Chapter 32

CLOSER [HIATUS]

Won Woo didn’t take Soo Min’s car like he usually did. He thought walking would give him time to prepare himself for what he wanted to do, he could plan it before he makes it to the convenience store. How do people plan this kind of thing? He thought with a small snicker. He did think his original idea of confessing under the stars in L.A would be perfect, but that wouldn’t be until the weekend and the week had just started. Could he really wait that long? Let alone, already things seemed to be going bad between him and Mingyu, how could he confess to the guy under the stars if they weren’t on good terms?

It’s simple, right? He thought while turning around the corner. Just tell him… I like you, too. He stopped once he turned around the corner and sighed. For something that should be so easy, it sure seemed difficult for him. He knew once he was standing in front of Mingyu, it wasn’t going to go how he plans it. He’s going to get so nervous that he won’t be able to speak and Mingyu would get the wrong idea or get upset again at his lack of words. I thought he understood me? He sighed again. Maybe I expected too much. Maybe I foolishly thought someone could fully understand me like that. He was finding that out the hard way, wasn’t he?

There was another block to go before he’d reach the convenience store and he stayed at the corner. He was getting second thoughts again, he was about to chicken out. No, I have to do this. He tried to push those negative feelings away and continued on his path to Mingyu’s workplace. It was almost 2am, his shift would be over soon.

When he made it to the end of the block, he noticed a figure standing at the end of the sidewalk. They had long black hair and before Won Woo could mistake them to be Soo Min who might have snuck out and followed after him, he realized the figure was too tall to be his short best friend. It had to be Ren. “Hey.” He called out to him and watched Ren flinch and step back from being startled. “Sorry!” Won Woo apologized with a small chuckle.

“Jeez, you scared me!” Ren pouted and clutched his racing heart.

“What are you doing out here at this hour?” Won Woo asked after getting CLOSER to him on the sidewalk. He was honestly surprised to see him out and about alone. Wasn’t he some sort of celebrity? Was he rebelling? Was he up to no good? Was he planning somethin-

“Just needed some fresh air.” Ren finally replied. “Been a long Monday.”

“Ah, I feel you.” Won Woo chuckled and looked around the area. There wasn’t anyone around, because it was so late and it was quiet, other than a barking dog in the distance. He was a little nervous about that until he felt Ren touch his arm.

“It’s okay, I passed that barking dog earlier, they’re behind the fence and chained to a dog house.” That seemed to make Won Woo less tense and Ren was glad. Then there was a silence that fell upon them but it was a comfortable silence.

“Oh, right… I saw you with Soo Min earlier.” Won Woo ended up breaking that silence a few moments later.

“Oh, you did?”

“Yeah, I was in the park with Mingyu at the time… I was going to come and say hi but…”

“That’s fine. You said hi to me later on anyway.” Ren chuckled, he was referring to just now. Won Woo gave a sheepish smile before he recalled the woman from the park.

“By the way…” he said before reaching into his jacket pocket for the business card she gave him. “She’s your mother, right?” He asked after showing Ren the card.

“... Yes.” He nodded. “Why?”

“I don’t know why, but we’ve bumped into each other twice now and she’s been really… motherly to me each time.” Won Woo explained before he scratched the back of his head. “Not sure why I’m bringing this up so suddenly…”

“Motherly… huh?” Ren repeated and looked lost in thought. Won Woo noticed and wondered why he was reacting like that.

“I just found it kind of strange… since my parents moved to the states for work, I don’t see my mother often. So when I bump into your mother like that, I don’t know… just felt strange. Since Soo Min’s parents helped take care of me, her mother is like a second mother to me. Now I feel like I have three mothers after bumping into yours.” Won Woo suddenly laughed after he mentioned that, but frowned when he saw Ren wasn’t laughing with him. “Uh… what is it?”

“Won Woo, mind telling me your surname?” Ren asked almost in a serious tone.

“My surname?” He asked with a confused expression. Ren nodded and Won Woo didn’t feel like he should overthink it since it was late and all. “Jeon.”

“Jeon… Jeon Won Woo.” Ren said softly. Jeon Hye Won had to be Jeon Won Woo’s mother. “The wife found out later on and it caused a rift in their friendships and they ended up moving to the states for work. I felt so bad because they left behind the other child they had a year later after you were born.” Won Woo had to be the step brother he learned about. “He was really good friends with the daughter of your father, so they took care of him when his parents left.” There was that intense feeling, that strange connection. And just like before… he felt like crying again.

