“Miss, would you please move aside so we may take the patient to the operating room?”

“He is only a baby! I won’t let you do it!”

“Miss if we do not operate on this child he will die, no doubts about it,” the doctor said sternly

(I took one last look at poor Kyungsan and I started to cry and let the doctors take him away. I sat alone in the waiting room, crying my eyes out as I thought about his tiny body and how weak he already was… Donghae came running in a few minutes later, his hair windswept, his clothes crumpled and his luggage being dragged along as he ran into the waiting room. I looked at his concerned face and I felt my tears come out stronger)

“Yoong…” he only said my name as he held me

(We stayed like that for awhile until I pushed him gently away to dry my eyes)

“Where is Yoogeun?”  

“He-he is at his friends house…”

“And Mr and Mrs Cho?”

“I don’t know… I’ll ask the nurse… Excuse me madam?”

“Yes how may I help you Miss?”

“Cho Kyungsan, the boy inside the operating room, where are his parents?” I asked her

“Mrs Cho brought the patient in and then left and we haven’t heard a word from her or her husband. We thought you knew as you stayed with the patient…” the nurse told me

“No, I came to stay with Kyungsan because Doctor Kim called and asked me to… I thought you guys sent his parents somewhere so you asked me to look after him…”

“Doctor Kim called and asked you to stay? Oh well then perhaps you should ask Doctor Kim when he comes out. The first half of the surgery will be done soon…” she checked her watch

“T-thank you…”  I went back to Donghae and sat in my seat

“Well?”

“They don’t know… I think something happened to them… Oppa, I have this feeling that something happened...”

(We held each other’s hand tightly and waited nervously until the doctor came out from the operating room two hours later)

“Is he alright?!” I stood up demanding

“We have successfully completed the first part of the surgery. Soon we will start the second part,” the doctor removed his mask

“Doctor Kim! I have a question… Why did you ask me to come and stay with Kyungsan? What happened to his parents?” I braced myself for his answer

“I’m afraid to say that the father of the patient passed away in a car accident on his way to see his child here and his wife was so traumatized that she took her life into her own hands…”

(He walked away and returned to the operating room. They closed the doors and the light outside the operating room again. I sat there blankly trying to absorb the information I had just heard. Oppa didn’t say anything either and just closed his eyes. I put my feet up on the chair beside me and hugged my knees)

“Cho Kyungsan will make. Cho Kyungsan can make it,” I kept chanting to myself

(I rested my chin on my knees and silently cried myself until I felt oppa’s hand on my shoulder)

“Let’s be strong, for Kyungsan, OK?” he said with a shaky voice

“For Kyungsan…” I nodded with a small smile as he rubbed my back

“And just remember that no matter what happens, you will always have me OK? I promise you that I will never leave you, I love you Yoong,” he assured me.

“How can you be so sure? What happens if you have a car accident? Or something else? How would you be able to know if you leave me or not?” I asked him in a sad voice

“I promise!”

“Promises can break! Maybe not intentionally but sometimes they just break by themselves!” I pointed out

“I didn’t want to do this here with Kyungsan undergoing surgery and me being all messy from the plane ride… Not the most romantic way to do it but… Im Yoona… Will you marry me?” he showed me a diamond ring inside a velvet box

(I slowly took the ring out of the box and put it on my finger without saying anything. It sparkled even in the dullness of the waiting room. I stared at it.)

“This is my promise to you. My promise that I will never leave you”

(I continued to stare at the ring)

“Yoong? It’s okay if you don’t accept it, I can wait, but I need you to say something so I can-”

“You babo… You already know what I’m going to say. Of COURSE I’ll marry you!” I smiled widely. That being the first happy smile I have been able to show this week.

“I really do love you Yoona…” his eyes showed his seriousness

“I know you do. I love you oppa…” I kissed him

(Then the light outside the operating room switched off with a click and we pulled apart as the doctor came out. We waited for his answer)

“Lee Donghae-ssi, Im Yoona-ssi…,” Doctor Kim said

(We held our breaths)

“The patient is fine. As you can hear I am sure…” he smiled as Kyungsan’s familiar crying started

(Donghae and I thanked the doctor and the other staff with gratitude and then later were able to visit Kyungsan who was sleeping peacefully in his cot)

“Kyungsannie… I am so glad that you made it… You made me worry so much…” I sighed as I stood beside his cot

“Yoong, what should we do about his parents?” oppa asked from where he was sitting on the guest chair

“Well since we are getting married… Maybe we could think about adopting Kyungsannie and Yoogeunnie… I mean it’s just an idea but I don’t feel comfortable letting them being cared for by another family…” I joined him

“Adopt them? Sure, why not?” he smiled

“Oppa I can’t believe that we are going to get married!” I rested my head on his shoulder

“I wasn’t sure about asking you today but everybody kept telling me to do it soon or else she will get bored of you…”

“I could never get bored with you oppa… You always make me smile even when I have no energy to do so…” I tilted my head upwards to kiss his cheek

(He grinned)

“Wait, what did Teacher Lee Soo Man say about us getting married?” I asked him

“At first he said not to do it because of our jobs but then after I talked to him for a long time he said that if we really wanted to then he can allow it. He never released the statement about us dating because he forgot but now he said he won’t and instead he will just let the media find out when it is time for our wedding…”

“Excuse me but the hospital is now closed to visitors,” a nurse told us

“Aren’t we allowed to stay overnight?” I asked her

“Not if the patient you are staying with is only resting…”

“I understand. We will be leaving now~” I bowed to her as me and Donghae left

*In Super Junior’s dorm*

“Oppa I’m tired… I think I cried too much today…” I blinked as my eyes felt dry

“Sleep then Yoongie, I’m going to take a shower…” he took off his shoes

“Yeah I will… Good night oppa!”

“Good night Mrs.Lee,” he teased

“Ya! I'm not Mrs.Lee yet!”

“Fine… Good night the FUTURE Mrs.Lee,” he kissed me lightly before going into the bathroom

(I laughed and I skipped into the bedroom and hummed to myself as I took out my pajamas. I got changed and I went to charge my phone when I saw I had 5 missed calls… All from my members…)

“Yoong! I called you earlier today but you didn’t pick up! How is Kyungsan doing? Is Donghae back yet? Are you okay?” Yuri asked straight away when she picked up

“I’m fine unnie. Oppa came back-”

(I wonder if I should tell her about us getting married…)

“Oh that’s good that he is back! I know he makes you happy. You are happy aren’t you? You better be! Sica is crying her eyes out back here in the dorm,”

“Sica unnie? Why? What happened?” I asked with wide eyes

“What do you think? Sica caught that stupid Ok Taecyeon cheating on her with Suzy and then he laughed at her and dumped her before sticking his tongue back down Suzy’s throat,” Yuri scoffed

“I TOLD unnie to stay away from him! So she is doing really badly?” I sighed

“She hasn’t left her room all day and refuses to eat… Maybe you should come and talk to her…”

“I’ll be there tomorrow… Tell unnie to cheer up and that it isn’t the end of the world that she got dumped by a bastard. Good night Yuri unnie!”

(I switched my phone off and lay back onto the bed. I’m going to teach Ok Taecyeon a lesson… Being a bastard to me, I can handle it. But being a bastard to Jessica unnie or any of my members and he is going to die…)
