“Be nice, okay _____?” your mother asked. you nodded with a smile.

“Yah _____ ! palli !” your friends called.

“Arasso!” you yelled back and gave your mother a peck on her cheek.

“Omma! I’ll be going now!” you said and ran into your school bus. You look at her from the window.

“GoodBye , Omma!” You yelled and waved. Your mother waved back.  

At your school…

“_______-ah… what did you bring for lunch?” Your bestfriend, Hyuna asked. you raised your shoulder.

“I don’t know. Omma said it’s a surprise. I cant open it until lunch time.” You said.

“Cant you open it now?” Hyuna asked. You shook your head.

 “My mother has been raising me on her own since my dad died. I’ve never done anything to her. So this is the only thing I could do, Being obedient”  Hyuna sighed in defeat. 

“ I guess I’ll have to wait till lunchtime to dig on your lunchbox.. “ You chuckeled.

You’re in the cooking class when a female teacher stormed into your home ED room.

“Lee _______ !!” She called for you. You went to her curiously.

“What is it, Miss Park?” She turned to you. She grabbed your wrist and pulled your out. 

“Where are we going, Miss Park?” You asked. your hands are hurting because of the tight grip. She stopped in front of your classroom.

“I’ll explain later. Now grab your things and follow me!” I nodded and went to take your bag.

You’re now in Miss Park’s car but you still don’t know where she’s bringing you. “Er.. Miss Park. Where are you going to bring me?” you asked. She glance at you for a second before returning her gaze to the front. “Hospital.”

“Why?” this time she turned to you.

“It’s your mom. She got stabbed by a robber .” you’re stunned. Omma got stabbed?

“Where is she stabbed?” you asked

“Heart.” Your mind went blank.

As soon as you arrived at the hospital, you stormed into the ward where the nurses said your mother is. You could see your mother’s peaceful face. You went to her .

“Omma….” You called. She’s still so peaceful.  Miss Park came into the ward with a doctor and a few nurses.

  “Miss Park, did my omma really got stabbed? She looks peaceful though.” You asked.

 The nurses look at each other. Miss Park went to you and gave you a tight hug.

 “_____-ah… Be strong..” She said. you turned to her with a strange look.

“What do you mean, Miss Park?”

“Your eommoni looks peaceful because… she’s gone.” She said, almost whispering the last part. But enough for you to hear.

You frowned. “Omma’s gone? That’s not true. I’m sure she’s just sleeping.” You said and turned to your mother.

You reached for her hand but as soon as your hand touch hers, you had the biggest shock of your whole 10 years of living.

Her hands are… icy cold.

“Omma?” you put your hand on her chest and realized her heart’s not beating. Your eyes widened.  *Please tell me it’s not true…*

“Omma!! Wake up!! You cant leave me alone in this world!” You screamed and shook your mother’s lifeless body. 

Miss Park hugged you tighter . Tears running down your cheeks heavily.  

The nurses caught you and brought you outside the ward.

 “No! Let me go! Omma!!!” you screamed. You could see people staring at you. But you ignored them and kept screaming for your mom.

 Suddenly the security came and grabbed you. You struggled but it’s useless. You’re still screaming so one of the security guards hit you hard . Your mind went blank and the world went black.

You opened the door with the spare keys hidden under the WELCOME mat. Your body still feels numb because of the security’s hard punch on your head.

*He hit hard!* you thought. You stepped inside your house.

You looked around . *It feel’s so lonely…* you sighed and went inside your room.

 You showered and changed into your PJ’s. Your stomach grumbled. You realized you haven’t eaten lunch yet.

So you took out the lunchbox your mom made you.

 *It’s probably went bad already. It’s night time already.* You opened the lunchbox and froze before started crying .

In the lunchbox isn’t the usual tuna sandwich your mom used to make but a beautiful and tasty looking strawberry cake.

But that’s not what you’re crying for. On top of the cake, there’s something written with pink candies.

It wrote ‘Happy 10^th Birthday, ______!! Your Omma loves you with all her heart!’ .
