Arranged Marriage“It’s about time you get married, Kogyeol.”
Said boy adverted his eyes from the thick book he was reading. “Mother, how many times have I told you I’m not ready? And the fact that I’m not into women,” he said, giving subtle hints of being annoyed in his otherwise proper tone. He never shouted at her. It’s how he was taught to talk back to his mother.
The brown haired woman walked over and sat down on one of the maroon library couches. Kogyeol’s attention was given back to the writings embed in slightly yellowed pages. He was rereading one of his favorite stories, and he definitely didn’t want to be bothered by the whole arranged marriage thing.
He heard his mother chuckle and raised an eyebrow, eyes still on the page. “I know, dear. That is a great relief because I am setting you up with a man.” That piqued his interest just slightly, and after a few more sentences, he closed his book- a finger stuck between the pages he was reading. He looked back up, silently telling her to continue.
“He will be arriving later this evening for your first meeting, so I advise you to start getting ready,” she said. Kogyeol sighed heavily. “Later, mother. I’m just going to finish this chapter.” He reopened his book.
