The Way to your Heart (Ravi)

VIXX Tales (One Shot Collections)

Lee Misun frowned at the man who was too busy trying to open the door that would lead to his room, just right beside her apartment. It was early in the morning that she usually went to her work place, a Music School Centre where she taught piano.

Lee Misun wasn’t particularly familiar with her neighbour. Sure, she bumped into him early in the morning where she would go to work and he just got back from wherever he went. And she would also meet him back in the evening after going home from work, while he on the other hand is off to somewhere.  She concluded that her neighbour worked during the evening. She called him nocturnal. They were the exact opposite of each other. She was always prim and proper. A feminine yeoja who likes to wear pastel tones and dresses. He on the other hand, was rather..... cool? She wasn’t sure what to call his sense of style. He always wore snap backs or beanies paired with jeans that almost showed his underwear if he bends too much. Swag. Yes, that’s the word, she heard some of her students use that word meaning cool. To sum it up, his fashion sense was full of swag.

“Good morning.” Misun greeted. They weren’t particularly close with each other. But he was her neighbour after all, she at least need to be polite.

“Hi. Good morning to you too.” He said. Actually he was quite a nice man. He smiled at her and his eyes creased in a crescent moon shape.

Misun acknowledged him and left for work. That was the only interaction between her and her neighbor since she lived there for almost a month. She even didn’t know his name. She found that he lived there earlier than her. There were only two apartment units on the third floor of the building. Needless to say, it was only the two of them who live on the third floor.

~~~~~
Misun went home earlier that day because one of her private students called in sick. Since she just received her salary three days ago, she decided to spend her time buying groceries that would last her a month. Transportation wasn’t a problem for her, since she called a cab. Usually, she doesn’t have any problem with carrying 5 or 6 huge bags of groceries, but today was just not her day. Unfortunately for her, the elevator was out of order, so she had no choice but to use the stairs.
“Uhm... do you need some help?”
Misun looked up only to find her neighbour smiling down softly at her.  As usual, he was ready to leave somewhere. His outfit was too bright for her liking though. He was wearing a neon green beanie (which kind of made him looked like a light bulb), a jacket with what looks like he had the galaxy on as his sleeves with white v-neck shirt on the inside, and his usual jeans and kicks.
“Oh, yes please. If you don’t mind.” She said.
“No problem with that.” He smiled at her again and took all the plastic bags from her hands.
He lifted it so easily. Well, he was a man after all. Misun was closely following him and when they reached her apartment door, Misun keyed her pass code and opened the door. Her neighbour just kept on standing there which made her confused.
“Should I put your things inside?” He said.
“Oh!” Misun gasped. “Ah, yes. Just put it there.” She pointed at her kitchen counter which is only close on the entrance. “I can manage this myself. Thank you.”
“You are welcome.” He smiled.
She smiled back at him. Her guess was right. He was a nice man. But still, she still wasn’t comfortable enough to have him at her apartment.
“Well, I’ll get going now.” Her neighbor bowed a little, “See you.. uhm..” He looked at her expectantly, silently asking her for her name.
Misun understood his gesture and she answered, “Lee Misun.”
“Ah, right! See you... uhm.... Misun ssi.” He said as he turned around to walk out of her apartment.
“Oh! By the way.... I’m Wonshik. Kim Wonshik.” He said as he turned around and faced her again.
“Yes. Be careful on your way, Wonshik ssi.”
Wonshik only nodded and left her apartment for real this time. Misun looked at his back until its gone from her sight. She just shrugged her shoulders and started sorting out her groceries. Well, at least now she knew her neighbor’s name.
~~~~~

Kim Wonshik only  yawned as he keyed in his passcode. His life cycle wasn’t particularly like what normal people have.  He worked at night and slept at day. Well, it was his job after all, it is source of his living. And as long as this job was paying the bills, he had no options but to stick with it.

He is an underground rapper at a local club and a good one at that as well. He also side lines as a DJ sometimes if he was not rapping. The club was quite popular in Seoul. The night life was his world. Alcoholic drinks, dancing on the floor, and ladies who are trying to hook up with a rich man was the usual stuff for him. So when he met his new neighbor, he quite amaze. Amazed with the fact that a woman like her still exists.