“What’s wrong?” Won Woo frowned when he noticed Ren’s teary eyes.

“Ah, nothing!” Ren shook his head with a weak chuckle. “Just a long Monday. I’m stressed.” He added while wiping away the premature tears.

“It’ll be okay.” Won Woo hesitantly reached a hand out to pat Ren on the shoulder.

“Thanks.” Ren managed a small smile before he saw Won Woo check for the time. “I should get going.” He said to make things easier. He could tell Won Woo must’ve been planning to go somewhere judging by the expression on his face when he read the time. “It was nice bumping into you.”

“Same.” Won Woo said with a small smile. “See you around?”

“Sure.” Ren nodded before Won Woo waved and started to sprint off around the corner. Ren was left alone on the sidewalk to think about their encounter. Things are happening so quickly… He thought and held his aching head before he started walking to his car parked down the street.

When Won Woo made it to the convenience store, he didn’t see Mingyu anywhere in sight. He checked the time and it was 2:23am. His talk with Ren went longer than he thought it would. Damn, he must’ve went home already! He thought before exiting the store and walked around to the side of the building to sit on the bench, but he was surprised to see someone already sitting there like they were waiting for him.

“I didn’t think you were going to be late.” Mingyu said with a sad pout.

“I’m sorry.” Won Woo apologized from his spot a few feet away.

“I was about to leave…” Mingyu stood up and shoved his hands into his jacket pockets with a small sigh. “It’s late. You should go back-”

“No.” Won Woo blurted out. “I just got here.”

Mingyu gave a small chuckle in response. “It’s still late.”

“I know.” Won Woo’s eyes casted down to the ground and his hands balled up into fists, he looked like he was struggling and Mingyu noticed and frowned.

“Won Woo-”

“Listen.” Won Woo summoned up the courage to look up at him before he spoke again. “I’m not really good at this whole liking someone if it wasn’t obvious. I’m not really sure what to do. I keep waiting for that perfect moment Soo Min keeps talking about but it never seems to come. The more I thought about it, the more I got a headache, it’s so complicated. I thought to myself, should I tell you how I feel when we’re under the stars in L.A and make it romantic, or say it to you right now at the side of the convenience store building where we first met?” He could see Mingyu’s eyes widen and Won Woo tried to make sure he wouldn’t stutter over his words now from the nerves. “I don’t know what you would like better, to be honest, but I can’t take it anymore… I like you.” He finally said it. “I like you, Mingyu… I really like you.” He finally confessed.

Mingyu was at a loss for words. He really didn’t expect for Won Woo to confess like this out of the blue and if he had to be honest, he felt like he was never going to confess. Each time he thought the moment would come, it never came, he really started to believe that this was never going to work out, it was never going to happen and he was just going to have to live with it. He thought Won Woo was going to be the one he couldn’t have…

Mingyu had also thought it would happen at the perfect moment before he almost gave up, he felt maybe it would happen in the park or by the river, somewhere more romantic and memorizing, he felt like that could be in Won Woo’s character. But no, he just confessed outside at 2am by Mingyu’s workplace! No wait… Won Woo confessed at the place where they first met, that has to count for something, right?! That’s romantic, right?!

“Say something.” Won Woo’s voice snapped him out of it. “You’re freaking me out by not saying anything. What? Do you not like me anymore after I made you wait for so long?” His expression was full of hurt from that thought.

“No!” Mingyu quickly replied. “No, I could never stop liking you, Won Woo.” He added with a small smile. “Sure, it took a while, but I was okay with waiting. I understand it was probably difficult for you… so I waited.”

“It didn’t seem like that earlier.” Won Woo said in a broken voice. “You seemed bothered and left so quickly… it didn’t feel like you liked me anymore.”

“I’m sorry.” Mingyu apologized before taking a few steps CLOSER towards Won Woo. He could see the older tense up and take a step back and Mingyu stopped. “I should be honest, right? I was frustrated…” he admitted. “Even when I openly said I liked you… you said nothing.” Won Woo suddenly felt worried. He wasn’t sure what was going to happen now that they were talking like this. This is what he was afraid of. “I tried to understand that maybe you were shy, maybe you were scared… it’s the first time you’ve been in a situation like this, but I guess I didn’t try hard enough and got frustrated. But at the end of it all… I still liked you. I still like you, Won Woo.”

