The Reason beneath the Action
Out of My MindCHAPTER 1: The Reason beneath the Action
First, my name is Park Jaehyung. Yes, Park is my surname, remember it okay.. Now, I live happily with my family in the downtown of Seoul. My father, Park Jinyoung is strict yet funny father that can be my best buddy while fishing, but also can lock me in the bathroom when I got a bad grade. My mother, Park Chorin is the warmest person in the world, like I always feel comfortable surround her, moreover when dad is angry, hahaha. I have a year older sister, Park Chorong, she’s mmm how should I describe her.. Well, she’s.. a fox! Nine-tailed fox! Yes, it’s described her perfectly. I also have a year younger brother, Park Sungjin, he’s the Highness Prince in my house.. and I’m just a slave.
Well, you must be questioning WHY I told you about my family, like you must not interested on it. But, that’s where my problem begins. So, just be patient, okay?
Do you know the struggles of being the middle child?
No?
Mmm, what? I can’t hear you..
Oh!
Yes! Invisible.
Sandwiched in-between the cherished first-born and the-spoiled youngest child make the middle child become invisible. People tend to remember the first and the last child, like my neighbor always call my dad with ‘Chorong’s appa’. Hello? He’s my father too!
And sometimes, when my uncle visit my house, he’ll ask, “Where is your pretty daughter?” or “How is baby Sungjin? He must grow up as a handsome man now.” Uncle, do you forget about me?
That struggle is not only come from the people outside, but also from inside the house. The second child will always get a secondhand stuff. Just like when I wanted a laptop, my dad would say, “Just use your sister’s old laptop, it’s still work perfectly.” But I want a new one dad, not that pink laptop please T.T
And being the middle child means you should sacrifice, a lot, to the youngest. Like when there left a last bite of meat when we had BBQ, mom must say, “The last one is for our beloved maknae, Sungjin ah.. It’s okay right Jaehyung ah? You’re a good brother..” I want to eat that too, I need to grow up too mom T.T
You must be think I was overacting or being a drama king (I’m a guy so it shouldn’t be queen), but no! It’s still half of my misery. Cz you know what? It’s not only happened in the house, but also at school.
Since I’m only one year younger than my sister and one year older than my brother, we mostly attend the same school.
Chorong noona is quite popular among guys since she’s a part of the cheerleader team. So, sometimes, I got a question for my male friends, “How could you have that pretty sister, Jae?” “May I have her number, Jae?” Don’t you want my number, so we can hang out together, bro? Eeewww
And having a pretty sister is not enough, the Prince also came to the same school as I am.
Sungjin is the type for the girl would be crazy for. He’s good at sports, can play many musical instruments, and not that bad in class. FYI, he was the vice-president of his class. And the chance for my female friends to ask me came, “Jae, is he your brother? Really?” Should I show you our family certificate? And another girl added, “He looks like CN Blue’s Yonghwa, Oh My God!” Then, I look like Pororo, right? B Y E
Seems all of those miseries are not enough, the nightmare came strike me really hard. I failed to get to the class 3. So it means, I should stay in class 2 with Yonghwa, no I mean Park Sungjin, my little handsome brother T.T
I must be sounded like I was jealous of him and kind of hate him, right? No.
I like him. I care for him. And so does he, even though sometimes he’s a bit insensitive. But overall, he cares for me. He always helps me every time I have a hard times. Just like when he stood up in front of my dad, stopped his anger at me and promised him to help me study so I won’t get failed twice. And he