The only time he was able to talk  with his neighbor were only a few greeting of “Good Morning” and “Good evening”. Nothing more than that. Until he saw her looking trouble with her plastic bags. The elevator decided to be a nuisance that day and stopped working. Being a gentleman, he should help her right? So that was what he did. After that, finally he knew her name. Lee Misun.

Well, it was only normal to know ones neighbor’s name. He remembered that this Lee Misun girl has already lived beside his unit for quite some time now, a month if he wasn’t mistaken. He thought that was proper and polite enough to ask her name.

Wonshik rubbed his sleepy eyes and tried to enter his pass code again. It seems that he entered the wrong code. The door wouldn’t just open. Aigoo… maybe because he was too tired after having rapping 5 songs last night and was requested to DJ for four hours straight. He promised to himself to sleep well today and reduce his alcohol consumption.

“Good morning, Wonshik ssi.” He heard that familiar cheerful voice.

Beep! Finally he entered the right pass code. Seems that her voice could freshen up his dull brain.

“Good morning, Misun ssi.” He answered as he turned around and smiled at her.

“Oh! Wait here.” Misun said then she disappeared behind her apartment door.

He only tilted his head in confusion but still he waited for her anyway.

She came out holding a paper back and handed it to him. “Here.” She said.

“What’s this?” Wonshik asked bluntly. But he still took the paper bag from her hands.

She blushed a bit. “Uhm... You help me out yesterday. I think I have to give something to you as a sign of gratitude.”

“Oh…” Wonshik only nodded. Then again he was amazed at her once again. He never knew that woman could blush cutely like that. All blushing woman that he saw was drunk and shouted nonsense things. “Uhm... Thanks again.” He finally said.

“Aniyo, I’m the one who must thank you.” Misun said.”Well, I’ll see you around Wonshik ssi.”

“Ah, you’re going to work?” Wonshik asked.

“Yes.”

“Oh.” He didn’t know what to say anymore.

“Okay..” Misun only nodded and left.

Wonshik just nodded at her and entered his apartment. He checked the paper bag from Misun only to find apples, oranges, a big carton of milk and a jar of honey.

