Chapter 11
The Nuisance That is Lee Hyukjae“WHAT?!”
“ARE YOU CRAZY?!”
“I think he’s finally lost it.”
Kyuhyun smirked in self-satisfaction. The responses were exactly what Kyuhyun had expected when he came up with the idea. Whilst playing games earlier he had found himself growing bored, and bored was never something he felt when previously playing. Despite how good he was he never grew tired of beating people, of discovering new ways to cheat or the challenge of a particularly strong player. But since he had begun teasing (a better word to use would be playing with) Sungmin, nothing compared. Nothing gave him the same feeling of satisfaction as when the feisty blonde was reduced to a cute blushing mess by his constant teasing (although it would often backfire and he’d end up paying a visit to the nurse’s office.)
That’s way he had come up with this plan. What better way was there to annoy Sungmin than going on a date with him? Plus, by involving the monkey and the fish, it would hopefully give his best friend a push in the right direction.
“So…how ‘bout it?”
“WHAT?!”
“ARE YOU CRAZY?!”
“I think he’s finally lost it.”
Kyuhyun was dragged down the hallway, by a very pissed off Hyukjae, who seemed to be searching for something. Shoved into the bathroom (ah that’s what he was looking for), he loudly called out “I don’t think Hae would appreciate us doing it here, but if you insist.”
“Do you want to die?” Hyuk hissed as soon as the door was shut behind them. “By all means do what you want to mess with Sungmin and your ed up relationship because lets be honest, everyone seems to realise that you like each other but you two. But do NOT drag Hae and I into it. We’ve finally reached a level where he’s comfortable with me and I don’t need you ing this up.”
“Wow,” Kyu scoffed, “do you seriously think I’d do something to hurt you and Donghae’s relationship? This is for your own good. Whilst it’s true that on the romantic side I’m not really in a position to be giving you love advice, on the logical side anyone with eyes could see the love between the two of you and as your best friend since we were four, it is my duty to get you to see that too.”
Hyukjae sighed. Kyuhyun was right; Hyuk wasn’t sure how long he could put it off for in fear of getting hurt. For a lack of a better word, this week had been nothing short of perfect. Seeing Donghae interact with his family had given him a sense of what it would be like if they were in a relationship, and he wasn’t ready to let go.
“Fine. I’ll ask out Hae if you ask out blondie.”
“Hyuk, if you wanted me to ask you ou
