The Truth About Love.

Sagittarius

From where he came from, Chanyeol was supposedly sitting right in front of the building entrance. He walked to where we stood, hugging himself with his tall limbs to give himself some warmth in this cold night. Kris and I both blinked at him in shock and confusion, both of us frozen in our states due to the surprise he caused us.

The tall latter sniffed, eyes glaring at Kris’s arms that were now kind of around me, as if he was hugging me loosely.

“Get your hands of her…” Chayeol exclaimed in annoyance, his tone wasn’t angry, just annoyed, like we’ve been teasing him or something. Kris did as he was told, his arms falling to his side, and Chanyeol huffed out in irritation, sniffing once more.

“W-what are you doing here?” I asked after clearing my throat out of embarrassment, trying to make my voice sound demanding and accusing.

“I…” He pointed to himself, his voice a bit loud. “… Have been waiting for you, princess, to come home for about 3 hours.”

I blinked at him in utter shock, ignoring the princess part. Now that he said that I realized that he was actually shaking in his place, the light clothing he wore gave little warmth to him.

“Why?”

“Because I always take you home!” He stomped his feet to the ground like a child, I raised my eyebrow at what he said.

“Is that true?” Kris turned to me, slightly annoyed.

“No!” I shouted out, surprising both of them, but mostly Chanyeol who looked back at me like I had offended his family just now.

“He’s been coming to my house a lot lately, sometimes taking me home, but not to see me!” I explained, my voice a pitch higher than it normally is.

“Then why?” Kris demanded, voice turning serious.

“He comes here for Tao…” I waved my hand in the air in frustration, announcing the reason like Kris already knew what I was talking about.

“Tao?” He raised an eyebrow.

“My roommate, I have 2, one of them is becoming Chanyeol’s new movie buddy!” I turned to him with a slight glare, grinding on my teeth as I stared back at him in anger.

Chanyeol stared at me with a smirk, like announcing that I was living with 2 guys in one apartment was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my life. Honestly, I had started to believe it was a mistake to say so.

A girl living with 2 guys doesn’t look so expensive and classy to me.

“You’re living together with 2 guys?” He asked, and I nodded, eyes falling to the ground in shame. Chanyeol’s smirk was already widening by now.

“That…” Kris stopped, suddenly chuckling. I raised my eyes to look at him, a bit confused, and Chanyeol seemed to be too.

“What else don’t I know about you?” Kris was laughing, but not in mockery, he was laughing like he just discovered something great, looking at me in amusement. I just stood rooted in my place, not able to answer because I was confused as to what was happening.

“Lee Ji eun…” He started, biting on his lower lip as he smiled at me. “… You’re becoming more and more interesting.”

I smiled nervously, rubbing the back of my neck. Checking out Chanyeol through the corner of my eyes, I found that his mouth was slightly agape, eyes wide in shock.

“I think I’m starting to like you…” He smiled widely at me, and I felt my cheeks heating up at what he said.

Before Chaneyol could say anything else, I suddenly found myself being pulled towards Kris and something warm and moist came in contact with my lips.

My eyes widened so much in realization of what just happened. Kris moved away and was staring back at me with a wide smile, biting on his lower lip.

Kris just kissed me. Right now, right here, with Chanyeol standing next to us.

“I’ll see you soon then…” he exclaimed, before leaning once more and planting a small kiss on my cheek. He lingered for a second, his breath tickling my skin, before he whispered.

“Does Sunday sound good?” He breathed out, and I nodded slowly, a bit too dazed for my own good.

He finally stepped back, patted Chanyeol’s shoulder as he was still frozen in his place, staring at us in shock still, and turned to leave. A minute later, he was out of sight, leaving me and Chanyeol in the cold street alone.

“The ?” Chanyeol suddenly breathed out, breaking the silence. I turned to look at him before a small smile crept on my face.

