Inside The AsylumIII
“Yes. I know him and I know you, Hae.”
“How do you..?” Donghae was in utter confusion. Hyukjae was spitting out nonsense. He fisted the sheets around him not caring if they were just the new ones.
“Donghae, calm down. I’ll explain everything I know to you. Just calm down first.” Hyukjae was pleading so Donghae let go of the cloth but still had his fists balled up. He stared at the other man with creased brows. He silenced himself again until Hyukjae heaved a heavy sigh.
“What do you know about my brother?” Donghae was a bit surprised at himself. That could have been the longest thing he’s said.
“There’s not much I know about him except he was your brother and…” Hyukjae’s words suddenly came to a halt.
“And what?”
“...And he didn’t kill himself.”
Donghae’s jaw dropped, “What do you mean?”
“He.. He was killed, Donghae.” Hyukjae didn’t once look at him as he said this but Donghae was searching his eyes.
“By who?” The crazed called man’s voice dripped with venom.
“I’m not sure. I told you I only know a little about him.” Hyukjae kept his head down while Donghae looked up at the ceiling hissing in exasperation.
“What about me?” He asked after calming himself down.
Hyukjae took his time to answer. He stared straight ahead avoiding Donghae’s gaze on him. “I’ve known you for long but I don’t think you remember me.”
“I don’t.”
“It’s okay, Hae.” Hyukjae shrugged and willed himself to look at the other again.
“Why are you here?” Donghae asked his eyes still not leaving Hyukjae. Deep in his mind he was trying to remember who this man was. If he really knew him then he can at least remember something about him.
A thing that also bugs him was the name Hyukjae had called him. ‘Hae’. He’s sure he’s heard that before and so he thought thinking about that name might help him remember what his relation to Hyukjae was in the past.
