My first serious, very adult relationship was with Do Kyungsoo.
I met him when I was in law school. Kyungsoo was a few years older and he worked for the law firm where I interned for a summer. We weren’t allowed to date that summer since we were technically coworkers, so we spent months dancing around each other. After I got back to school though, Kyungsoo immediately asked me out.
“Why do you always like these short guys?” Sehun asked, squinting at Kyungsoo’s back, where he was sitting at the bar.
I had invited Sehun to finally met Kyungsoo, who I had kind of been hiding away from my friends.
I think I still felt like a child playing in big kids shoes. Yes, I was almost twenty four years old and going to the nation’s top law school, but on the inside, I felt no different than my undergraduate days. And Kyungsoo? Kyungsoo was a real adult. He had a growing career, his own apartment, his own car. Kyungsoo could cook and clean and was a full functioning adult, which was what I was trying to be.
I was afraid he’d see through me for the child that I was if he met Sehun.
Sehun had started working at an independent interior design firm after graduation. He wore brightly colored suits, dyed his hair all sorts of crazy colors, and wore these hipster black frames that gave him a unique indie looking. Currently, his hair was literally every color of the rainbow.
