Chapter 6        Chronicles of the Past… Bummie’s Family unfolds...

    First Encounter

Point in time:   No Point In Time – rather One Summer Hot Day

                          Jessica – age 20 and Heechul – age 23

Location:          Somewhere in South Korea

Jessica’s Thoughts:

I don’t understand how it gets to this! Oh Dad – “I’d expect you can make out of something there and be successful again – I have full trust in you as always. It is going to be one swell of an adventure – am telling!” Yeah, great - am supposed to be going somewhere I really would like to be! Huh! I have no idea how to start – well, I guess I need to deal with a lot of things. I hope am going to like it – I had no time to even to do research about S. Korea – why didn’t I bother by the way, when we have even have businesses established several years ago – that’s weird. I know, it is a pretty progressive, admirably clean, and peaceful country, is it?

She is born to a small but prosperous European country, of a highly respected prominent family – heiress to one of the secret richest persons worldwide. Her mother died when she was born; her father from then on never decided to remarry but focuses all of his attention to her and his businesses. She’s very brilliant and an extraordinarily smart person, groom to be the heiress of her father’s businesses. A very beautiful person inside and out but she doesn’t recognize it in fact and doesn’t care what she looks; regardless though – inadvertently, she oozes with beautiful appearance, grace and natural confidence.

Her lifestyle now contrasts with her childhood prolific lifestyle – growing up, becoming a very down to earth person. None of her friends know how extremely super-rich Jessica is – growing up she chooses to live at a not-so-elaborate condo unit.  She understands her lifestyle condition as well as her father’s proverbial yet furtive business activities. She carries a different surname by choice to prevent untoward dreadful incident.  

Jessica’s main weaknesses out of all her endearing characters are bluntness and feistiness.  What she hates most is being exposed to a not-even-so-long period of time under the sun.

“Darn this is so intense and hot”.  She pulls her long sleeves, puts on a hat, face masks-covering and nose-and sunglass to protect her. People think am kind of bizarre seeing me like this but what can I do – the sun drives me really crazy. 

Talking to herself she says,

 “Ok fine, I am here not to find comfort being hot flushed under the sun – Dad wants me to meet people for a possible business venture. My life in Paris is so fine and pretty successful; I don’t know why I need to come here. I wonder, what was it that he said” – putting her pointing finger on her lips, she recalls what her conversation she had with her had few days back

JP Owens:      Darling, don’t you think it is time for you to settle down. I mean you see – I wish you can start a family of
                       your own. Don’t you think this is a good idea?

Jessica:           In your dreams, Dad. In your dreams! Am still having fun being single, why, don’t you love me anymore?
                        Are you even sick and tired of my presence?

JP Owens:      Oh Darling, don’t say that but he he he, I want a grand child. Please…please...am begging. I would be
                        happy to have another beautiful little grand daughter just like you or a grand son – hmmm – what if he’s 
                        so extremely pretty for a boy – oh... that would be lovely – can’t wait...

Jessica:           Aaaaiisshh – Dad – can you hear me? I said, being single and no worries over who ever I will be with is
                        better – you see!

JP Owens:      Aaaayyyyaayyyayyy… My dear Jessica, please... hmmm...By the way, could you lend me your time and 
                       business brain powers. Please go to South Korea on my behalf though I have businesses down there,
                       there is this guy whom I met and I talked to – it is about new business possibilities. He is a good fellow I
                       think and very intelligent too. Here is the address of the place you are staying – as a guest. Just incase
                       you chose to go by yourself. Your flight is tomorrow.

Jessica:           DAADD!! WWHHATT!!

JP Owens:      And by the way, do not worry about your so many successful businesses – I got them covered for like two
                       years.

Jessica:           WWWWHHHHATTT!!

JP Owens:      oh, the “what” word again… am hearing it a lot from you lately…

“So here I am,” getting her mobile phone to call on her Dad.

Jessica:           Dad, where is this guy who’s going to get me. I have just landed.

JP Owens:      Darling, I don’t know how you would like things to happen. Sweetie – I was sending you on a private jet
                        but preferred to take on a passenger airline – wooosshh. I already told someone to pick you up but Mr.
                        Kim, voluntarily requested to personally fetch you – see anyone holding a notification board that says
                        “HAPPY DAY”?

Jessica:           What the heck is a “Happy Day,” sure your greeting sign is way too flashy that can even send shiver down
                        my spine – care to smooth-talk me? I do not see anyone holding a sign board like that.

JP Owens:      He he he honey – of course – I will always be your weakness… Oh, just wait for a moment. He is very
                        easy to spot. He will be the tallest, glamorous and strikingly beautiful good looking guy among the crowd.

Jessica:           yeah, yeah whatever...

JP Owens:      Bye bye Sweetie – have fun…Tata and by the way another thing – Mr. Kim does not know that you are my
                       daughter – Tata again final this time…(cuts the line)

Jessica:           Dad!! Whaat!! Am going to stay In his house!! I am still talking to you…ggrrrrr… whatever… Love You
                        Daddy...