“Oh No, don’t tell me you just fell for that.” Chanyeol exclaimed in frustration. I couldn’t do anything but laugh at the whole thing, the guy just knew how to get through me, and I may have let him.

“That... was the cutest thing anybody’s ever done to me” I looked up at him, my smile widening, he just rolled his eyes at me, and shook his head in disagreement.

“You’re easy…” He shot at me but I was still too happy to care.

“Maybe, but he’s something. He made the whole night better just by being there, and the only time he touched me this whole night was just now!” I exclaimed, the last part a bit accusing his techniques with other girls.

He scoffed loudly.

“He’s leading you on, acting like a gentleman and all just to lead you on you idiot…” He exclaimed in mockery, but I ignored him, rolling my eyes at his stupid comment, and walked inside the building.

The ride inside the elevator was too long and silent for my liking. I could catch Chanyeol’s reflection in the metallic doors staring back at me. He seemed pissed off, slightly disappointed, and I couldn’t help but feel small and nervous under his hard gaze.

The ding announced that we reached our destined floor. Letting out a breath I didn’t know I was holding, I moved out as fast as I could, almost running to my apartment. A part of me wanted him gone, another part wanted to know why he was still following me, and why he seemed so disappointed in me.

I searched through my bag, my breath suddenly hitching when I heard the shuffling of footsteps right behind me.

“Can we talk?” Came out his smooth, velvety voice, and I felt myself gulping upon hearing it. My hands felt so clammy that my keys slid out of them, I cursed under my breath, crouching down to grab them. A shaky breath came out of my mouth as I felt a burning touch on my skin, my eyes travelled upwards and were met by a pair of deep, chocolate brown orbs staring right back at me.

He stood up first, keys in his hand, and opened the door for us both, standing aside for me to enter before him. Shoes, jackets, and bags aside, we walked silently to the living room, my eyes darting to where Tao and Suho sat next to each other, one with his face in a book, the other watching something on TV intently.

Suho heard us coming in, his head raised to meet me with a warm smile, falling instantly when he caught Chanyeol walking right behind me.

“You again…” He gritted on his teeth, standing up from his seat.

“If you need us, we’ll be in my room…” I exclaimed with a hushed tone, ignoring Suho’s widened eyes that were staring at me in a mixture of shock and confusion.

Chanyeol nodded his head at them, following me silently to me room.

He walked inside, closing the door behind him, watching me as I sat on my bed, hugging my knees to my chest, revealing too much skin, due to my short attire. I noticed he stared for a second, before gulping, eyes falling to the ground, with his face showing a peachy colour.

“We had a deal, remember?” He asked suddenly, breaking the silence. My eyes shot up at him in confusion. I stayed silent for a few minutes, my eyes searching his, before I looked away.

“You’re implying…?” I asked, eyes still avoiding his. He cleared his throat and moved to the widow, looking outside at the dark, empty street.

“I’m implying that you’re already giving up on Baek…”

He looked back at me, and so did I to him, eyes meeting for second before I broke I contact first.

“So…?” I asked innocently, and he scoffed.

“Do you like him?” The question surprised me, but I tried to act as if it didn’t.

“I’m not sure…”

“So you do…” He mocked, biting on his lower lip as he chuckled to himself, before he took in a deep breath, suddenly turning serious.

“You do realize that you liking someone else ruins our plan, don’t you?”

I nodded.

“And you’re okay with that?” He pressed.

“I don’t know what you want me to say…”

“I want to know what happened. We were doing fine before Kris…” Chanyeol seemed genuinely pissed off, but that didn’t mean I feared him in any way.

“It was one date…” I retorted, looking at him in irritation. “… And it honestly has nothing to do with Kris. I gave up after thinking about the whole thing.”

Chanyeol walked to my bed, sitting on the edge opposite to me, scowl now evident on his face.