“Well, a health freak I guess?” He chuckled and took a bite at the apple.

~~~~~
            “Aish! Chincha! Why did she insist me on accompanying her to go shopping?” Misun grumbled under her breath.
Her friend in her work place, Eunbi, wanted to go shopping because there was a huge sale going on. They went after work and she got back home later than usual. Both of the lived in a different area from each other, so they took different bus. Eunbi already got on her bus while Misun was still waiting for hers.
Misun wasn’t a night  person. She felt uncomfortable when she still outside when the sun had set. She took a glance at her watch, and it was already 10 pm. She tapped her feet impatiently. Usually there were still buses available at this time.
“Hey, pretty lady~” She heard a rough voice.
She shivered. Oh no. Not this!! She turned her head a little just to find a group of male approached her. There was no choice, she must run! The hell with bus! Why didn’t she take a taxi instead? Gosh! This is what she gets for splurging too much money for shopping earlier. Now she regretted it.
Misun walked away with fast pace. She tried to make her distance widen with those men. She was panicking and her eyes was darting left and right searching for taxi. Oh God! Why are there no taxis around?
“Don’t be scared, girl! We’ll help you!” One of those men shouted and the rest laughed.
“Oh God!” Misun clasped her hand. “Please help me.”
She was too busy to look around and too frantic. She didn’t realize that she bumped to someone.
“Oh. No!” She gasped.
“What are you doing here?”
Misun tilted her head up and she never felt this glad in her whole life. “Wonshik ssi!!” She gasped.
“Hey, Wonshik!” One of the man who was chasing her called out to him, “That’s ours! You search another woman.”
Wonshik frowned. Now he what was happening  right now. Then he grabbed Misun’s shoulder and wrapped his hand around her. Misun gasped and looked up at him but Wonshik didn’t looked down at her. He looked sternly at those men.
“Yah, Sungjae-ah. This lady right here is my girlfriend. You played around with the wrong girl.” Wonshik said.
He could feel Misun’s body tense. He gripped her more,  then leaned to her ear and said, “Play along, Misun ssi.”
“What? You’re lying right?” asked Sungjae.
“I’m not.” Wonshik shook his head, “May I introduce her to you, this is Misun, my baby girl.” He leaned down to her and brushed his lips on her temple.
Misun tensed up some more and blushed so hard.
“So why you let your girl wander around alone?” Asked the other man with stylish hairdo.
“I’m about to meet her here, Ilhoon-ah. But well, I caught up with Manager Han.” Wonshik told them lies so smoothly. “This is her first time here, so she’s kind of nervous.”
“Tsk! Better you take care of your girl well, Wonshik-yah!” Said Sungjae.
“So she won’t get bothered by guys like you?” Wonshik chuckled.
“That’s exactly what I mean.” Sungjae laughed.
“Nope. No one can touch her.” Wonshik hugged Misun tighter.
“Arraseo!” Sungjae raised his hands in surrender. “Well, I go inside then. I’ll search for another woman to have fun with.”
“Wise choice.” Wonshik smiled.
As those men entered the club, Misun sighed and covered her face with her palm.
“Oh, God..” She mumbled.
“What are you doing out here?” Wonshik asked.
“I.. I’m waiting for the bus.” Misun said still in daze. She was really scared and shocked! Never in her life will she go home late at night again.
“Hey..” Wonshik took a look closer at her, “Are you okay?”
“I’m scared, Wonshik ssi. Thank you! Thank you so much! I’m glad that you are here.” Misun said almost crying.
“It’s okay, it’s okay.” Wonshik patted her shoulder. “You are safe now.”
Misun nodded her head frantically. “By the way, why are you here?” Misun couldn’t help but ask. She was really curious.
“Uhm... I actually work here.” Wonshik pointed at the club with a huge glowing sign.
“Oh.” Misun nodded. Now that explains why they always bumped to each other but with different direction.
“I’ll take you home.” Said Wonshik.
“Is that okay with you?” Asked Misun.
“You think that I will leave you alone here?”
Misun only shook her head.
“Let’s go.” Wonshik took hold of her left hand, “Don’t let go of my hand, okay?”
Misun nodded.
Wonshik lead the way and got inside the club. Misun was shocked at the situation. Loud music blared. People dancing crazily. Men and women grinded their body against each other. Some of them were even kissing senselessly on one corner. Misun gripped her hand on Wonshik’s arm tighter and snuggled her face to his arm, trying to block away all the scenes.
Wonshik felt it and turned around to face her, “You okay?” He shouted against the loud music.
Misun just shook her head.
“My motorcycle is in the basement. We’re almost there.” Wonshik shouted again as he pointed at a staircase on one corner.
They walked as fast as they could. There just too much people and they had a hard time slipping of in  between them. Finally, they reach the stairs. They went down and the music was no longer that loud. Misun still clung to Wonshik even thought they already reached the place where Wonshik parked his motorcycle.
“Misun ssi.” Wonshik called out.
“Yes?”
“Uhm.... I have to turn on the engine.” Wonshik tilted his head to where Misun clutched her hands on him tightly.
“Oh, sorry!” Misun released her hands. She blushed so hard.
Wonshik felt so amused. From now on, a blushing Lee Misun would his favourite sight.
“Get on.” Said Wonshik as he handed her the helmet.
“Is it safe though?” Misun asked.
“It is. Don’t Worry.” Wonshik chuckled.
Misun blushed again. Somehow feeling embarrassed.
“Oh! Wait.” Wonshik took off his jacket and gave it to Misun, “Wear this. It might get cold.”
“Uhm... But how about you?” She asked.
“Don’t worry about. I’m already used with the night air.”
Misun blushed. Again. How many times this guy made her blushed and shy tonight??
“Uhm... Th....Thanks.” Misun wore his jacket and….and it felt so….warm and…. Smells good too.
“Ready to go?” He asked.
“Uhm.. I’m wearing a skirt. So how..?”
“Sit sideway and hold on me.” He said, “Ah, wait. Seems it’s too high for you.” Wonshik pulled the stand and went off from his motorcycle. Then he grabbed Misun’s waist and lifted her to the back seat.
“Omo!” Misun squealed at his action.
Wonshik snickered then sat in front of her. “Hold on tight.”
Misun put her hand around his waist. But she wasn’t really holding on to him.
“Tsk! Like this, Misun ssi.” Said Wonshik as he pulled her hands and made her hug his waist.
“But, Wonshik ssi…” Misun whined.
“I’m afraid you’ll fall off. So hold on me like this. Arraseo?”
“O-okay..” Misun whispered.
The motorcycle sped off with a loud roar. Misun instantly gripped Wonshik’s waist even tighter. She never knew that riding motorcycle was this scary. But despite her fear of riding a motorcycle, there was something more that she felt deep down in her heart. Her heart tugged in a weird way. It was beating abnormally fast. All of her body felt so hot. And what was with this unpleasant feeling in her stomach? Could it be…?
~~~~~

