Chapter Two
The Least FavouriteOne day, Youngbae hyung had enough and sent Daesung and Seungri to intimate note.
“They’re awkward.”
Daesung heard those words many times than he could possibly count.
When the blindfold was taken and he found out that he was left alone with Seungri, a deep sense of uncomfortableness fell upon Daesung. His screwed relationship with Seungri was now in the open for everyone to see.
It was really Daesung’s fault, he should’ve dealt with it in private while he could. Only he didn’t know how and was lost on too many levels. Approaching Seungri was the hardest thing Daesung attempted. He worked with very respectable seniors in Family Outing but they were a lot easier to deal with than Seungri.
Daesung thought that Seungri was too confident for his own age and good. There was a thin line between confidence and Arrogance. Seungri almost crossed that line and Daesung was both angry and envious.
Angry because Seungri’s confidence can be taken the wrong way and envious because he never had that level of self-esteem. Daesung struggled to actually follow his dream. His parents never supported him at the beginning and he was thrown into an unknown world without any background or a family to back him up.
Daesung suffered too much to get where he was today. After BigBang’s debut, he felt like he was bringing the group down. His voice cracked numerous times and he wished the earth would split and swallow him whole at those exact moments. Daesung never wanted to be the weak bone of the group. He from all people knew that all the members sacrificed a lot to be where they were. He refused to be the one who brought them down.
So when he did fail them, Daesung felt a great sense of guilt. It took him days and sometimes weeks to push himself forward and forget about what happened. Daesung’s voice was his only forte at the time. He was neither an excellent dancer nor a composer. He tasted blood while staying up all night for practice. He had to get better anyway possible, if not for himself then for the group’s sake.
He owed them that much.
So when Daesung watched Seungri fall and pull himself up without much effort, it made Daesung feel bad for himself. He was so unlike Seungri who was initially kicked out of the group but still found his way back, proved his worth and remained with them. If Daesung went through what Seungri did, he wasn’t sure he would make it back.
Daesung loved Seungri’s fighting spirit and wished he had some of it as well. Unfortunately, he didn’t and that made him at odds with Seungri’s personality.
It still sat ill within Daesung that Seungri didn’t even try to reconnect their relationship. Of course Daesung is the hyung and he should be the one who fixes it but Seungri loss of interest in the subject bothered Daesung.
So now, when Daesung saw Seungri’s uneasy expression, he knew this show will probably end up in a disaster. Daesung was well aware that their awkwardn