“... when you left me at the park earlier, it really hurt.” Won Woo said softly and brought one of his hands up to rest over his beating heart. “Seeing you walk away made my heart ache, I didn’t want you to go. I wanted you to stay, but I was weak… I couldn’t speak up, I couldn’t speak loud enough. And then you were gone. In that moment, I missed you terribly.” Before Won Woo could look up at him, Mingyu had already stepped CLOSER and pulled him into a tight hug. He was stunned before he relaxed and managed to wrap his arms around Mingyu to return the hug.

“I’m here now.” Mingyu said by Won Woo’s ear. He pulled back a bit after a moment and took Won Woo’s face into his hands with a sad smile. He thumbed away the tears that had fallen during their embrace. “It’s okay.” The tears seemed to increase and Mingyu frowned. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m not ready…” he barely got out. “I know I just said I liked you… but I don’t think I’m ready for a relationship.” He could tell Mingyu looked crushed, he looked disappointed and it really hurt Won Woo. He felt like maybe staying quiet would have been better than confessing but denying him anyway. “It’s not like I don’t want to be with you… I’m just…”

“It’s okay.” Mingyu said with a small chuckle and wiped away Won Woo’s tears again, he seemed more upset about telling him he wasn’t ready and he found it cute. “I understand.”

“Do you?!” Won Woo almost sobbed. “You’re not going to suddenly act like you did earlier a day from now, are you? You’re not going to act like that while we’re in L.A, are you? Because I hated that… I liked it better when you were overly excited when greeting me and parting from me, you were always so happy when we were together… but then you weren’t.”

“Awwh…” Mingyu held back his tears and smiled at the crying Won Woo, the man he loved. “It’s in the past now. You told me how you feel and believe me, I’m really happy!” He said before hugging Won Woo once more. “Maybe waiting for things to happen will be a struggle, but I’m going to be patient, because I won’t be happy if you’re not.” Won Woo just continued to cry in Mingyu’s arms until he calmed down a short while later.

“Is this okay?” Won Woo asked after parting from Mingyu. “You really won’t stop liking me?”

“I won’t!” Mingyu chuckled and wiped a few of his tease. “I promise, I’ll always like you.” He added with a sweet smile this time. “C’mon. It’s really late now.” The younger offered to walk the older home and right before they left, Mingyu boldly took Won Woo’s hand into his. Won Woo tensed up a bit but quickly relaxed because this was something he didn’t mind doing for now, and he knew it would make Mingyu happy at least.

“I’m sorry.” Won Woo apologized after they started walking towards his apartment, he felt guilty. “I should’ve been more honest when I first started having feelings for you. But I was so lost and scared…”

“It’s okay now, you did really good!” Mingyu chuckled when Won Woo pouted at him. “What?”

“Don’t just say what I want to hear.” His hold on Mingyu’s tightened a bit. “Everything can’t always be okay.”

“You’re right.” Mingyu had to agree. “But it’s best not to be negative about it.” He had a point.

“... let’s just be more honest with each other from now on, alright?” Won Woo said a moment later after they made it to his apartment complex parking lot.

“Alright.” Mingyu smiled and faced him. “Can I kiss you?” He saw Won Woo freeze and his face started to turn red. “What, you said we should be more honest with each other?!”

“I know!” Won Woo managed to say after looking away. “And… I’m sorry, no.”

“Well, it was worth a try!” Mingyu laughed like a good sport. “So, what can I do and can’t do? Before I do something wrong…”

“Thanks for putting me on the spot.” Won Woo pouted before looking down at their conjoined hands. “I’m okay with this.” He admitted. “And hugging… because I like your hugs.” He added quietly and looked away with embarrassment clear on his red face.

“Okay.” Mingyu seemed happy with that and pulled him into a hug. “Don’t stress about it too much, okay? We can let things fall into place like they’re supposed to.” He said to him before parting. His cute smile had Won Woo slowly start to smile and Mingyu just couldn’t help it and leaned over to place a small kiss on his cheek.

