Jihoon really doesn't mean to say it out loud.

It's dark, and they're outside, lying on their backs in the grass, watching the stars in the sky.  Well, that is to say, Soonyoung has been stargazing the whole time, ("it'll clear our heads, that way we can work better," the blonde had insisted.) Jihoon, however has been much more focused on his friend, and the way he looks in the moonlight.  Everything about him, from the way his eyes light up when he finds a constellation, to the constant, gentle smile on his face, is just so nice, so lovely, so -

"Beautiful." The traitorous word slips out before Jihoon can stop it, and his stomach sinks.  He likes the older man as more than a friend, and has for quite some time, but he's been doing his very best not to let it show since the day he figured out why the other made him so nervous.  All that effort is down the drain now, he thinks bitterly, but to his surprise, Soonyoung doesn't seem to react.  He holds his breath, waiting for the older boy to look at him strangely, to ask him why he said it, but all Soonyoung does is grin, eyes still glued to the sky above them.

"Yeah, it really is." It hits the younger then, that considering the current situation, it was ridiculous to assume Soonyoung would think he had said it about anything but the stars. The realization causes him to let out a small breath of relief, turning his head to look back up at the sky just in case he got caught staring. They stay like that for what feels like forever, until Soonyoung sits up, saying they should really get back to the dorm before the others get worried. Jihoon agrees, (albeit reluctantly) and they walk back at a snail's pace, Soonyoung chattering away about everything under the sun, and Jihoon listening silently, thoughts on the stars, and how they should do this again, just as soon as he thinks of more hidden compliments to give his oblivious friend.
