Chapter 8: Frozen Heart Beat 

Dug Dug Dug Dug

It's pounding so fast. Why is her heart suddenly beat that rapid? All because of that smiling guy?

She can't hear nor speak. She can't move or even blink. Seems like someone just dumped a bucket of sticky potion on her.

She breath in and out. Inhale and exhale. But nothing happens. She bowed her head and try to listen to their convo

Minseok bowed "Hello, Mr. Seo! It's bugging me to leave this place without cleaning" He shrugged and grin. Hyunho ruffled his hair and complained about the boys' laziness. Minseok only laugh and continue to sweep the floor

"Please, stop this already" Jade mumbled and softly hit her left chest. Hyunho notice this and worriedly tapped her shoulders "Are you alright? You are spacing out" Jade snapped out of it and give her Appa a big smile

"I'm alright, Just hungry" She grinned to make it even more convincing. Minseok notice her and ask in a cautious tone

"Who is she?" Once again, she coudn't understand anything but she is sure that he is talking about her

"Ah, Jaemin and I found her in the cold streets, she said she ran away and we adopted her for a meantime" Hyunho picked up cans. Minseok's left eyebrow rose and look at her

"Tch" He snorted and got back to work.

Hyunho cough and straight up his posture. He scratch his nape "Oh, I haven't introduce you to him yet, I'm sorry dear" He muttered sheepishly

"Jade this is Minseok. He is the oldest member of the group that I'm handling" Although she can hear him talk, she stay rooted in her place.

Awkwardness floated in the air as Jade stood, flushed while Minseok continue his work; picking up cups and confettis

The silence was disturbed when Hyunho's phone rang. He fumbled his phone and answered it. "Hello?" 

"MANAGER-NIM, IS MINSEOK STILL IN THERE?! WE THOUGHT THAT HE IS HERE ALREADY BUT THE BOAZI IS---" Minseok snatch the phone and boringly responded

"That's 'hyung' for you, Xi Luhan. Anyway, Mr. Seo said, He will treat you all later, Yes, Beef"

Dug Dug 

What...?

Hyunho ignorantly flail his arms saying no. Minseok smirk playfully and continued "He said with soju and tteokbokki" Cheers and howls are heard over the phone. Hyunho pinched his nose bridge, grab the phone and walked outside while repeatedly convincing them that Minseok is just joking

As the door closed, Jade's heart, beats more abnormally than before. Minseok sigh and stared at her in a bored way, 

"Mr. Seo doesn't soften that easily. But you..." He trailed off and look at her confuse face. "Ahh, I see that you can't speak in Korean"

He stepped closer and whispered in her ear

"Poor scheme you got there. Tch, Sasaengs"  He move aside, went to the door and slam it making her flinch

Jade stay rooted, heart beat suddenly slowed down a bit

"Okay, what was that? What did I do?" She muttered and punched her chest softly "Why did you suddenly speed up? It's scary"

"Dear Mrs. Dane and Hyerin,

    I miss you guys already! I'm okay here in Earth, if you're asking. A couple let me stay in there house which they called 'Apartment' They are really nice and welcoming. I think I found my new family but I can't help but feel... homesick. Still, I need to find my mates.

   To tell you the truth, I'm kinda weirded out with all this things. Do Human Girls normally wear pants? Worse, torned pants? isn't that strange? Anyway, There are many peculiar food too! Some are too blant, too bright and too earthly. Is there a store that sells Exopian food here? I hope you say yes and lead me the way

    I'm happy for you Hyerin! Finally, you saw your mate! Goodluck on finding the other one! And about your news... It won't happen, I hope so, but don't worry, Hyerin. I'm fine.

    Mrs. Dane! Something weird happen to me. It's about my Exia, Ice suddenly sprouted on my hand last time but now, I can't control it. It's freezing, not because of the chilly weather but I think because of my power. A while ago, I saw my right eye, glowing. Maybe I'll train when I have time like you advice me to do so. " 

Jade fiddled with her pen and think for a moment before continuing

    "Actually, I have something to tell you that's why I wrote this letter. There's this Korean (?) guy that I just met today. He's handsome, charming, cute, gorgeous--"

She stopped and blushed before erasing some overacting words
