“Bring me all of Lee Donghae’s records.”

“Yes sir.” A nod. 

“Dr. Lee.” Turning to the door, there stood two men in white labcoats. One was with glasses, who greeted the man already inside and the other one who looked too young to be a doctor but had the professional aura around him.

“Dr. Park. Dr. Choi.” The man greeted back respectively.

Three doctors from different hospitals around the city came to the aid of patient Lee Donghae. They may not know it from the inside but outside, the news of the certain patient has spread around much too quickly. A huge reason for these experts to come.

“It’s nice to meet you, Dr. Lee. I’ve heard great things about you.” Dr. Park offered his hand to the other and shook to him politely.

“It’s a great pleasure to work with you too.” Dr. Lee replied. He turned to the younger doctor who was still standing by the door, hands in his coat pocket. “Dr. Choi, I believe we’ve met before.” He gave him a knowing look nodded and was answered with the same action.

“Yes, we have. Let’s work well together, shall we?” Dr. Choi responded with a slight smile.

“What do we have about the patient?” Dr. Park asked after they settled themselves in their new office.

“I have requested his records; we have to go through them first before we decide on doing anything.” Dr. Lee explained giving the nurse a sign to fetch the files.

The young doctor cleared his throat and approached his own desk, “Dr. Lee, I think it isn’t necessary anymore.” This made him gain the attention of the two elders. “From what I see and heard, patient Lee Donghae isn’t exactly stable and I think he would never be.”

“How can you come up with that, Dr. Choi? We were only briefed of what happened to him two days ago.” Dr. Park replied giving the younger inquisitive looks.

“It’s just common sense, Dr. Park. How long has Lee Donghae been in here?” He raised an eyebrow at the older. All the while, the other doctor has stayed quiet.

Dr. Park scratched his head.  “I’m not.. sure.”

Dr. Choi looked at the other doctor in the office waiting for him to answer.

It took a minute looking at the older before he was returned with a low whisper, “Sixteen years.”

“Sixteen?!” Dr. Park gagged at the answer. He’s been locked up here almost all his life?!

Dr. Lee pushed his well kept hair back, leaning against his own desk across Dr. Choi. He picked up a paper from the table showing Lee Donghae’s never changing schedule. Only consisting of meals time and check-ups. No wonder there’s any progress to the patient’s condition.

“Lee Donghae was only a minor back then when his family’s incident occurred. They thought because of the shock and trauma, the kid lost his senses and brought him here. However, no one took the liberty of checking if his condition has gotten better or not.” Dr. Lee paused, placing the paper back on the table and taking his seat.

“That is why I think we are here. We are doctors and we are supposed to help the patients heal not keep them locked up. Don’t you agree?” At his question, Dr. Lee turned his head to look at the youngest doctor.

“I agree with Dr. Lee. I say we know everything about Mr. Lee first before we do something.” Dr. Park nodded and looked at the youngest also.

Dr. Choi smiled wide, equally giving back the stare Dr. Lee was giving him. He nodded picking up a copy of the paper the other doctor read a while ago. “Okay then. If that's what you want to do then we should. Let’s get to know him well before we do something.” He repeated.

The air was really tense inside the room but none of the three experts noticed it. They were busy talking about their patient that some remarks that were meant against each other was left ignored. If there are other occupants in the room, they would surely feel awkward. Dr. Lee and Dr. Choi were obviously against each other for some reason but neither of them minded it. Much less the oblivious Dr. Park.

“Sir’s?” A knock came from the door and all three turned to look at the same nurse from a while ago carrying folders and envelopes. “Here are the files you’ve requested.”

“Thank you.” Dr. Lee stood up from his desk taking some from the stack and placing them down the vacant table left of his desk across Dr. Park’s. He turned to the nurse once again remembering something, “Can you also accompany me to the surveillance room?”

The nurse was evidently confused with the request but nodded. “Yes sir.”

“I want to see Lee Donghae’s CCTV footages the week of his violent outrage.”

“Yes sir. Right away.” The nurse quickly exited the room alerting the doctor’s orders to the nurses’ station then came back after securing the orders to the surveillance department.

“Is he awake?” Dr. Lee asked.

“No, sir. He’s asleep.”

“I’ll also go and take a look at him later.” He twirled back to the o
