CHAPTER 1
Frozen [On Hold]Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there lived a happy couple. They lived together happily in a country called Erstadt, where they were the King and Queen. Soon, the Queen gave birth to a very beautiful boy, so beautiful that even girls would envy his soft and rosy skin and his full and pink lips and his eyes that seemed to be filled with an entire galaxy. The King and Queen decided to name him Mark, for he was so pure, so unmarked that it seemed unreal. Everyone in the country, be it the poor or the rich, were invited to a ball. Their country was peaceful, a whole year could pass without any bad things happening, for there was a very well guarded secret. So well guarded that not even the gossipy palace maids knew about, only the King and Queen knew about it. It was that the Queen herself had magical powers, powers that could allow even the most infertile land to grow, even the most sad of people to turn happy. But as expected, their story did not end with a Happily Ever After, for bad luck always falls upon the kindest of people. For the Queen soon died a few months after giving birth to a mysterious disease. The King was distraught for he had loved his Queen so much, he felt as if half of his heart had stopped pumping. So naturally, he blamed the death of his beloved on his son, a mere six month old baby. He hated him with all his heart. He hated Mark so much that he gave him a room in the deepest and darkest part of the castle, leaving only a maid to care for him.
The King soon married another lady. A lady who was pretty but that was all. She had the worst kind of temper, she was selfish, she liked holding balls and party for the rich. Soon she gave birth to a son who inherited her beauty, he had the blackest hair, the prettiest button nose, and lips that even his own vain mother envied. They decided to name his Jinyoung, for his mother had insisted on that. The King and his wife held another ball, but this time they only invited the noblemen, and the first-classed, for the King's wife had said that she did not want to mingle with the peasants. The country soon turned chaotic. There soon started to have a huge class hierarchy, where the rich was able to do many things, and the poor had such limited amount that it was hard to get by with their daily lives. But not once did the King's new wife try to alter the law and have rules made to protect the poor like the previous Queen did. She was too busy requesting the King to build her a Summer Palace, a ballroom the size of the palace courtyard, and to buy the most expensive and rarest kind of jewels in the whole world. No one liked their new Queen, and frequently caused riots asking about the whereabouts of the country's first Prince.
It was only after Jinyoung turned 7 did he find out about the existence of his brother, his half-brother. It wasn't that he purposely hadn't wanted to know that, in fact he had always wanted a sibling, it was just that his mother and father had never told him about that. In fact, the King's wife did everything in her power to keep the King's first son a secret from Jinyoung for she wanted Jinyoung to ascend the throne, be it by sending anyone who dare utter a single word about Mark home or by beheading them, no one in the palace grounds dared to utter about it. Except for the only maid who took care of Mark, f
