated on the entrance of the brides.
How many times have I dreamed awake with my marriage when I was hospitalized? How would my honeymoon be like and the most important how the groom would be, although the groom's part had already been resolved.

The ceremony had been breathtaking. Jaebeom and my father were very excited and Han
