Gary stood expressionless in his dark suit, his eyes unreadable from behind his shades.

A man came up to him and whispered into his ears.

Gary bowed his head lightly at the picture of Ji Hyo, and exited the funeral hall.

“You deserve to know,” he said, handing over a flip-phone to Gary.

“Hello?”

“Oppa?” A voice said, weak and gentle.

That angelic voice... That voice of the love of his life, of the person he thought he had lost.

“Ji Hyo…” he whispered, tears running down his cheeks.

“I’m alive,” she said. “They faked my death for my safety. We wouldn’t be able to meet, until this mission is over. Till then, stay safe.”

Gary nodded, controlling his tears. He doesn’t know how long will this mission take. Maybe a month, maybe a year. Or maybe never. But none of it matters now, as long as she is alive.