“Ah, my head…” Misun groaned in her bed.

Her feelings were right. All of the weird things she felt  yesterday was the sign of her sickness this morning. She never went out that late night and the night air made it worse. This was how her body is used to adapt to those anomaly conditions. She has a bad flu and high fever.

She tried to get up from her bed and reach out to her phone. She must tell her Boss that she couldn’t go to work for several days. And even though her head was so dizzy, she managed to walk to her living room and grabbed her phone on the coffee table.

“Yoboseyo, Mrs. Kim.” She called her Boss. “This is Misun. I can’t go to work for a few days.”

“Oh, what happen, Misun ssi?” Asked Mrs. Kim.

“I have a really bad flu. I’m so sorry.” She said as she wiped her runny nose.

“It’s okay. Eunbi ssi can substitute for your class. Get well soon.”

“Thanks, Mrs. Kim.”

Misun hung up the phone. She walked slowly to her balcony to get some fresh air. Maybe it will lessen her dizziness. She stepped out on the balcony and found her neighbor also present out on his own balcony beside hers. He leaned on the railing with a cup of coffee in his hand.

“Good morning…” Misun greeted him with nasal voice.

Wonshik turned his head then he frowned, “Are you sick?”

“Just a little unwell.” Then she sneezed.

“Is it because last of night?”

“Maybe. As you said, I’m not used to night air.” She answered and wiped he nose. “Oh, by the way, your jacket is still here. I haven’t washed it. Sorry.”

“It’s okay. Just give it to me. You don’t have to wash it.” Said Wonshik. “Have you taken any medicine yet?”

Misun sneezed and shook her head.

“Why? Have you eaten breakfast?”

Misun coughed so hard then she shook her head again.

“Hey, you must eat and drink medicine.” Said Wonshik concernedly.

“I have no energy. Anyway, see you. I want to sleep again.”

“Okay. Just sleep then. Get well soon.”

~~~~~
Wonshik found himself inside a porridge store. He bought four portions of chicken porridge. After that he went to pharmacy to buy flu medicine, fever patch and vitamins. On the way home, he passed by minimarket and decided to stop there to buy fruits, milk and isotonic drink. When he reached Misun’s apartment door, he already have four plastic bags in his hands.
He knocked on her door, prayed that Misun was already awake to open the door for him. As he waited, he looked at his things that he bought. Never in his life he really care to someone until he did all of these things.
“Who is it?” He heard Misun from behind the door.
“It’s me. Wonshik.” He answered.
“Oh. Wait for a sec.”
Misun opened the door. Her face was really pale and her body drenched with sweat.
“Yes?” Misun asked Wonshik.
“I bought food and medicine for you.”
“Oh…” Misun was amazed. “Thanks.”
“Won’t you let me in?” Asked Wonshik.
“Oh, yes.” Misun stepped back and let Wonshik enter her apartment.
“How are you feeling?” Asked Wonshik.
“Terrible.” Misun answered honestly.
“I think you need a warm bath and change into fresh clothes.”
Misun nodded nervously.
“And if you don’t mind, I’ll put these on the kitchen and prepare your food.”
“Yes.. just put it on the kitchen. I-I’ll take a bath first.” Misun walked slowly to the bathroom. Even though she was really tense of Wonshik’s presence in her apartment, she could care less about it. Her dizzy head, weak body and queasy stomach called for her attention more.
“Need help?” Wonshik asked.
“I’m okay. Thanks.” Misun answered and disappeared behind the bathroom door.
~~~~~

Misun already took a bath and changed her clothes. At least she felt fresh despite her bad physical condition. When she stepped out on living room. Wonshik was there, sitting comfortably on her couch with two big bowl of porridge, two glass of water, medicine and a sliced apple was on the coffee table.

