More Than Infatuation?

Flowers and Ink

Over the course of the next two weeks, Yoongi only saw the handsome florist a total of 5 times. Not that he was counting or anything, no, Yoongi's not that desperate. The first was when he was packing more things into the store and he couldn't help but stare at the florist through the glass while he was supposed to be tattooing clients. He only watched through the window and couldn't help but feel his heart flutter every time Seokjin saw that he was watching and smiled at him. Yoongi would try to hide his glances (more like stares), but he had a feeling that Seokjin saw him and probably thought he was creepy. He's so dumb sometimes! Why is he doing this? He should be working...

The next was a couple days later, when the blond florist came into the shop for the first time. Seokjin looked around and jumped a little when he caught Yoongi's eye, who was watching him curiously. He walked up to the counter, as most of Yoongi's friends normally do and leaned on it to face him. "Your shop is kind of scary." Seokjin said first, with the realization that he didn't even say 'hi' causing the tips of his ears to turn pink. Yoongi smiled and shrugged at what he said.

"It's better to be scary than to be unprofessional." He said looking around the same store with a sense of pride. Yoongi laughed thinking about how nearly all of his clients said the same thing about his shop the first time they stepped into it as well. "I don't want this place to be too comfortable for the clients."

He watched Seokjin's entire face turn a shade of pink and the elder pulled away from the counter and covered his cheeks with his hands unsucessfully. "I-I'm not here as a client!" He said in a semi-panicked voice, making Yoongi just start laughing at how he was acting. He turned around for nearly 20 whole seconds and calmed himself down, and Yoongi couldn't help but smile at him. "Anyway, I think it's missing something in here."

Yoongi cocked an eyebrow at him. "Really?" He leaned on his elbows on the counter and stared up at Seokjin while it was obvious he was thinking hard on it. "And what would that be? Hmm?"

Seokjin tapped his chin while he thought about it and lifted it once he thought of something. "I have no clue." He said completely confidently, making Yoongi smile again because of his weird antics. "I'll think of it later and I'll bring you something in a while, okay?"

"Okay." Yoongi giggled and watched Seokjin as he left with a smile. "I'll see you then."

"Yeah, bye then." Seokjin said before walking out his door and walking to his own store. Yoongi put his head in his hands and couldn't help but laugh. What was it about Seokjin that made him feel this way? Was he actually falling for him? No, he couldn't be, Seokjin's just becoming a friend, that's all. Yoongi's pretty sure that he acted like his when Jimin would be awkward around him. He'll get over this in a couple days, he's sure of it.

A week later, Yoongi started seeing him again. He finally got his sign and was helping put it up. After he closed up shop for the day, Yoongi made sure to look at the sign from the street to see how it looked. 'Beautiful Blooms' was the name of it and Yoongi smiled at how cute it ended up being. There were even neon flowers around the name of the shop and he had a weird sense of being proud of Seokjin for how far he's gotten and how soon he's going to open it up. A couple days later, trucks filled with flowers and plants came by and dropped off nearly every plant in the small shop, and Seokjin was the one who took most of them in so he could put them where he wants. Yoongi tried not to stare this time, but was still caught by Seokjin a couple times. Every single time, his hyung smiled at him like he expected them.

The latest time he's seen the florist, he came into the shop again. Yoongi was busy wrapping up with a client, so almost didn't notice Seokjin. Though once he did see Seokjin, he was hard to miss since he was holding a large plant for no discernible reason. Once the client left, giving Seokjin a completely innappropriate dirty look as he passed, Seokjin came up to the counter Yoongi was standing at and put the big plant on it. "I got you a plant!"

Yoongi stared at it weirdly while Seokjin explained a lot of technical things about it and touched a leaf like it was completely foreign to him. There was a reason he didn't have any plants in the shop in the first place. He really doesn't know the first thing about how to take care of plants. "How often do I have to water it?"

"Every day." Seokjin laughed awkwardly, probably because of Yoongi's random question throwing off his technical plant talk. "Look, I know your shop's not open every day, but-"

"Can it survive without water for two days or will it die that quickly?" Yoongi didn't mean to cut him off, he just gets excited at times. He knows he shouldn't disrespect his hyung since the last time he heard him yell at his friends moving the tables into the shop the first time he met him. Yet, here he goes. Yoongi's such a dummy! Why does he do this to himself?

"It can, but it'll start wilting if it's not watered on an everyday schedule." Seokjin's words were suddenly harsh sounding, and Yoongi felt bad. He knew he was probably going to get scolded, but it never came. Instead, Seokjin kept going with what Yoongi assumes he was going to say before he cut him off. "Which is why I was going to ask for a key to your shop, just so I can make sure that it stays healthy."

