Ten.
Ex-GirlIt was quiet at the Lee's apartment. Your mother slowly crept out from your bedroom door and shut it as gently as possible. Watching her step, she carefully padded across the apartment in her fluffy unicorn headed slippers; one of the souvenirs you had bought for her from your homecoming. As she almost reached the kitchen to fix something hot to drink, the door to the apartment bursts open and comes in your brother scrambling in. Scaring the daylights out of the poor woman.
"Oh my goodness!" she half shouted.
"Where is she? Where's Joohyun?" He asked his eyes going wild as he looked around the apartment.
"Keep it down" she shushed him "I swear Lee Jooheon if your father was here he would have pinched you by the ears" she huffed and made a motion of pinching him.
"Omma" he whined pushing her hands away "I just got your text. You said Joohyun is here. At home. In the apartment" he stated.
"She is" your mother answered "I just got her in bed" she tutted before continuing on into the kitchen.
"How long has she been here? We were looking for her everywhere. Do you have any idea how worried I was when I found out from Wonho and Minhyuk hyung that she left the restaurant without them" he half whispered clearly furious.
"What did you expect your sister to do. Just stay there and make a fool out of herself?" she pointed out as she filled the kettle with water.
"She could've at least catch a cab" Jooheon muttered.
"From what I heard, she left her purse and handphone in her handbag which may I add that Shin Hoseok was holding it for her" she pointed out "What was she going to use to pay the fare? Her body?" She added crossly as she slam the bag of tea leaves next to the stove before letting out another sigh.
"That's bit too harsh don't you think omma?" He cringed.
"Well punish me for being too emotional about this!" she huffed but then soften "How would you react.. when your one and only daughter comes home with tears running down her cheeks.." she stated blankly.
"Omma" he called standing up to comfort his mother.
"You should've seen her Jooheon. She was an absolute mess. I had to calm her down before she could even tell me a single thing" she sobbed leaning on to your brother.
"Look at it this way. At least she has you now instead of when she was all alone in a foreign place the first time" Jooheon dragged at the end as he look down to your mother in attempt to make it better.
"Your father was right. You really aren't the brightest bulb in the bunch" she stated as she push him out of the way as the kettle whistles.
"Nothing I say is right around here" he muttered coherently shaking his head.
Jooheon stood there as he watched his mother sniffling as she made her tea. He soften and went to give her a backhug.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect her omma" he started "None of us new about the proposal, not even Shownu Hyung... I guess Kihyun wanted to keep it a secret.." He rested his chin on her shoulder rocking her slightly.
"Well at least his mother had the courtesy to apologise.. That I am grateful" your mother revealed.
"Wait what? Mrs Yoo called you?" He gaped.
"More like text is what she did" she huffed taking her phone out of her pocket and showing it to him.
"She said she saw Joohyun tonight and apologises that it wasn't intentional. They had no idea that Joohyun would be at the same restaurant tonight. Then she said that she would like to visit some time if she could" she explained with a childish sneer as she let Jooheon read what's written.
"Huh.. I guess Kihyun hyung isn't the only one that can't let go of our Joohyunnie" Jooheon half smirked.
"Well of course not! Who would want to let go such a prize! Uri ttal is the epitome of perfection and she would've been a perfect daughter in law no doubt about it" she huffed "She doesn't deserve heartbreaks! Especially not from the same darn boy" she wailed.
"Arraso omma. Arraso. Joohyun deserves better. I get it" he chortled at the sight of his mother getting worked up.
"You. Don't laugh at your mother when she's upset" she said pulling his ears.
"Ah ah omma. Stop it! It hurts!" Jooheon whined as he was forced to bend to her level by his ears.
The commotion in the kitchen was getting a bit too loud and chaotic as it echoes through out the apartment, waking you up. With one eye open you squint to the digital clock on your bedside table. It was a quarter to 11 meaning, its only been a couple of hours since you've reached home. Sitting up, you peeled your duvet off and drop your legs to the floor. You look around in your dark bedroom and could make out the lot of used tissues sprewn all over your bed and floor. Combing your