“Oh! You’re done?” Wonshik said.

“Uhm.. I must thank you for all of this.” Said Misun as she sat beside him.

“Here.” Wonshik took one bowl of porridge and gave it to Misun. “I bought two portions more for your lunch and dinner. I’ve already put it on the fridge.

“Thanks.” Misun accept it gratefully. To be honest, she felt hungry. So Misun took a spoon and ate it. “Ugh!” She groaned. It taste so bland.

“Waeyo?” Asked Wonshik. She saw that he ate the porridge too.

“It’s bland.” She said.

“Really? This is delicious. Maybe because you have a flu. But still, you have to eat.” Said Wonshik.

“Arraseoyo.” Misun obediently ate the porridge.

They ate in silence. Both of them didn’t know what to say. Until Misun started to ask questions.

“By the way, is it okay for you?” She asked.

“What?”

“Stay here. I’m afraid you have something to do.”

“I work at night, Misun ssi.”

“I know. But I’m afraid that…”

“It’s okay. You don’t have to be worry.” Wonshik patted her shoulder.

“Thank you very much. But why are you so kind to me?”

“Because you are my only neighbor.” Wonshik smiled. “Oh, you’re done eating? Now, drink the medicine.”

Wonshik took the empty bowl from Misun’s lap then he brought it to the sink. He washed all the dishes and walked back again to the couch. That was weird. Misun would have considered him a rude neighbor if she wasn’t sick like this. But instead, she was grateful that Wonshik here with his comfortable manner.

“Did you drink your medicine?” Asked Wonshik. Then suddenly he leaned on her and place his palm on her forehead. It made Misun blushed and skipped a beat. “Oh, you still have fever. Just rest, okay.”

Misun just nodded. “Well, I’ll sleep in my room.” Said Misun and she slowly got up from her seat. She wanted to ask him to go home if he wanted, but if she said that she looked like she was shooing him away. So she didn’t said anything.

To her surprise, Wonshik followed her to her room. He watched her from the door frame. When she already buried in blanket, he approached her. He took a fever patch and stuck it on her forehead.

“It might help to reduce your fever. Have a good rest.” He said.

“Thanks.” Misun whispered. Her eyes felt so heavy. The effect of medicine had already working. Until finally she fell in a deep sleep.

Wonshik looked at the sleeping Misun. He brushed her hair gently then closed the door. He decided to lie down on the couch for a while before he got back to his own apartment. But without him even realizing, he too fell asleep.

Wonshik woke up and he need a couple of time to recognize his surroundings. He looked around sleepily until he realized that he was in Misun’s apartment. He took a look at the clock. It said 2 pm. Then he opened Misun’s bedroom door to check on her. She still slept soundly. Wonshik came closer and checked on her temperature. It seemed that she was no longer had fever. He felt glad.

“Wonshik ssi?” Misun mumbled.

Wonshik turned to her. “Hey, wanna have lunch? I’ll heat the porridge for you.”

For the rest of the day, Wonsik took care of Misun. Even though they were together all day, they didn’t talk a lot since she always fell asleep as soon as she took the medicine. As she slept, Wonshik stayed in her apartment in case that she needed anything. He made sure that Misun ate dinner and drank her medicine before he went to work. After Misun wrapped under her blanket around herself, Wonshik patted her shoulder and excused himself.

“I’ll go to work now. I’ve already saved my phone number on your phone, so just call me if you need anything.” Said Wonshik.

“It’s okay. I think I’ll be sleeping until morning.” Misun smiled.

“Okay, then. Get well soon. I’m going.”

“Thank you for everything. Be careful on your way.

