Chapter 26   -   First Day And The Following Days Without Each Other…

   Kibum’s Continuing Life… Minho and Taemins’ Struggles

Point in time:    Paris Arrival…

Kibum’s Situation

Boarding the Plane bound for Paris

Plane taking off and inside, Kibum takes a deep breath and calls on Taeyang about the things that he would like to happen, he says…

Kibum:             Mr. Taeyang, from tomorrow onwards, could you do me a favor of updating me about
                        Minho and Taemin – I want everything in a written format coz I am afraid I might forget as
                        time passes by...

Taeyang:         Yes Bummie... will I let the two guys know about your request…

Kibum:             (shakes his head) No… please… I want them to meet others aside from me – especially 
                        Minho, he has not tried to mingle and accept friends – most of his attentions were 
                        concentrated on, with and to me… It will help him in the future though it is also very sad 
                        for me being separated from him – I am doing this for his own good and for us as well...

Taeyang:         (bows his head) And Taemin..?

Kibum:             (gasps) Oh...Taemin…. Hmmm… He is quite a lot different from Minho, he is rather 
                        earnest and very straightforward – I am actually fascinated by his personality… I think I
                        would not have to worry about Taemin, me not having with his side – this guy can manage,
                        he’s emotional capacity is quite strong compared to that of Minho… But, this is only like a
                        presumption; I really do not know what Taemin is planning…

By the way, Mr. Taeyang – thank you very much for the next many years that you will have to spend and sacrifice your time for me...

Taeyang:         Bummie, don't mention it… You are like a son to me and I am very happy to spend my
                        whole lifetime serving you…

Kibum:             (shakes his head and sighs) Aaaiishshh… Mr. Taeyang, I don’t like hearing the term
                        “serve” it gives me the shiver… you know…

Taeyang:         (smiling) I am sorry Bummie…

Kibum:             It is fine… and on another note, don’t you have plans of settling down with Ms. Joonie…
                        you two should be together by now – married…don’t you think.. and please don't ask me
                        how did I come to know ... I've got sharp observations since I was one plus months...

Taeyang:         (smiles) We are actually thinking about it coz we are not getting any younger….

Kibum:             (chuckles) Oh… Mr. Taeyang, don’t even think that you are still young…my goodness…
                         aaahhh…(leans his head on the head rest)  one of these days, I will arrange your
                         marriage and give you time to be together…. hhmmm… how about staying in my great
                         grand King and Queen’s country… that would be nice…. Right? 

Taeyang:         (smiles) not a bad idea, Bummie… but if that is what you propose… what will happen to
                        you…

Kibum:             (smiles) sure I can manage…. But I want both of you to enjoy your life and after that both 
                        of you… I mean with Ms. Joonie come back … ok? Don't worry about the expenses and 
                        everything... your place to live... just choose from amongst the houses I have... you may
                        have it... but I don't expect you to settle...

I mean live in that place you would choose... as both of you will be staying with me... wherever I may be... like right now... here in Paris... in the next future... I have no idea where the wind takes me... If you plan to have kids... bring them along... I'd love that...

Taeyang:         (bowing earnestly with hands clasped) I am very happy Bummie and thank you so
                        much…. By the way Bummie… your taking over… do you wish to have it in the open …
                        publicly?

Kibum:             (surprised) Oh yeah about that… do you have any idea?

Taeyang:         I do…

So Kibum and Taeyang continuously discuss issues and solutions concerning his upcoming taking over…

The Taking Over…. Kibum

In its first day of arrival in Paris, all of them took a much needed good rest from the long trip.

Then, comes this day, they are all called by JP Owen including Taeyang for a very important meeting. Inside JP Owen’s headquarter’s …

JP Owen:        Good day Bummie… how was your trip?

Kibum:             Fine Papa… Nice to see again (embraces his grandfather)… I miss you so much…(kisses 
                        him on the cheek)…

JP Owen:        (hugs and releases Kibum) goodness… you don’t know how happy I am to see you…
                        Bummie… my dearest child… Bummie… you really look like me… so beautiful…

Kibum:             (sighs) aaaiisshhh… Papa… Don’t start again…. You still look the best…

JP Owen:        (gasps) really? (hugs Kibum so tight) thank you…..(releases and calls on Jessica and 
                        Heehul)… how are you Jessie, my ever lovely sweet daughter and handsome son… 
                        Heechul…

Heechul:          (in a beaming smile, walks excitedly first toward Owen and embraces the latter) Fine too 
                        Dad… It is so good to see you again…