“Do enlighten me…”

“Why do you care?” My voice was slightly pissed off, he noticed, I can tell by how he looked back at me, but he didn’t comment, he just let his eyes roam around the room before they fell back on me.

“You’re like giving Baekhyun to her on a golden plate.” He stated.

It was my turn to scoff, looking away from him.

“So what?! What if I actually decided to move on?”

“So suddenly?”

“I don’t have to explain anything to you…” I spat, glaring at him.

“You actually have to when there’s a deal between us!” He shouted at me, standing up abruptly.

“Is that all you care about?! The stupid plan? Ruining your best friend’s wedding just so you can have your happily ever after?!” I stood up facing him, still glaring at him with my voice accusing.

“HAH!” He scoffed loudly. “… Look who’s talking...” He mocked, and my hands balled into fists at his demeaning tone.

“I may have agreed to this plan, but fortunately I came to my senses, I hope you will too…” I turned around to leave, my blood boiling at how indecent and blunt he was. How can a person be this selfish, ruin people’s lives just to have a perfect one himself?

Before my hand even meets the knob, I found my arm being grabbed forcefully, Chanyeol turned me around to face him, slamming my back to the door and glaring down at me. It felt like Déjà vu, like that day we fought in his office. My knees were already shaking at the memory, and I did all I could to avoid looking up at him.

“He was the one who started it when he went on with the wedding, knowing that I was in love with his fiancée.” He whispered in a low, husky tone that sent chills down my spine. “If someone’s selfish, it should be him…”

“That’s not true, and you know it…” I looked up at him, my voice weak and shaky.

At that, he stepped away a little, giving me a space to breath, his eyes searching mine.

“Have you ever thought about how obsessive you sound right now? She’s someone that you never even had the guts to confess too, you never talked to her until Baekhyun introduced her to you. How is it even possible that you go around, claiming you’re in love with her, when you never even got to know her like Baekhyun did, huh?!”

Chanyeol stared back at me silently, seemingly never expecting me to attack him in such way. He shifted on his feet uncomfortably, opening his mouth once or twice to speak, but nothing came out. A part of me felt confident that I managed to shut him up, and I watched him as he walked past me, opening the door and slamming behind him as he stepped out of the room, a few seconds later, I heard the door to the apartment close, and a knock resonated at my door.

Letting out a deep breath, I turned around, opening the door to be met by Suho and Tao, staring at me in worry.

We spent the night in the living room, all three of us sleeping on top of each other, limbs sprawled around. Even though we talked till dawn about what happened, telling them all about the date with Kris, Chanyeol, why I decided to change my mind, I slept like a baby, sandwiched between my two best friends.

It was the day that I met Taeyeon that I realized my true feelings for Baekhyun, or lack thereof. I had once loved him, but it was long ago, and all this time I’ve been delusional, convincing myself that I still felt something for him, just like Chanyeol did with Taeyeon.

The day I met Taeyeon was one of the hardest in my whole life, but it got me realizing one thing.

I wasn’t jealous because she got Baekhyun and I didn’t, I was jealous because she was so much better than me in all aspects, with her tall, blonde, gorgeous hair, her beautiful, radiating skin, the combination of cuteness and iness in one person.

I was jealous because she honestly made me feel so lacking.

That day, I went to bed, thinking that it was already time to move on, and that it was no use to fight it, Baekhyun and I weren’t meant to be. No matter how hard I tried, no matter how much I planned. No matter how wrong or right I believed it may be, if we were meant to be together, it wouldn’t have taken this long, it wouldn’t have been this hard, Taeyeon would’ve never come between us.

But she did, she came into his life, and he fell for her, hard, and no matter how much I tried, nothing would ever change that fact.

Chanyeol didn’t show up at work the next day, nor the day after. Actually, I didn’t see him for a 5 days after that small argument we had. Baekhyun would come by every day to talk about some wedding preparations, and when Monday came, Kris and I had our perfect second date.

