Seoul is Definitely a Site Not to Miss

Seoul is definitely a site to see. I look out the windows of the white SUV I’m pimping, keeping myself awake. The trip to Seoul was 17 hour long, even if I were to meet with Obama, I’m bound to give in to sleep any minute later.

“Unnie, aren’t we there yet?” the question was meant for my walking Google Translate.

“Sooyoon-ssi, don’t be too excited now. You can rest your head for a bit. We won’t be there until thirty minutes later,” the man in the front seat, known as Shin, answered me with a matching chuckle to top it off.

Sadly, none of the UKiss members I expected came to pick us up in the airport. Instead, the manager went there with his hot ride and ‘kidnapped’ us.

I tried really hard not to fall asleep. I pretty much travelled Seoul by just looking at the restaurants and shops we passed by. Heck, we even passed by Babtol*. But a growing girl like me needs sleep and can’t spend a day without it. Just when I felt my eyes going blurry, I decided to give in to sleep and rest my head on the nearest cushion.

“Wake up, sleepy head,” someone gently tapped my shoulder.

“Where are we?” I blinked a few times to make up the image of Seoyeon-unnie sitting beside me and smiling. We were not moving anymore, the car was in a full stop. Are we there yet?

“Language class”

“Language class?” it was supposed to be a question, but it came out to be a yell-question. Why are we in language class when all I want to be is in UKiss’ dorm, chatting with them.

“How will you be able to chat with them when you don’t even know their language?” do you read minds? “No, I don’t read minds. It was painted all over your face,” Seoyeon said as she giggled. She is enjoying this. Freaky.

I sighed and went out of the car. I stood up with my hands on my hips, looking completely exasperated, as I glance everywhere. Again, Seoul is definitely a site to see.

“Where is this?”

“Language class is right there,” Seoyeon pointed at a decent looking house beside a convenience store. “Let’s go.”

This is killing me. When I came here, I expected UKiss to pick us up from the airport. When I found out that their manager was picking us up, I let it slip and hoped to see UKiss after the car ride. The car ride which lead to some oddball language class which I didn’t even pay attention to because I was too busy thinking about what I will do after the class, after the class when I meet UKiss. But instead, here we are, sitting inside some fast food restaurant.

“I want to order some more. This is really good. Sooyoon, you should have more”

“No, thanks. I’m good,” I wanted to finish real fast.

“If you say so,” manager guy took one last bite off his burger and got off his seat.

“Sooyoon, I need to go to the bathroom. You wait here,” Seoyeon left before I could even protest. Great, they left me sitting alone in a crowded fast food restaurant which just so happens to be in a place where I don’t even have the slightest idea about the word+hae or word+nida I hear everywhere.

I could’ve sworn I heard someone call my name in a whisper. But I ignore it since there’s probably someone else named Sooyoon around.

Just then I felt someone grip my arm. I look up at the latter who was wearing his black slipover up, hiding his face. He had a slightly large frame. Oh my god. I’m going to get kidnapped in Seoul, a place I don’t even know.

*Babtol - to those readers who are not big fans of Super Junior. Babtol is a restaurant in Seoul Yesung bought for his parents. A lot of KPOP fans go to Seoul and say Babtol is a must-go-to-before-I-leave place.
