he’s halfway across the world but you’ve never felt any closer. the webcam has been on and your laptop battery is running out– 
you tell him this, and he just nods.

he loves seeing you in these rare moments, but he hates that he can’t actually be there with you. but this is all you’ve got– and for now, it’s enough.

it’s late now and you should be going to bed; it’s early for him and he’s woken up earlier than usual just for this.

there’s a silence that fills the conversation– a contemplation of what to say, of what to do. of how to end this without starting or ending the
day with a sad heart. so you just smile at him.

“good morning, jihoon.”

he smiles back.

“and goodnight to you.”