JP Owen:        (smiles) Thank you so much son… I am sure you will have a grand time staying here in
                        Paris…

Heechul:          (releases his embrace and looks at Owen) I am sure about that Dad… (and steps a bit 
                        sideward)…

Jessica:           (walks toward his father, does a greeting kiss and embraces the latter) Hi Daddy… I love
                        you and I miss you… 

JP Owen:        (smiles and caresses Jessica’s back) I know sweetie… you have been very good to me…
                        I am so proud of you… I love you so much my dearest Jessie…

Jessica:           (pouts) but… hhmmpphh… Daddy… I hate you too at the same time…

JP Owen:        (chuckles at her daughter’s childlike behavior) Oh… I miss this pouty face of yours
                        honey… I know …. And I apologize this early…. But let’s head to the conference room
                        shall we…

Jessica:           (lays her head on his father shoulder, wraps her arms around her father’s waist and walks
                        with him) Fine… let’s go then…

JP Owen:        (calls on Bummie) Bummie sweetie… come to Papa… Heechul… stay on our side… I only
                        have two hands … (chuckles)…

Kibum:             Yes Papa…  (does the same as Jessica’s)…

Heechul:          It is fine Papa… I’ve got long arms… you see (goes to the side of Kibum and extends his
                        arms towards JP Owen’s right shoulder)…

They all walk happily chatting to each other leaving while in a few feet distance behind them Kangin - who now looks a bit older - and Taeyang; both speechless, smiling and watching JP Owen having fun with his beloved family…

Kangin:            So how are things going on with you Mr. Taeyang?

Taeyang:         (gasps) call me Taeyang, Mr. Kangin… please…

Kangin:            (smiles) Ok… then… Taeyang…

Taeyang:         (bows) Fine Mr. Kangin… and how are too? your family as well?…

Kangin:            (pats Taeyang’s head) Oh… I am fine... they are all fine… I don’t see them as often as I
                        could but we communicate… you know how it is leaving in Master Owen’s kingdom…

Taeyang:         (smiles) I am happy to hear that… I am hoping I can visit Sir Owen’s place one of these
                        days… oh… (gasps) Mr. Taeyang, which kingdom is it… he has two right?

Kangin:            (smiles) His homeland… but my family helps on his late wife’s family as well… for his 
                        Majesties King and Queen…

Taeyang:         (covers his mouth) Oh…  that is so great… your wife must have been very busy attending
                        to them...

Kangin:            Oh… she is so good too… she sure is fine… but wait about this meeting… I believe 
                        Master Owen had already informed you about what is going to happen… right?

Taeyang:         Yes…

Kangin:            (sighs) … Thinking about it is like – history repeating itself… first Master Owen, Miss
                        Jessica and now Master Kibum… following a legacy can be a burden sometimes… but I
                        think with Master Kibum, I believe it is not a problem he is very much capable…

Taeyang:         (takes a deep breath and exhales) yeah… by the way, Mr. Kangin, dont address him as
                        master, he won't be happy... (smiles) Bummie is fine... he corrected me one time for calling
                        him sir...

(breathes hard) yes...you are right, Bummie is too young … Ms. Jessica started helping Sir Owen at the age of 18 but Bummie here started helping Sir Owen, Ms. Jessica and Mr. Heechul not even in his teens and now taking over two years earlier than Ms. Jessica… a larger than life responsibility ...

I don’t know how I should feel towards all of these for Bummie…I am a bit in mixed emotions or rather confused whether be happy or sad for him at the same time…

Kangin:            (sighs) I know but Master Owen has to, because apart from taking care of all his 
                        businesses all around the world; he has been taking care of his two kingdoms and it has
                        never been a joke juggling here and there… There were times that I would carry Master
                        Owen’s body to bed coz he’d sleep anywhere when he could no longer fight his
                        exhaustion…

I guess you know what I mean… after the late Princess Tonette passed away… Master Owen was requested by Majesties King and Queen to help them in ruling their kingdom including the businesses Princess Tonette was handling…

Taeyang:         (nods and sighs) yes… I know Mr. Kangin…

Kangin:            In all honesty, they are sure lucky to have Kibum who is exemplary brilliant and can be
                        able to manage everything… but you know I do hope one day he has someone whom he
                        can spend his life with, help him and be happy as well… For people like him, he doesn’t 
                        have to wait for a long period of time to settle down, he just have to look and choose and
                        not wait for the right person he can spend his entire life with… I wonder how his children
                        would look like…

Taeyang:         (gulps and blushes) I wish and hope so too… (says to himself... "wish I can tell you..." and
                        smiles)...
