Again
Boxing Gloves"His name's Jeon JungKook. He's an idiot," her friend, Yuri, told her a few hours previous. And Seohyun had no idea what kind of fight she was getting into this time.
He didn't look like much, but then again, none of them ever did. Jet black hair, obvious piercing holes in his ears (3 in each ear), too young to be fighting, his eyes bright and proud to put aside the dark circles from staying up late. He was built well, a few well-earned scars dotting his chest. And he grinned at her, the excitement filling his eyes when he met a well-known star in the boxing world, one of the best. Seohyun wanted to wipe the happy ending right out of his smile.
"Hi, I'm Jeo-"
"I know who you are. Don't waste your breath," Seohyun said. He seemed absolutely dazzled by the scene of darkness in a boxing place under sparkly Seoul.
However, it seemed that she had far misjudged him.
"You were pretty as a brunette. Shame you changed to blonde. You know what they say about blondes," he teased. Seohyun put her hands up in a fighting position.
"What?" She growled.
"They're as dumb as rocks."
She wanted him dead. A pretty face and nothing but stinging words off a ragged voice that was sure to be ripped apart in the hollow interest of boxing. Guys would do this; challenge her to fights and say things to her that they would regret when they were spitting up blood and possibly a few teeth. This was what she trained for. To box, to find weaknesses, to exploit pressure points and up whatever was left.
And it seemed that he knew the same, and he fought in dirtier ways to get there.
The bell rang and her breath was lost on account of his fist in her stomach. She could no longer see, only able to take in the initial pain of the first punch and the absence of any type of order when her face was playfully bounced from one glove to another.
That's when adrenaline kicked in and she forgot to remain calm, forgot to focus, forgot to ing breathe when she threw wild punches and uppercuts and his attacks died down slightly, but none of her punches seemed to be hitting him. Her mind had yet to react to the pounding of the guy's face or the blood on her fists - her own blood - and there he was, staring straight back at her with a ed-up smirk on his face that echoed in the deepest core of his dark, sunken eyes.
In retrospect, she should've taken it easy. Something about this kid made her want to ruin him, though. She shouldn't have been affected by this one - the ing tike at 23 and she was 26 - but her ears were ringing and all she could hear was YongHwa's voice in her ear, whispering sweet butcheries off an accent she used to cherish. "What do you even have going for you? You're not cute anymore, Seo. No one would love you if not me."
An accent she used to trust.
She swung another fist at his face and he retreated like a kicked puppy. At least she wished he would have. Instead, her vision had exploded in her left eye and there was definitely going to be a mark in the morning. She landed an elbow in his gut, but he growled and gritted his teeth and hit back. Pain caught up to her when time was called, and she collapsed. And JungKook smiled at her like the cat that caught the canary.
Seohyun felt her rage ball up in and she couldn't breathe. She could hardly swallow the water from her water bottle. She'd never been so ing frustrated. JungKook glanced at her and gave her a concerned look. "You okay?" He asked curiously.
"Shut up. Just, don't even talk to me-"
"Hey, whoa, chill. That's not a way to deal with things. Just because I beat you, it doesn't mean you can be all pissed. Just get over it and you'll be fine," he replied, blotting the sweat off his forehead.
"You can't do anything right, Seohyun. You're a loss, a waste, a useless space on the Earth."
She heard the words loud and clear, a sensual whisper in her neck by the one and only boy she had ever liked. And that's when her vision blurred red when she looked at JungKook. Or maybe it was tears.
"We'll do it again! Come on, Jeon! Get the back in that ring! We're fighting again!" Seohyun hissed, pushing at his bare chest and leaving a small spot of blood there from her split knuckle. JungKook smiled at her - he ing smiled and she wanted to kill him for it - and took her wrists. "Let go of me! I'll ing break you, Jeon, let me go!" She snarled as she managed to pull her hands away. The corners of his lips fell when his eyes caught her hand.
"Stop, you're blee-"
"What, are you afraid to lose to a girl?" Seohyun seethed, her voice cracking and her