Wonshik just gave a simple nod then he left.

~~~~~
Misun woke up that morning and felt better than yesterday. But she was still weak, so she decided to take one more day off. She must thank Eunbi later for covering her class. Talking about thanking someone, she should thank Wonshik too. He was the one who took care of her. Her thought was cut with a knock on her door. She got up from her bed to check on her guest.
“Good morning.” Said her guest, which was her neighbor, Wonshik.
“Oh, hi.” Misun smiled.
“Better?”
“Yes. Thank you. But I’m still on my day off to recover myself fully.”
“That’s a good idea.” Wonshik nodded in agreement. “By the way, I bought this on the way home.” He held out a plastic bag.
“What’s that? Smells delicious.”
“Sandwich and French fries.” He grinned, “Let’s eat together.”
“Oh, yes. Come in.” Misun let Wonshik in. Since yesterday events, Joohyun felt more comfortable around Wonshik. She believed that Wonshik wasn’t a bad man.
Wonshik naturally came in and made himself comfortable on her couch. He pulled out two boxes from the plastic bag and put it on the table.
“Let’s eat!” Said Misun and she took out one of the boxes. She dug in instantly and hummed in delight. “This is delicious!”
“Seems you’ve got back your taste buds.” Wonshik commented.
Misun smiled while munching her sandwich. After she swallowed it she looked at Wonshik. “Wonshik ssi. What should I do?”
“What do you mean?” Asked Wonshik as she fed herself with French fries.
“You’ve already taken care of me since yesterday. You also bought me breakfast this morning. What should I do to pay for your kindness?”
Wonshik shrugged, “Nothing.”
“Eh?” Misun tilted her head.
“You don’t have to do anything.”
“But….”
“Don’t mind it, Misun ssi.”
Misun pouted at him and Wonshik couldn’t help but feel amused. Cute girl was rarely to be found in his work place.
“But still…”
“Hmm..” Wonshik thought about something and an idea popped in his head, “Drop the formality.”
“Huh?”
“Call me Wonshik-ah. That’s all I’m asking for and I’ll call you Misun-ah in exchange.”
“Are we of the same age?”
“I’m 25.”
“I’m 23. So you are older than me.”
“So call me Wonshik oppa then..”
“Wonshik… oppa…” Misun tried. She blushed hearing herself calling him oppa.
“That’s good, Misun-ah..” Wonshik patted her shoulder.
They chatted comfortably for the rest of their meal time. They learned each other’s occupation,  and where their hometown was. They shared their love about music, even though their genre was way different from each other.
“So that’s your piano?” Asked Wonshik who pointed at the corner of the room where the piano was located.
“Yes!” She beamed.
“Can you play something for me?”
“Sure!” Misun sat in front of her piano and started to playing a classical song that Wonshik couldn’t even recognize.
Wonshik leaned on the couch and closed his eyes. He listened to every note that Misun played. It was really relaxing compared to the hip hop songs that he usually raps and listen to.
“Oppa, how is it?” Misun turned her head and saw Wonshik’s reaction. But she only found Wonshik who was sleeping peacefully on the couch.
Misun sighed and shook her head. She knew that he must be sleepy. The nocturnal indeed sleeps during the day.
~~~~~

Misun clutched a little piece of paper in her hand. She stood in front of Wonshik’s apartment door. Usually at this time, Wonshik was ready to go to the club that he was working at. She took a deep breath then knocked on his door.

“Yes?” Wonshik called from inside.

“It’s me. Misun.” She answered.

“Oh. Wait.”

There’s a click sound from inside then the door opened to reveal Wonshik with only a towel tied on his waist, while using another towel to dry his wet hair. It seems he had just taken a bath. The sight made Misun stunned. Oh my God. Is this a dream? She allowed her eyes to catch a little glimpse of his toned body then looked away, but it seems Wonshik oblivious of the reaction of Misun.

“Just sit on the couch. I’ll be right back.” Then he dashed to his room.

Misun walked dreamily to the couch. She clutched her palm on her heart which was beating so fast! Gosh! That was her first time to see a , well half-, man with her own eyes. And she thought that Wonshik was really beautiful. Darnn!

“Sorry.” Wonshik came out fully clothed now, and ready to go. “What’s up?” He asked.

“Erm…” Misun was still blushing unable to form any word.

Wonshik smiled again at her. That blushing face of Misun was his favorite. But why was she blushing like that? Oh, crap! He remembered that he opened the door for her while he was not fully clothed.

“Oh, God. I’m sorry, Misun-ah.” He said after the realization.

“Aniyo...” Misun bit her lips and fanned her face.

“Hmm… want something drink?” Asked Wonshik trying to lessen the awkwardness.