Yoongi looked around the counter he was standing at and pulled out some drawers. It didn't take him long to find his spare keys and he held them out to Seokjin. "You keep my present alive, you have free reign of the shop while I'm gone. If you mess with anything, I'll know and I will hurt you."

Seokjin took them and smiled again though it didn't reach his eyes. Yoongi must have pissed him off or something. "Do you want spare keys to mine too? Y'know, just in case?" Seokjin seemed a little bit happier, but Yoongi saw right through it. He nodded in response. Seokjin dug around in his pocket and pulled out a small key ring. "I'm making copies tomorrow, I'll drop them off then, okay?"

"Sure." Yoongi replied, looking around and then sighing since Seokjin had turned around to leave. There was one last thing he had to do. "Oh, and hyung..."

What were you doing Min Yoongi? Why are you doing something like this? Seokjin turned back and came to the other side of the counter when Yoongi motioned him to do so. "What?" He asked, recieving an awkward smile from Yoongi.

Without reason other than to thank Seokjin, Yoongi got on his tip toes and wrapped his arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug. "Thank you for the plant, hyung. I'm sure it'll fit in somewhere in my shop." He thanked whole-heartedly while he gently rubbed Seokjin's tense shoulders and smelled dirt on him with just a hint that there was cologne but it was covered up. Seokjin wrapped his arms around Yoongi's waist and hugged him back and they stayed like that for an amount of time that really shouldn't have been wasted on a hug between two people that couldn't have been called more than aquaintances. Seokjin pulled away first and both of them stood there awkwardly for a moment. "Well, I'm sure you have work to do, hyung. See you later."

"Y-Yeah. See you later." Seokjin said as he started heading out of the shop. Yoongi waved and recieved a small one right back. What was that Min Yoongi? Why did you do that? You can be such an idiot when you want to be. Yoongi had to agree with his inner monologue. He was an idiot for starting to like Seokjin so much.

A day passed and the next time Seokjin came into the shop, Yoongi was in the middle of tattooing a client. He stood awkwardly at the door, and almost left when Yoongi noticed him. "What's up?" He asked after he told his client this would only be a minute. He stood up and met Seokjin at the door with a smile on his face and wiped ink off his hands.

"Oh, I was just giving you the extra keys. I got the copies made earlier and tested them out so you wouldn't have to." Seokjin smiled awkwardly and held them up. "This one is the front door," He held up a green key to signify that, "and this one is the back." He held up the brown one and handed them to Yoongi.

"Thank you, hyung." Yoongi said with a smile, though it was obvious that Seokjin was extra nervous for some reason today. Was it because of the client? He must have been getting dirty looks from him like he did yesterday...

"I should get going, you're in the middle of a thing." Seokjin pointed at the client and started walking out the door before Yoongi stopped him.

"One question." He said, making Seokjin stand in the doorway while he had a hold on his wrist. Yoongi needed to know one last thing before was going to let Seokjin just go like that.

"What?"

"When's your grand opening?" Yoongi asked with a smile, knowing that it had to be soon since Seokjin has been spending weeks getting this all prepared.

"Oh, that? It's in a week. I have some final touches I have to add and then it'll be all finished. Why?" Seokjin wrung his hands together and had a small smile on his face. Yoongi smiled at him happily now that he knows what he wanted to know.

"Oh, I was going to stop by to see how everything turned out and I might buy another plant, who knows." Yoongi smiled but didn't understand why Seokjin was so flustered. "Well, see you soon, hyung. Bye."

"Yeah. Bye, Yoongi." That was the first time Seokjin had said Yoongi's name casually and it made his heart beat a thousand times a minute once he left. This truly when Yoongi realized that he was falling for the blond florist next door, and he felt so stupid for it. He was even awkward in front of a client because of him! What is he getting himself into?

He turned to the client after calming himself down and apologized for the interruption and was about to get to work again when he was caught off guard. "Is that your boyfriend or something?"

Yoongi was sure he visibly blushed, but kept his head down while he was filling in a pale orange for a tiger he was tattooing for his client. "No, he's not." He said, trying to sound as professional as possible.

"Huh, the way you two were acting made it seem that way." Yoongi pressed extra hard while he went over a rib just to get back at his client for his unneeded input on his situation. There was no way in hell that Seokjin would be his boyfriend. He doesn't even know if Seokjin even swings that way and there's no reason he should pry since they barely know each other. He had to wonder though, what would it be like if they did actually start dating..?
