"I'm seriously about to throw up," I stated simply to Mrs. Kim as she fluffed out the small train of my dress.
"No you're not- not in this dress," she retorted and I gave a weak laugh.
Just then, Mr. Kim, my saving grace, walked in, "The officiant just showed up," he announced to Mrs. Kim.
"Ah, great. I'll greet him in just a minute. I need to put the finishing touches on our bride here," she smiled grandly.
I'm fairly sure the dress had maximum sweat stains by now.
She poked and prodded and fluffed a bit more powder on my face before finally saying, "You look absolutely gorgeous, Jinhee. You make a beautiful bride." The edges of her eyes crinkled in true contentment.
"Thank you," I said hoarsely.
"Don't worry. I'm going to go out now, but Jinsoo will come get you in a few minutes, okay? I'll see you out there~" she cooed with one final blot of powder.
She exited the room and I looked at my reflection in the mirror.
I'm getting married. Holy , I'm getting married.
I heard a knock on the door and spun around, "Come in!" I called. Jinsoo ran in, out of breath.
"You okay?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah... I just... Didn't know... How much time... We had..." He said in between breaths. I laughed and came forward to pat his shoulder.
"All is forgiven, little brother," I said cheerfully.
He gulped, "So, are you ready?"
I sighed, "Not really, but... I guess it'd be too cliché if I said 'As I'll ever be,'" I joked and he laughed. It was nice to have him around at that moment.
"Then let's do this," he in a breath and held out his arm for me to hold.
We walked out of the powder room the garden staff let us use, and down the path toward the clearing. I saw some people on the trail and across the way gawking and pointing at us.
"Wow, what a beautiful bride!" I heard one say.
"What a nice place for a wedding," another one said.
"Ah, she looks so young! I remember being that age," still another said.
I decided to be brave and held up my head with a smile. Why is it that it's the comments of strangers that seemingly affect us the most?
When we got closer to the clearing, I heard the loud whispers of Mrs. Kim and who I assumed to be the officiant. When they saw us, they immediately hushed and stood in their places and stared at Jinsoo and I as we came down the aisle. And then I met Taehyung's eyes. I really couldn't tell what they held: maybe some pride, some wonder or amusement, that love I mentioned before (the "important person" kind, just to clarify), and some other things I had a hard time discerning. All I knew was that as soon as our gazes met, all that worry from earlier melted away. Why had I been nervous?
I looked over gratefully at Jinsoo, who unwound my arm from his and placed my hand into Taehyung's outstretched one. The officiant started saying the lines I had heard over and over on television and read in books, but I barely heard him. All I could focus on was the small smile Taehyung provided. It wasn't anything especially huge- just a welcoming, comforting smile. A smile I was very grateful for.
I repeated after the officiant for the vows, Taehyung doing the same thing, and Mr. Kim came forward with the rings. I honestly hadn't even thought about that, but I guess the Kims did. And somehow mine slipped onto my finger perfectly. By the time we had reached "You may now kiss the bride," I had completely forgotten about that. I panicked, not sure what I was supposed to do because Taehyung and I had never discussed it. But before I could do or say anything, he leaned in and delivered one small, soft, chaste kiss to my lips. I blushed madly while Jinsoo and the Kims clapped for us, all of them crying.
"We did it," Taehyung nudged me.
"Yeah," I grinned, "We did it."

Some of you might be wondering:
Did they do the do? Did they dance the no pants dance? Did they roast the broomstick? Stuff the muffins? Frolic in the cornfield? Park the beef bus in tuna town? Tie true love's knot?
In case you weren't wondering: Good for you! Thank you for respecting others' personal boundaries.
In case you were wondering: Let me give you a small hint. *Ahem*
Hell no.
Right after the wedding, we went back to the hotel and had a quick dinner before we packed up and got on our return flight.
Keep it in your pants, kids.
Anyway, the first thing I did when I got back home was to lock myself in the bathroom and stare at the ring. God, it was gorgeous. It was very plain, though, nothing special- but that in itself was special to me. It was a thick silver band with a single diamond in the center, with two much smaller diamonds on either side. I mentally thanked the Kims for acknowledging my low-key sense of style.
I had a hard time touching it at first, though. I knew I had to take it off at school, because that's what Taehyung and I agreed on, but I didn't want to put it in a box or let it sit somewhere for God knows how long- or, heavens forbid, have it get lost. Then, with a quick flash of creativity and resourcefulness, I decided I would wear it on a necklace. I had no idea what Taehyung was going to do with his, but it put a small dash of reassurance in my heart to keep it on in some form. Almost as if it was saying, "This is proof that I have a stable life. This is proof that I can take care of myself and my brother."
I strung the ring around the silver chain of a necklace I found in the depths of the boxes from when Jinsoo and I moved. I stared happily at it in the mirror, rubbing it between my thumb and index finger.

"Congratulations, Mrs. Kim, you are officially this young man's legal guardian!" I flinched at the so