Won Woo’s eyes went wide and he quickly placed his hand over the spot where Mingyu’s lips touched his cheek. He was stunned, his heart started to race and he could feel those butterflies raging in his stomach… he didn’t even hate that and was surprised. “Goodnight, Won Woo.” Mingyu said sweetly before giving him a small wave and left the lot to head home. He was extremely happy now and it showed.

It was a few minutes before Won Woo snapped out of it and quickly headed up to his apartment. His phone displayed 3:37am when he shut the door and leaned against it. I finally did it. He was kind of proud of himself. It only took what? Two weeks to finally say it out loud to the guy. After taking off his jacket and shoes at the door, he turned to see the living room was empty. He frowned at the sight. He was expecting Soo Min to still be up waiting for him to get back because she was nosy like that, but she wasn’t. Something didn’t seem right to him and he made his way to her room. He knocked before opening the door and saw her lying in her bed, awake while staring at the ceiling. “Soo Min?”

“Oh, you’re back?” She turned her head to look at him. She looked tired, but he supposed she was having trouble sleeping.

“Yeah.” He nodded before entering her room and went over to sit on the edge of her bed. “You couldn’t sleep?” He asked.

“No.” She said with a small sigh. “Just a lot on my mind tonight.” She added.

“... want to talk about it?” He hesitated, but it was clear why. Talking wasn’t their thing to start with.

“I’m not sure.” She gave a sheepish smile and sat up to face him. “But… I guess I would like to know if you’re okay now? I was worried about you, of course.”

“I’m fine now.” He assured her with a guilty frown. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. As long as you’re fine now, that’s all that matters to me.” She gave him a warm smile and patted him on the shoulder. “It’s been awhile since you’ve been in my room like this.” She said with a cute laugh.

“Then, can I sleep in here tonight?” He asked and had a hopeful look in his eyes. She wasn’t sure why, but she simply nodded because she didn’t mind at all. “Oh, I forgot, I have a morning class…”

“It’s fine.” She assured him. “I feel like going to campus early this time.”

“Really?” He was slightly surprised to hear that. “Then, I won’t stop you.” He added with a small chuckle. “Just don’t complain when I wake you up, okay?”

“Okay!” She rolled her eyes before shifting over to make room for him on her bed.

Once Won Woo was settled they told each other goodnight before falling asleep quickly. Usually they struggled to fall asleep most nights, but it seemed when they were together like this it was a lot easier. They slept peacefully until morning came and Won Woo’s alarm rang.

...

“What are you doing awake at this hour?” Jihoon asked on the other line and Soo Min snickered at that question.

“You don’t have to sound so shocked!” She said with a pouting tone. “You have class at 10am, right?”

“Not today. Class was cancelled. It’s just a study day.”

“How exciting!” She said sarcastically and heard Jihoon snicker at that. “It’s like that for me too, but what am I actually studying? Nothing… just have to complete my live portrait and turn it in next week. I feel bad for you guys who have to study for English and Math tests.” She said with a small pout and looked at Won Woo who was driving. That’s when she noticed they weren’t on the path to school, but to somewhere else. “Where are we going?” She asked to Won Woo.

“A small detour.” Won Woo said quietly, almost like he didn’t want to answer, almost like he was embarrassed.

“So you’re coming to campus early for your project?” Jihoon asked and grabbed her attention again.

“Kind of!” She nodded, despite she knew he couldn’t see it. “Actually… I was wondering if you wanted to meet up, I wanted to talk to you about something?”

“Sure. Just let me know when you get here.” He agreed and they exchanged a few more words before saying goodbye and ending the call.

“What did you need to talk to him about?” Won Woo asked, for once, he was being the nosy one.

“About Ren.” She replied with a trouble expression.

“Oh, right. They used to be friends…” Won Woo nodded while they waited at the red light. “I guess you want to see if they can reconnect, right?”

“I’m hoping they can.”

“Me too, now that he’s been hanging around us so much lately. I even ran into Ren last night while on my way to see Mingyu.”

“Oh, really?” She was both surprised and curious.

“Yeah, I’d hate for us to be hanging around him when he used to be Jihoon’s best friend. That wouldn’t seem right, would it? Jihoon would probably feel betrayed.”

“That’s why I want to see if he can meet with Ren before we go to L.A.”