Things were turning out just fine, even though I would still get a bit jealous whenever Baekhyun would talk about Taeyeon lovingly, I learned to hold it in, and in a few days, it already stopped hurting, because I was busy thinking about someone else. Someone who stepped into my life and swept me off my feet in the most romantic way.

It wasn’t until Thursday that Chanyeol finally reappeared, he entered the meeting room ten minutes after the meeting had already started. Our eyes met once, when he noticed Kris sitting next to me, his eyes wandered around other places, and he avoided looking at me until the meeting ended, which was 45 minutes later.

When we got out of the meeting room, Kris was already holding my hand as we walked, planning our next date. Baekhyun had commented once on how close we started to get, and there was no denial in that, I was honestly getting more and more hooked on the blonde male.

Kris and I separated at the door of my office, he pecked me on the cheek and left, I watched him turning to a corner before opening the door to my office and walking in. Closing the door behind me, I leaned my back against it and breathed out a sigh of content.

“Hey…” I shrieked as I jumped in my place, a deep voice startling me. Chanyeol came out of the reception area, barely smiling at me as he moved closer. My eyes studied his for a second before he stopped a meter away from me, keeping his smile on his face.

“Hi…” I answered simply, moving past him and walking to my desk, my heart thumping loudly, definitely due to the shock. I felt a bit happy seeing him here, not sure why though. It felt like I’ve actually missed him, but never realized until he stood right in front of me.

I occupied my office chair and grabbed some folders, busying myself to look away from him. He just stood in front on the desk, fairly silent and hesitant for some reason.

“I uh…” He started before clearing his throat. My eyes were raised to him, and a blush crept on my face when I found myself staring at his dark red, slightly ed shirt, showing a bit of milky skin underneath.

“I’m here to apologize about last time…” He finally said.

“It’s fine.” I answered simply, turning back to the folders.

“I thought about what you said though…” My hands started trembling slightly, and my lower lip found its place comfortably between my teeth.

“I think you were right and I wanted to ask if you were free tonight.”

“Why?” I turned to look at him again.

“I wanna ask you out, as an apology.” A smile crept on his face and I found myself staring at him in utter confusion.

“It’s not necessary, I already forgave you Chanyeol.” I forced a small smile, already feeling my breath hitch at the idea of us going on a date.

“Even so, I just want to have dinner with you tonight.” He pressed again, and I was starting to get nervous, not really knowing how I can get myself out of this.

“I’m not that bad Ji…” He chuckled nervously, and I turned to look at him, feeling a little guilty for some reason.

“What time…?” I whispered.

“What?”

“What time…?”

A wide smile crept on his face, genuine this time, and I felt myself smiling internally, but not knowing the reason though.

“What time do you get out of work today?”

“I leave at three.”

“How about I pick you up at eight?”

I stared back at him for a second, before nodding hesitantly. He flashed me another wide smile, looking a bit goofy, yet cute as he did, and I couldn’t help but mirror it.

“Okay, see you tonight then…” He his heel and walked to the door, back straight and head held high like had just accomplished the impossible.

He opened the door, but before stepping outside, he turned back to me.

“Before I forget, don’t overdue your outfit today, pick something casual…” he then walked out and closed the door, leaving me staring behind him, frozen.

What have I just agreed to?

Even though he said he was picking me up at eight, I started getting ready from about 6: 30. I took a shower first, pulled my hair into a high ponytail and left it to air dry. I then opened my closet, throwing clothes around here and their when I found them overly sophisticated or too casual.

I had already started with my makeup, ignoring the weird looks Suho and Tao were giving me every time I wiped my face and started over. All the while a loud thumping of my heart would reach my ears, drowning almost everything out, I just wanted to get this night over with.

I had my laptop right in front of me, almost 5 tabs loading. I had to know everything I could about Sagittarians, just to make sure he won’t be trying to make me fall for him or something.

An article caught my eyes, I tapped on it and started reading through the information provided about Sagittarian males.

