Baekhyun wakes up with a jolt from his nightmare of a battle between residence of the sun and patrons of the moon. He’s sweating despite the cold rush of wind that fluttered his curtains, cursing himself for not locking the windows before going to sleep. The night is cold and he shivered, quickly closing the windows and locking them before hopping back onto his bed. He has a morning class the next day which he cannot afford to miss because exams are drawing near and he hasn’t actually done well for his class tests. If only Baekhyun could actually concentrate on things that do matter.

Instead he had spent the last few weekends visiting his grandfather who lives in the outskirts of town, spending many hours seated on the floor as his grandfather tells him stories after stories of the unknown worlds of the past, stories of nightwalkers and daywalkers and forbidden lovers. And he’s greatly interested because history had always been a favourite subject, and the wonder of these fairy-tale like stories climbed up his curiosity enough for him to go searching for more information.

He goes back to sleep with thoughts of lovers that were separated by nature, images of battles that his grandfather had described in great details. He wondered if those lovers had been happy and the thought that they weren’t makes him just a little sad. But Baekhyun blames the way he feels just too easily.

Classes ended quickly due to his lecturer’s absence and Baekhyun found himself in a bookstore with an intention on finding any mythological works related to the stories his grandfather had often told him about. He’s been searching for the past hour, getting frustrated because he couldn’t find anything remotely similar to the world of day and night. He was certain that it wasn’t completely made up from his grandfather’s imaginations; he couldn’t have been so into it to make it sound so real. With a frustrated sigh, Baekhyun continues to search through the afternoon, going through shelf after shelf.

It was well into six in the evening when he finally found something that could explain a few of his questions. He wasn’t entirely satisfied because he had expected to find something about the lovers that were believed to have caused the war between the two worlds, but perhaps he should make another trip outside town and visit his grandfather again this weekend. He could always bring his notes along to study. Fishing out some cash from his pocket, Baekhyun smiles as he made payment for the book, thanking the lady at the counter – w