“Good luck with that.” Won Woo said with a small sigh. He had a bad feeling it wouldn’t work out too well but he had to have some hope. Like Mingyu told him last night, “It’s best not to be negative about it.” A smile soon spread across his lips when he thought about last night. “By the way, can you move to the back seat?”

“Back seat, why?” Just then there was a knock on her window and she looked out to see Mingyu smiling at her while waving. He opened the door and greeted her a good morning.

“Because it’s too cramped back there for him.” Won Woo chuckled at her confused expression.

“Okay.” She pouted and got out so she could sit in the back. Though, something seemed different between Won Woo and Mingyu today. A lot different. They seemed happy to see each other, like really happy and even gave each other sweet smiles. Almost like they were… “Did you do it?!” She suddenly blurted out while pulling herself up to the front by the headrests of the front seats.

“Do what?!” Won Woo asked with a slight glare. Why was she being so loud this early in the morning, shouldn’t she be less energetic and sleepy?! But then he realized, she was in the car with one of her ships, of course that would give her life and energy. “It’s too early for your erted thoughts.” He pushed her back into her seat with his hand and she fell back like a rag doll and bumped her head on the car door since she was too close to it. She let out a small whimper and Mingyu just chuckled at their antics. He knew what she was asking and he expected Won Woo to get shy and not say anything. He supposed Won Woo didn’t tell her anything yet, but that was okay.

“Where are your friends?” Soo Min asked after sitting up. Just on cue, there was knocking on the back seat window and they saw Mingyu’s friends peering in.

“They’re coming along, too?” Won Woo turned to Mingyu who gave a sheepish smile.

“I told them you were giving me a ride this morning. I guess they don’t want to walk to school…” he said before looking to the back seat. “You think they can all fit?”

A moment later…

“I’m pretty sure this is illegal.” Soo Min said in a worried tone as she was seated on Seungkwan’s lap so she could be strapped in by the seatbelt as well. She was kind of embarrassed but all they could do was coo at how small she was compared to the rest of them. There were at least two minutes of the gag trio arguing on whose lap she was going to sit on and now she really felt like a rag doll.

“The drive to the campus isn’t that far, it should be fine!” Soonyoung assured her while reaching over to pet her on the head. “Wah, her hair is so soft.” He muttered to his friends and kept it like he just got addicted.

“Her skin is soft, too.” Seokmin added on while touching the back of her hand.

“She smells good, too.” Seungkwan said by her shoulder, the fragrance from her shampoo was still strong from the other night.

“Wow, your friends act like they’ve never seen a girl before.” Won Woo wasn’t sure if he should laugh or yell at them to back off.

“Well, they’ve never been this close to one before.” Mingyu said with a sheepish chuckle. “Okay, guys, that’s enough. You’re being creepy!” He finally got them to back off and Won Woo was glad.

“Sorry!” All three exclaimed before raising their hands up to touch the roof of the car. Hands off, literally. They kept their hands on the roof for the whole drive and it made Won Woo laugh each time he looked in the rearview mirror to see when they’d stop.

“Sit on my lap next time!” Soonyoung said after they arrived to the campus.

“I have a boyfriend.” She frowned, didn’t they know this?

“So do I!” He laughed and pointed at Seokmin and her eyes went wide. “You didn’t know?”

“NO!” She grabbed her head like she was about to go nuts.

“I mean, I did think you two looked good together and that you were a little CLOSER to each other than a normal pair of friends… but I didn’t want to assume anything and I never asked because it seemed too personal!”

“You know now!” Seokmin smiled while wrapping his arm around Soonyoung’s shoulders. “I’ll be a gentleman and give up my seat next time, you don’t have to sit in his lap, I will.”

“Yah!” Soonyoung hit him on the chest with a small blush.

Soo Min stood there and tried to keep her inner fangirl from coming out and squealing, she didn’t want to cause a scene and Seungkwan laughed at her almost failed attempt before he noticed Won Woo and Mingyu were missing from their small little crowd. “Where did they go?”

“What?” Soo Min asked and noticed what he was talking about. “Wah… they snuck away.” She looked betrayed but it was short lived because she really had a feeling something good happened between the two and so she wasn’t going to make a big deal about it. Maybe she’d hear about it later? They’re probably walking each other to class or something?!

“Where’s your class, noona?” Seungkwan snapped her out of it it again.

