“Sorry for bothering you today, Miss Jung, but you have a new student today.” Her boss, the manager of the community center, went to her and gave her a file. “Sunggyu will be your new student from now on. He’s going to debut soon, so do try to improve his vocal skills. I know you can do it. You’re my best teacher. Don’t let me down,” he said as he gave her an encouraging smile. Eunji smiled nervously at the sudden praise from her own boss.

“Umm… I’ll try my best Mr. Lee, I won’t let you down. I promise.” She said to her boss, not knowing that Sunggyu was looking at her at the same time. “But, isn’t he a bit too old for my class? I mean, all my students are just little kids.” She asked Mr. Lee, confused by the sudden decision.

Mr. Lee sighed and explained, “Well, since his boss said he needed some privacy, I can’t refuse or put him in the older class. No excuses. Don’t worry; I know you can do it.” He smiled as he showed a ‘fighting’ gesture to encourage her. “Now, please excuse me…” he said as he walked out of class.

Eunji sighed as she turned to face her students, or rather her new student. He was the one who made her fall down, and didn’t even apologize. She doesn’t like rude people at all. She walked towards him and gave him a small smirk.

“So your name is Sunggyu. And you were the one who made me fall down just now and didn’t even apologize.” She said to him bitterly. “I demand an apology.” Sunggyu looked at her.

A small laugh escaped Sunggyu’s mouth. “Did I?” He paused for a moment before continuing, “I’m sorry then,” he said plainly and emotionless.

 “That’s not a genuine sorry there, mister.”

Sunggyu rolled his eyes at the sudden attack on him. He crossed his arms as he leaned on his seat. “Whatever. Aren’t you supposed to teach me, Madam?” He as he looked away. A small smirk crept up on his face.

Eunji was shocked at the sudden nickname for her, “Madam? Yah! I’m not that old... I’m younger than you!” gaped open as she was so shocked.

“Well, you look kind of old to me.” He muttered under his breath, but Eunji managed to listen to it. Eunji glared at him before she stormed off to the front of the class. Sunggyu couldn’t help but to laugh at her childish behavior. It was fun teasing her.

“It’s going to be an interesting class.” He said sarcastically as she began the class.

“Ugh, this class is boring!” Sunggyu groaned out loud as Eunji was explaining some things about vocal cords, something that Sunggyu wasn’t interested at all.

Eunji rolled her eyes at him. It had been two weeks since he first came here, and all she heard from him was the word ‘bored’.  He wasn’t even bothered to follow her class properly like he was supposed to, like the other students. After a while, Eunji was so fed up with his bad behavior. What’s the need of showing your hate to the class, she thought to herself.

 He needed to be thought a lesson.

“Okay, that’s it! What’s your problem?” Eunji snapped, making all the other students startled, including Sunggyu himself. Eunji went to him, slamming his desk with her hands. Her hands winced in pain, but she didn’t bother it.

“I hate this class,” he straightforwardly said to her. Those words were like a knife stabbing her heart. Eunji grew madder at him. Other students were looking at them now.

“Hate it or not, you have to be in this class until your singing gets better… But it will take a while, won’t it?” she as he gave her a spiteful look. “Anyway, keep your hate for me to yourself please? You’re disturbing other students.” she said quietly to him so that others can’t listen to it.

Sunggyu, who was baffled by her words, stood up and took a step closer to her. Now, Sunggyu and Eunji are just inches away from each other. Eunji didn’t take a step back; instead she stared straight at him.

“Excuse me, but I don’t hate you.” He said quietly, almost like whispering to her, “I hate being in this class.” He rolled his eyes at her. She’s being quite annoying to him.

Eunji’s anger fumed more. “Hating on the class means you hate me,” she said as she placed her hands on her waist.

Sunggyu wanted to say something to her but suddenly, the class door opened, only to be greeted by Mr. Lee. “What’s going on here?” He glanced at his watch to look at the time. Quickly, he said, “Class is dismissed.” The other students went out quickly because they knew if Mr. Lee is mad, he will get mad at everyone.

Then, he went to where Eunji and Sunggyu stood. Both of them stood away from each other after he came. Eunji awkwardly fidgeted with the lower hem of her shirt while Sunggyu looked down and played with his fingers. Both of them knew they were in trouble.

Mr. Lee sighed as he asked, “Care to tell me what happened?” After seeing both of them being awkwardly quiet, he sighed again and said, “I’m so disappointed in both of you. Both of you are grownups, but are acting like little kids. Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?”

Simultaneously, Sunggyu and Eunji glanced at each other but quickly looked away.

“Fine. As from now on, Sunggyu will have extra classes with you, Miss Jung. After every class, Sunggyu will stay back for an extra hour.” He paused before continuing, “I hope you two will get along through this.”

“What?!” both of them exclaimed. Eunji gaped open in disbelief and so does Sunggyu. Another extra hour, with only each other? It will be terrible for them. “But…” Eunji muttered but Mr. Lee stopped her by saying, “No buts.” Then, he went out of the class. But, he stopped his footsteps and said, “The extra class will begin tomorrow.”

After he walked out, Eunji and Sunggyu looked at each other. “Great, now I have to go for more extra classes. Great job, Eunji.” He sarcastically said to her. She glared at him before stomping her foot and marched out of the class. “Ugh, I hate this!” she said out loud.

Sunggyu couldn’t help but to laugh at her childish antics.

“So… How’s your class?” Bomi asked Eunji, who was busy slurping on her drink. They were hanging out with their friends, Chorong, Naeun, Namjoo, Yookyung and Hayoung at the mall. Apparently, Eunji was daydreaming and wasn’t paying attention.

Chorong nudged her shoulder. “Yah! What are you thinking about?”

Eunji woke up from her senses and looked at her friends. Now, all of them were looking at them. She gulped. She didn’t like the attention that she was getting now. “Oh… it’s nothing. Really.”

“You’re lying. There must be something wrong with your class.” Naeun said as she rubbed her chin, thinking about what might happened to Eunji. Suddenly, she snapped her fingers together. “I know, there must be someone new in your class, isn’t it?” She said, as if she knew there really was someone new. Eunji kept mute, opting to not say anything about her class.

“I heard there’s a new boy in your class, isn’t it?” Namjoo asked which caught Eunji by surprise. Before Eunji could even say anything, Namjoo quickly said, “His name is Sunggyu, right? My sister told me he’s cute.” She gave her a wink. Eunji mentally slapped herself. Of course she would knew, Namjoo’s little sister was a student in her class too.

“Well, he’s older than the other students, older than me too. He’s been quite a troublesome to me,” Eunji finally muttered out what she wanted to say. She sighed before continuing, “He’s been causing nothing but trouble. I hate him.”

Suddenly, all the girls except her huddled together to whisper something to each other. Then, the other girls giggled at her, which made Eunji confused. She wanted to ask why, but her tired self refrains her from doing so.

Chorong placed her hand on Eunji’s shoulder and said, “That’s why we are here at the mall. It’s time for some R&R, time to unwind!” she exclaimed, which made all of them smiled. Then, all seven of them joined their hands together and walked together around the mall, doing stuff girls normally do at the mall.

“Chorong’s right, I should just relax and unwind, forget about that boy for a while.” Eunji said to herself and joined her girls for the girls’ night out.
