I was distracted during dinner as the family sat there watching another one of those cheesy Hong Kong dramas. A guy wears a wig and mum cracks up. Laughter around the  table. Suddenly my iPhone makes a wee notification sound and I realise I've placed it on the table in the living room. I temporarily ignore that and keep eating my dinner.

*** after dinner everyone gathers around for fruit and I wander over to the living room to check out my phone. 

"Julian has added you as a friend on Whatsapp."

I felt myself freeze but my heart rapidly raced on.