“Oh, it’s not till noon.” She replied before pulling out her phone to check the time. “I was going to meet up with Jihoon, so I’ll go find him now! See you guys at lunch?”

“Sure!” Mingyu’s friend gave her a bright smile before waving and she skipped off in search of Prince Jihoon.

“Can we go out for lunch?” Mingyu asked while he was walking Won Woo to his class building. They were able to successfully get away from their small group of friends moments ago since their classes would be starting real soon. They seemed distracted anyway so they decided to leave first, they wouldn’t mind of course.

“I guess.” Won Woo nodded in reply just as they were coming up to his class building.

“You heard what I said, right?” Mingyu pouted next to him.

“What?” He looked up with a raised brow.

“I said… can we go out?” Mingyu grinned because he thought that was smooth as .

“For lunch.” Won Woo snickered and completed his sentence. “What are you trying to do?”

“Nothing.” He pouted like a kid and sighed when he realized they were already at Won Woo’s classroom now. “I guess I’ll see you when you’re done.” He added before looking into the classroom to find it empty.

“Don’t miss me too much.” Won Woo chuckled and entered the classroom but he was stopped by Mingyu. “What?” He looked over his shoulder and it happened too quickly. Mingyu stepped into the classroom and shut the door before pushing Won Woo up against the wall and slammed his hand by Won Woo’s ear and gave him an intense stare. Like something straight out of a movie bull.

“Is your heart racing now? Are you swooning over me yet?” Mingyu smirked, he could see the surprise in Won Woo’s eyes and the blush on his cheeks.

“Of course it’s racing, you did it so suddenly, I was startled!” He complained while pushing Mingyu back a bit. “And why are you doing it? I already said I liked you, you don’t need to do stuff like that.” He added while pulling up the strap of his backpack that fell off during the ordeal. He looked so cool just then.

“... wah, I like you even more now!” Mingyu gushed before pulling Won Woo into a tight hug.

“Stop!” Won Woo’s voice was muffled into his chest. Mingyu pulled back a bit so he could look down at Won Woo with his bright and happy smile. “... jeez.” He muttered with a small sigh but there was a hint of a smile in it.

Won Woo expected Mingyu to let him go, but he didn’t and instead, they spent a moment staring into each other’s eyes. This was pretty new to Won Woo and he couldn’t help but zone out. It was different looking at someone like that and he wondered… Is this what a person who’s in love looks like? Is this how the person who likes you looks at you? Before he knew it, Mingyu’s face had gotten CLOSER, much CLOSER. Close enough to kiss him.

If Won Woo’s heart wasn’t beating before, it was beating now. The butterflies in his stomach were restless and his face was getting warm. He could tell Mingyu’s eyes were locked onto his lips and his own lips were almost about to touch Won Woo’s. Almost out of reflex, Won Woo closed his eyes and braced himself for impact. He wasn’t sure why he felt like it was going to hurt? And he had a feeling he was going to flinch once he felt their lips touch… he was so unprepared for this! Time felt like it stopped, despite time technically doesn’t exist. The suspense was starting to get to Won Woo when nothing seemed to be happening. Just as he was about to peek and look to see what Mingyu was doing, the classroom door opened.

DAMN.

Luckily, no one saw them in that position and they were able to separate before anyone could actually walk into the classroom. “See you after class.” Mingyu managed to say after clearing his throat and headed to the door. Won Woo watched him leave with a dazed expression. So, he was realizing that maybe there was no way of preparing to be in a relationship, he just has to let it happen like Soo Min said. Damn. His heart was still racing and he knew his face was probably still red.

He tried to hide it when he passed some of the students and made it to his seat at the back where his friend Daniel was already sitting. “Yo.” He greeted before he noticed Won Woo’s face. “Are you okay?”

“Shut up.” Won Woo muttered and placed his backpack on the table to hide behind it.

Daniel wasn’t sure what was up with him, but he did recall there was another guy inside the classroom with Won Woo before he entered with the rest of the students. Strange. He thought and decided to shut up like Won Woo told him to, because he wasn’t that kind of friend who pesters him about it. Class started moments later after the instructor entered the room.

