Chapter 2

"Yes, we're almost there." Soon-young's mother told the person she was calling before she hung up.

"Soon-young, you're not mad at us for taking you with us on your free day, are you?" His father looked at him through the rear view of the car. They had been driving for a while now to visit old friends of his parents.

"I'm not." The 20-year-old boy answered. It was one of his free days, so he was a bit disappointed when he heard that he was going to spend a big part of it in the car. Especially since free days are really rare for idols. But he figured that he could at least spend some time with his parents this way. Besides, he could just come up with some new ideas for a choreography on the way and write them down in his notebook.

Mr. Kwon interrupted his son's thoughts with the announcement that they had arrived and he drove his car to the parking lot. Soon-young looked at his phone and saw that it only took about one hour to get here. He had thought it would take longer.

"Do you remember Ji-yeon?" The boy's mother asked him while getting out of the car.

"Ji-yeon?" It wasn't like Soon-young only knew one or two Ji-yeons. Ji-yeon was a common name for girls. There was a Ji-yeon in the kpop group T-ara, a Ji-yeon in his class in elementary school and- no way...

"My friend's daughter," his mother replied. "We even went on a holiday with them. One week, about ten years ago... you played with Ji-yeon all the time. Do you remember her?"

"Hong Ji-yeon?" Soon-young asked while a smile appeared on his face. "Of course I remember her! Wah, it's been such a long time. She must be... 19 now. Wah..."

"You look excited all of the sudden." His mother laughed before she pressed the doorbell.

Soon-young just replied by giving her a smile. I wonder if she kept our promise.
