First Date
Boxing GlovesIt was mid-April, and Seohyun was beginning to lose hope that she and JungKook would ever do anything together. And that was fine by her. ing fine. Prince Charming was overrated anyway, especially when it seemed a bit too easy to get him. Come on, an attractive guy who just happens to be a boxer and he has a killer smile and he likes her?
Last time she had a Prince Charming, it ended badly.
Seohyun busied herself that afternoon by throwing punches at the speed bag - oh, how she loved the speed bag - and talking to Yuri about how Jinju was when she heard her phone ring with JungKook's ring tone from her bag. Normally, she wouldn't have cared and would have much less answered, but JungKook never called. Something was wrong.
"Um, hello?" She said unsurely, her palm shaking just a little bit even though Yuri assured her that he was probably fine.
"Hey, Seohyun!" He greeted her cheerfully. Well, he wasn't dead.
"Yeah, hey, what's up? You okay?" She asked, exchanging a concerned look in Yuri's general direction.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Go to your house and wear something cute and comfy. You're gonna be walking around a lot. I'll pick you up at 5:30," JungKook commanded, and maybe she melted like chocolate on the inside because it was the first time in a long time that she'd gone on a date.
"Okay, sounds great. I can't wait to see you," Seohyun replied in the most calm and cool manner she could, but she was grinning like an idiot when Yuri met her eyes.
"Yeah? I can't wait to see you, either. I bet you'll be adorable," he complimented her. Seohyun had to cover her cheeks to prevent anyone from seeing the colour rising to her cheeks.
"Oh my god, stop. Yuri's here and you're making me blush. Stop doing that," she told him quietly. JungKook laughed.
"Tell Yuri I said hi! And I'll see you later, bye!" He stated as he ended the call. Seohyun dropped her hand and smiled stupidly at the screen.
"You look a bit frazzled," Yuri remarked with a smirk peeking at her lips. Thank god Seohyun was in a good mood at the moment, because if she wasn't, she would have answered with snide comment about how Seokjin probably makes her blush all the time and it wasn't a big deal.
Instead, she smiled coyly and nodded. "Yeah, well, JungKook is in a rather bouncy mood today. He just told me that we're going somewhere today," Seohyun answered. Yuri had just about the goofiest expression on her face. She opened to say something, but Seohyun rolled her eyes playfully and answered her question before she said it. "Yes, you can help me pick out an outfit, but you have to watch Jinju while I'm gone, got it?"
Soon enough, the two were at Seohyun's house and she was dressed in short overalls, a white t-shirt, and black sneakers. Time was crawling towards 5:30 pm at an entirely too-slow pace and while they both waited for JungKook to arrive, Seohyun demanded that they finish her episode of Scooby-Doo. A minute turned into ten minutes, which turned into half an hour, and Yuri was just as interested in the lame children's cartoon as Seohyun was.
Fortunately, both girls were yanked away from the TV as soon as they heard a knock on the door. Yuri sprinted to answer the door and Seohyun came in a close second, pouting about such a race because JungKook was her date and not Yuri's. However, she strayed a bit behind and hid away from the front door to play with Jinju, knowing Yuri had a few words to say to the boy.
"Hey, Yuri! Nice to see you. Is Seohyun here?" JungKook asked eagerly. If Seohyun wasn't nervous as hell at the moment, she might've made fun of him for seeming so childishly excited for going out with someone like her. It really wasn't supposed to be a big deal, but judging by the way Seohyun anxiously awaited her moments to go out with JungKook and hold his hand maybe and probably laugh at all the stupid jokes they would make, maybe it was somewhat of a big deal.
"Yeah, but first, you have to promise that you'll be super sweet to her and buy her things and hold her close and-"
"Eonni, can you not?" Seohyun laughed, still unable to move from playing with Jinju. The little dog seemed exceptionally happy at the moment, bouncing around and nipping lightly at Seohyun's fingers for attention.
Seohyun heard JungKook chuckle at the statement and she couldn't help but smile. "I can make all of those things a promise to you, Yuri. I'll be good to her," JungKook replied. Seohyun felt herself blushing because goddamn, when did Jeon JungKook - the loser who beat her up, made her cry twice, and busted her knuckle up - become a good ing person?
"Okay, good. But let it be known that if you aren't and you end up like the other who broke Seohyun's heart, I will castrate you and hang you up by your own-"
"Eonni!" Seohyun stopped her, standing up and pushing her away from the door. JungKook's jaw dropped almost comically as he saw her. "Hi, JungKook," she said with a light tone. The boy responded by covering his mouth for a moment, still incredibly fascinated by her presence. "This is the part where you say something, stupid," she giggled softly.
"Wow," he said under his breath after he removed his hand. "I mean, goddamn, Seohyun, you're so gorgeo