While on her way to Jihoon’s class building, Soo Min stumbled upon two familiar faces sitting at one of the tables in the first floor lounge. She recognized one of them to be a classmate from her last semester in the computer labs. The other was his friend who came to visit him a lot in the lab and so naturally, she became friends with them during the semester, but after the semester was over, they didn’t really stay in touch. It seemed like a passing friendship and while Soo Min was kind of sad about it, she was kind of glad too, because one of them was just nuts, like really nuts after they laid eyes on Won Woo during the time he visited her.

“Soo Min, is that you?” The sane one called out to her and she froze before giving a sheepish smile and waved. She had no choice but to walk over and greet them, right? That would be rude if she didn’t and she would feel so guilty.

“Long time no see, cutie~!” The crazy one grinned from ear to ear. He still had his noticeable blonde hair and stalkerish smile. “You’ve been hiding from us, haven’t you?”

“N-No!” She stuttered out and the blonde’s friend chuckled.

“It’s okay, I would hide from him too if I could.”

“Haha, funny.” The blonde faked a laugh before looking back to Soo Min and looked around. “Here to meet your y best friend?” He noticed her hold back a laugh at that, probably because she was here to see one of her best friends, just not the one he had in mind.

“I guess you haven’t changed, Buffy.” She said with a small smile.

“Nonsense, we’re always changing, even if we don’t want to.” Buffy pouted at her. He had a good point and she almost zoned out thinking about it. That gave him the chance to drag her away to the cafe area in the main building so they could catch up.

“What the?!” She almost shouted when she snapped out of it. “When did I get here?” She looked to Buffy’s friend, Kyung Tak for an answer.

“You were really spacing out earlier.” He explained. “And he wanted something to drink, so he dragged you along.”

“Damn it, Buffy, I was on my way to meet with someone before I ran into you two.”

“Is that someone a guy? Is he cute?”

“You’re literally say that about every guy…” Soo Min chuckled at how eager he was to find out, she almost forgot how crazy he really was after all this time. “Don’t you feel a little left out, Kyung Tak? I don’t think I heard him calling you cute yet?”

“I don’t really care.” Kyung Tak shrugged his shoulders with a small laugh.

“But now that we’re talking about about cute people, where’s your bestie, Mr. Won?” Buffy asked impatiently.

“I don’t know, in class?” She shrugged. She assumed Mingyu walked him to class earlier, or Won Woo walked Mingyu to class… either way, they were with each other. Now she wondered how Buffy would take it if she told him someone else was pursuing Won Woo? When she looked at him and his crazy grin, she didn’t have the heart to tell him right now. She hoped she could escape or they leave before Won Woo gets out of class now.

“When will he be out of class?”

“Buffy, I’ve said it before… I’m not going to introduce you to Won Woo.” She let out a tiring sigh.

This is why she wasn’t too excited to run into these two.

They were Buffy and Kyung Tak from Spring semester. Their full bio doesn’t really matter right now as they were just acquaintances at first. Buffy apparently had the same interest in the major she was taking and they called it a happy coincidence. The two got along pretty well during their time together last semester, you could say it was like they were temporary bffs, but this semester they didn’t share any classes together and Soo Min was so glad! After last semester, she never wanted to take the same class as him ever again.

Because Buffy had this annoying habit of asking about Won Woo every day!

“Why not!” He played hurt. “I just wanna meet him, no big deal!”

Because he hadn’t properly met Won Woo since they were rarely ever in the

same place at the same time.

“Yes, it’s a big deal!” She exclaimed. “No offence but you’re such a big flirt, you’d make him uncomfortable~!” Not only that… he was too crazy for Won Woo, more crazy than she was and that says a lot! “He’s not very social, I already told you this a hundred times, too!”

Oh yeah, Buffy somehow formed a crush on Won Woo from the ONE time

he came to their computer lab to check on Soo Min.

“Don’t be like this! Don’t keep me from my future husband!” He joked but she wasn’t laughing!

Buffy is insane.

“How are you still friends with him?!” Soo Min turned to Kyung Tak who was just watching on in amusement. He only shrugged in reply. “This conversation is over, I’m leaving~!” She quickly got up from her seat and tried to run away from the table, but just her luck that Buffy got up to run after her. Today was going to be a long day~!

As far as the continuation I think it would be ok since you will be updating a few months from now. Right now it would seem a little weird, but I don't think it will be bad later. Go with your heart though.
