I squeeze his hand tight as we wander down the corridor, my eyes beginning to sting from the intensity of the white walls.

We stay in silence, listening out for anyone who is approaching. Even if we did talk, I have nothing interesting to talk about. All I want to do is escape, run away from here. 

But can we?

They could so easily track us down, it's crazy. 

Getting lost in my own thoughts I don't pay attention to anything around me, my feet just moving forward without question. 

"Don't you think it's strange" Kai whispers, pulling me gently to the side.

"What?" I say this in a dazed state, looking into his eyes.

"They haven't come looking for us even though we are nearly half way through the building"

"Half way?" My eyes widen "We are that far already?" 

He rolls his eyes "Day dreamer" he then smiles "Still I'm not taking any chances, lets try and get out whilst we can" 

"Try?" I scoff "You don't sound to confident in our escape"

"Truthfully I think this is all too easy" His voice has a dark tinge to it,  sending a shiver down my spine. 

I nod in agreement, on my guard as we continue through the hallway. I then hear crackling around the walls, hurting my ears a little "That sound is annoying..."

Kai looks at me like I spoke pig Latin "Sound? What sound?"

"That god damn crackling, can't you hear it?" 

As I say that a voice squawks out of a speaker in the corner of the room 

'You won't get much further, those chips in your hands let us control everything you do'

I frown, looking around in anger "Then why let us get this far" I hiss 

'Because we wanted to see how far you got untill you heard our signal'

"The...crackling?" I question, seeing Kai reaching for something out of my sight. 

'Exactly, looks like we need to improve on it since it was meant to paralise you temporarily quite a while ago' 

"You won't get that far in your attempts to keep us here" Kai shouts this and brings my hand close to his chest, I start to become confused yet scared of his expression.

'Is that so?  You are just test subjects! The girl seems to be the one who is going to get used first since her power is rapidly improving'
