Cucumbers... Cucumbers... AAAAK!!!

Jessica’s eyes fluttered open with her knuckles turning white as she gripped tight on the sheets of her bed. Panting, she wiped the beads of sweat on her forehead with the back of her hand. She closed her eyes and sighed deeply

“Just... a dream” she muttered “It’s just a dream Jessica... there will be no giant cucumbers chasing you around... you're 220 cm, no need to fear... it’s just a dream”

After calming down and convincing herself that everything was just a dream, she opened her eyes and slowly sat up, leaning her back against the headrest and spaced out for a minute before realizing that her roommates’ beds are empty and neatly arranged

Turning to her nightstand, she saw a pink sticky note stuck on top. Knowing that it’s from her roommate that is quite obsessed with the colour, she reached over and took it

“Hey Jessi. In case you're wondering, I’m out at the library with Seohyun. We need to return the books we borrowed.

She set the note aside and reached for her beloved phone, typing a quick message to Tiffany saying that she’s read the message

Jessica was about to set her phone on the nightstand when her ringtone suddenly echoed through her room

Smiling upon reading who the caller is, she swiped ‘answer’ and pressed the device against her ear “Good Mornin’ Krys” Jessica greeted with a yawn

“Good Morning?!” a yell at the other line made Jessica distance the gadget from her ear “It’s already 2:30PM, eonni! I’ve been waiting for you for an hour already”

“You’re waiting for me?” Jessica asked “Why were you—Oh. Right” she said, realizing that she was supposed to meet up with her sister today

“Gimme 30 minutes, ok?” Jessica said scrambling to get up from her bed “Bye Soojung, love ‘ya. Mwah!” she quickly ended the call and threw her phone somewhere on her bed

Not wanting to make her little sister wait, Jessica took a quick shower and changed her clothes with the fastest record she had ever in her life. She hurried down stairs and reached their living room just to see the television with credits rolling down

Sighing, Jessica briskly walked over to the couch to look for the remote but instead—much to her surprise—she found something else

Jessica froze upon seeing two figures sleeping, leaning on each other and nearly dropped her handbag in the process

She saw Baekhyun and Taeyeon sitting on the couch with almost half of Taeyeon’s body leaning on Baekhyun’s, tucking herself under his chin 

“What the…” Jessica muttered. Seeing them in this intimate position, she would not let it pass without having a souvenir picture and with that, she quickly rummaging her bag for her phone and tapped the camera app, finding a nice angle and taking a picture of the two

Snap.

“Hey, guess what I found” she snickered as she typed and attached the picture on their group chat before pressing ‘send’

Before she could even pocket her phone, the device suddenly beeped loudly, a sign of a new notification which caused the sleeping pair on the couch stir

“Omomomo daebak!!” Sooyoung replied and after that, many messages was sent on their group chat, all at once making her phone beep unstoppably

“Hmm” Taeyeon groaned and stirred, furrowing her eyebrows before rubbing her eyes

After quickly setting her phone on silent, Jessica slid her phone back to her handbag and cleared making Taeyeon open her eyes

“Sica?” Taeyeon asked, voice still hoarse

“Ugh” Baekhyun started to move

“Wakey wakey, love birds” Jessica said with a sickeningly sweet smile and put on her sunglasses before she walked towards the front door “I’m going to meet Krystal for a while” and with that, the ice princess opened the door and walked out of the house

“What was that all about” Taeyeon muttered, still leaning on Baekhyun as she was still half asleep, barely opening her eyes

“I don’t know” Baekhyun mumbled back, cheek leaning on the top of Taeyeon’s head as he was also in the same state

Hearing the words and feeling Baekhyun’s chest vibrate against her back as he spoke; Taeyeon woke up with a start, and eyes wide open. With blood rushing to her face, she quickly pushed him away though Baekhyun’s body was a comfortable place to lean on as she experienced it first hand

“Wh-what…” she muttered, not knowing what to say as she was still unable to recover from the shock “Y-you… Y-you didn’t…” she stuttered, not knowing what to say with her index finger pointed at the guy in front of her

“I didn’t do anything to you” Baekhyun denied, feeling the warmth creeping to his cheeks “Y-you're the one who leaned on me first!” he pointed a finger towards Taeyeon and protectively covered his body with his hands

They sat there, staring at each other a little too long in a way that made goosebumps spread through Taeyeon’s body as she felt like melting under his gaze, feeling as if electricity was running through her body

Baekhyun was the first one to look away, clearing his throat awkwardly. Taeyeon watched him sigh, stand up and loosen his necktie before reaching for his blazer draped on the back of the couch and put it on. “Where is he going?” Taeyeon wondered

Grabbing his backpack, Baekhyun was about to walk past Taeyeon and Taeyeon couldn’t sit back and watch anymore. Without thinking, as if her body was moving on its own, she spun around and grabbed the hem of Baekhyun’s blazer making him step back with a tug and turn his head back to Taeyeon with questioning eyes

“Where are you going?” Taeyeon asked with her head down

“Uh…” Baekhyun scratched the back of his head, confused “Home..?”

