You didn't know if it was the exhaustion pulling at Jimin's features, making him frown that way, or if he could predict what was about to happen. Maybe it was both.
"I came here as fast as I could," he said, still catching his breath as he walked into your apartment, closing the door quietly behind his back. "You didn't sound okay on the phone. What's wrong?"
You frowned deeper. He was making this a lot harder on you than you thought. You always assumed breaking up with a boy was going to be easier--that you wouldn't be so madly in love with him when it happened.
"You didn't have to," you replied, sighing. "It's late." He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into the warmth his chest once he saw the frown working its way through your features. It was funny; he was always the one comforting you, even if he was the one who needed it the most.
You sighed into him, trying your best to remember how it felt when you could hug him without feeling guilty. After a few seconds, you finally unhooked his arms, slowly pulling them away from you. "Listen, Jimin, we have to talk. You shouldn't even be out this late."
"I know," Jimin sighed, and you didn't know which part of it he was talking about. He carded a hand through his inky black locks, a ghost of a smile on his face. "It sounded like something we should talk about face to face."