‘Sagittarius Man in questions…’

I read the headline, biting on my lower lip, I pushed myself to read further more in the article, and it wasn’t like I was trying to find out how to seduce him or anything. So here goes, the first question…

‘What are Sagittarius men like in bed?’

My eyes widened at the question, seriously? Have some decency woman!

I averted my eyes elsewhere, feeling the heat creep up to my cheeks, a part of me a bit curious for the answer. It wouldn’t hurt to know, would it? It’s just for research. Yes, research!

Being highly physical he is likely to associate love with , or at least more so than most people do. Bold and passionate, he is also likely to be very open and direct ually. From personal experiences in life, you’d eve realize that a Sagittarius male is one of the best in bed…’

Huh, who knew?

Okay so the second question.

‘How loyal are Sagittarius men?’

Nice one!

‘This isn't a sign prone to cheating; however the Sagittarius man will value his freedom, and hate the idea of being trapped. This is an important area to acknowledge, as he may be unwilling to commit unless reassured he can still have his space…’

you and your space, does having freedom mean you can go ing around like you do right now?

I puffed my cheeks at the answer, but willed myself to go on reading.

‘Sagittarius man weaknesses?

As with other intelligent signs he can be seen as lazy and undisciplined. Lacking a deep understanding of emotions he can also be seen as too blunt or shallow by more emotionally intense signs…’

Well you got that right.

My eyes then travelled to the last question, widening a bit as I felt another rush of heat creep through my whole body, my heart thumping loudly as I read every word.

‘How to make a Sagittarius male fall in love with you? I mean, how do you know if he’s even interested?’

I closed the tab, looking at myself in the mirror. My face looked like a bright tomato, my lips pouty and bruised from all the abuse it was getting. I cupped my cheeks with my hand, willing all the sudden inappropriate thoughts that were roaming around my mind about Chanyeol.

To think that I was happily dating a Chinese lawyer, now I’m going on a date with his step brother. I felt filthy, I really did, and a part of me wanted to call Chanyeol to blow the whole thing off, but another part of me wanted to go on with this date, in fact, that part even urged me to check the answer to that last question.

With a deep breath, I turned to the history tab, loading the page once more and scrolling down till I reached the question. Biting on my lip once more, I took a deep breath and started reading carefully.

‘1- Show you have a good sense of humour.
The number one rule for attracting a Sagittarius man is to make him laugh – and by this we mean a rip-roaring, rumbustious belly laugh, not just a polite little giggle…’

I scoffed. Me? Make Chanyeol laugh? HAH!

‘2- They’re constantly turned off by people who are constantly about their problems.

3- Play it straight and be 100% honest.

It is best not to hold anything back, even the things you find embarrassing. These guys are sticklers about honesty.

If you break his trust once, he’s unlikely to ever trust you again…’

I stared back at this sentence, so I had to be completely honest, how I feel about this date and all, I guess. He’ll probably respect me when I tell him that it is a horrible idea to try his luck with someone like me. Yeah, probably so.

‘4- Be an outrageous flirt…’

Wait, What?!

‘Tempt him with the promise of a new and exciting love experience by making it super clear you’re interested and available. You can’t over-flirt with a Sagittarian – these guys can’t get enough of it, as they are one of the biggest teases in the Zodiac.

But the most important thing to do is…

Cut him some slack.

Always.

They’re free spirited individuals that don’t like to be held down by any ties…’

I bit on my lower lip as I closed the tab, my cheeks flushed red and my heart beating. Somehow Chanyeol never seemed more appealing to me, like a challenge I had to win. With a determined gaze, I looked up to the mirror and willed myself to move. Letting out a deep breath, I collected my confidence that had been splattered around every time I met Chanyeol, and willed myself to stay strong.

This is something I wanted so suddenly, but I had to do it.

I have, no…

I need to impress Park Chanyeol.