“Can’t you st—“ Taeyeon trailed off, shaking her head at how ridiculous she was about to sound. Lifting her head to meet Baekhyun’s eyes, she wore her signature lopsided grin “Okay then. Wait here” she ordered as she let go of Baekhyun’s blazer and dashed to her room upstairs, grabbed her phone, a hoodie and put it on before going downstairs with rushed steps

“Let’s go!” Taeyeon enthusiastically grabbed Baekhyun’s wrist only to flinch and let go when electricity suddenly shook her she almost shivered resorting her to only place her hands inside the pockets of her hoodie  “What the… no, this is absurd” she shook her head mentally in efforts to set the thought aside

“Where?”

“Well duh, you said you’ll go home already so I’m seeing you off” Taeyeon shrugged “Besides, I wouldn’t want to be spoken of as someone who doesn’t know how to be hospitable” she winked and Baekhyun had to smile at that

Baekhyun advanced towards Taeyeon, making the latter step back. Frustrated, Baekhyun grabbed both of her shoulders, stopping her from stepping back further “Stay still will you? If you’re gonna see me off, can’t you look a little more presentable?” he chuckled

Baekhyun brushed Taeyeon’s hair with his long slender fingers, trying to fix it out of its messy state while Taeyeon was having trouble on her breathing, bothered by their close distance making her eyes look at everywhere except Baekhyun’s face with her hands awkwardly fumbling with the hem of her hoodie

“There” Baekhyun smiled as he swept Taeyeon’s fringe aside, tucking it behind her ear “That’s better” he took a step backward and walked towards the door, leaving Taeyeon rooted on her spot

“Hey, you going or nah?” Baekhyun asked as he opened the door, noticing that Taeyeon was still standing on the same spot he left her

“Ah! Y-yeah” Taeyeon snapped out of her trance and briskly stepped out of their house “What… Oh my god Kim Taeyeon get a grip will you?” she thought, grimacing at how she just acted like “He must really have rabies. Oh god, I must've been infected! I shouldn't have eaten from the fork he used!””

“I’ll walk you to the next block. You can ride a taxi there” Taeyeon nonchalantly said, taking out her phone from her pocket

“Mmhmm” Baekhyun hummed as he walked beside Taeyeon and they walked in silence

Taeyeon unlocked her phone, seeing tons of notifications from their group chat. “What’s this about again?” Taeyeon thought as she tapped the app and scroll through their conversation

“They look so good together!”

“SO CUTE!!”

“Ew”

“So much for ‘I don’t swing that way’”

“So ironic”

“What the heck are they talking about?” Taeyeon furrowed her brows as she scrolled further, looking for the cause of the commotion

Taeyeon suddenly stopped scrolling, her eyes widening at the sight of the picture Jessica sent and immediately tapped on it, wanting to see the whole picture

Taeyeon felt blood rush to her face as she saw the picture. “Just you wait Jessica Jung” she mentally cursed Jessica as she unconsciously gripped her phone, harshly stuffing them back in her pocket before quickening her steps with a frown

“Hey, wait up!” Taeyeon forgot about Baekhyun for a while until he jogged towards her to catch up, making slow her pace down “What’s with you?” she heard him ask

With a frown, Taeyeon shook her head; waving the question off “Those kids are mental” she mumbled and lifted her head, seeing that they already arrived in their destination “You can flag a taxi here.”

“Oh. I see” Baekhyun glanced at the area Taeyeon was pointing then glanced back to the blonde girl “Okay then. Thanks for walking me here.”

“Nah. Just to make sure you won’t get beaten up again, wimpy kid” Taeyeon sneered

Baekhyun cocked a brow and placed his hands on his hips “And is that supposed to make me feel safe?”

“Yes” The blonde girl nodded, crossing her arms across her chest

“Oh wow. I’m honoured.” Baekhyun said in a flat tone “Well, Ms. Knight in shining armor, I can handle myself now so you are now dismissed. Your services are no longer needed, thank you very much”

“Ooh I can feel the gratitude” Taeyeon dramatically clutched her chest as she walked backwards “Adios amigo” she sent out a flying kiss and grinned as she saw Baekhyun grimace “Don’t forget to treat your wounds!” she hollered before waving and turning her back.