“Yes, please.”

Wonshik grabbed a cold can of cola from her fridge and stuck it on her cheek.

“Omo!” Misun gasped.

“Cold enough?” He teased.

“Ah, Oppa!” She slapped his shoulder.

“Let me open it for you.” Wonshik grabbed the can and opened the lid.  He handed it to Misun again.

Misun gulped down the cold cola gratefully. At least it brought her senses back again.

“So what’s up?” Asked Wonshik.

“Ah!” Misun put the cola can on the table. “Here!” She handed the piece of paper that she brought.

“What’s this?” Wonshik received it and looked at it.

“It’s a Mini concert ticket. I’m one of the performers there.” She answered.

“Oh, cool!!” He said excitedly. “It’s on this Sunday?”

“Yes. Please come, Oppa!” She clasped her hands.

“I’ll surely come.” Wonshik beamed.

“Yes! Thanks, Oppa!”

“No problem.”

“By the way, you’re going to work right?”

“Oh, right! I have to go now.”

They walked outside of Wonshik’s apartment.

“I’m going now.” Said Wonshik.

“Be careful on your way, Oppa.” Misun waved at him.

Wonshik smiled and waved back at her. That was always the words that Misun will always say to him whenever he went to work. Sweet wasn’t it? And he was getting used to this.

~~~~~
Wonshik settled himself on his seat in the big auditorium. He wore the neatest clothes that he had since it was a classical music concert, not some underground hip hop clubs that he used to attend. So this was his clothes combination today, black shirt (he rolled the sleeves until his elbow), blue jeans and white snickers. He tried to comb his hair back so he didn’t look messy. He also brought a bouquet of sun flowers for her. Why sun flowers? Because he felt that roses were too mainstream.
He looked at the catalogue and found that Misun was the seventh performer. Oh wow, he hoped that he won’t fall asleep while waiting for Misun’s turn. He put his catalogue again and looked around. He really felt out of place. The atmosphere was so solemn. The people were so neat and proper. This was definitely awkward for him. But this was for Misun, she kindly invited him here.
The light slightly dimmed. Misun thought that the performance would start soon. It began with the violin performance, then flute, ensemble which include piano and violin, and so on and so forth. Wonshik thought that he would be sleepy but apparently he enjoyed the concert. This was a new thing for him. He never really listened to classical music before.
Misun’s turn finally came and Wonshik Gave his full attention on the stage. As Misun went on stage, Wonshik’s jaw dropped. Man! She was definitely gorgeous in that peach one shoulder long dress. She let her long hair fall on one side of her shoulder and she wore light make up on her face. Wonshik literally held his breath. She was the epitome of beauty. Damn she was gorgeous!
She looked even more when she started hit the notes gracefully. It was the song that she played for him before. Beethoven Sonata Pathetique – Adagio Cantabile, he made his research after the day he listened to her play it. Now he managed to listen to the full version. Each note that she delivered was so touching. It reached his heart. She was a good musician and that made Wonshik adore her even more. She was simply adorable without even trying, though.
Misun finished her performance and Wonshik gave her a standing ovation. “Bravo!! Bravo!!” he joined the chant heartily. It was amazing performance from the most amazing woman he ever met.
Wonshik waited for her outside her waiting room. And finally, Misun went out. Still her make-up on and her dress but she wore a simple coat over it. When she saw Wonshik, she beamed. Her neighbor was surely dashing with his outfit today. Misun silently admitted it to her heart that Wonshik was totally gorgeous.
“Oppa!” She chirped.
“Hey.” Misun walked to him, “Congratulations. That was an awesome performance.” He handed her the sun flower bouquet.
“Thank you, Oppa!” She hugged the bouquet. “It’s so beautiful.”
“Just like you.” Words easily escaped his mouth just like that.
Misun bit her lips and blushed. “Thank you.” She whispered.
Wonshik smiled at her. Without him even knowing, his fingers already touched her blushing chubby cheeks. As his fingers touched her skin, Misun felt some kind of electricity jolted throughout her body. She gasped and her heart beats so fast.
As for Wonshik, adrenaline rushed all over his system. Her skin was so smooth under his rough finger tips. Just like velvet. He really wanted to do this ever since he first saw her, explored her skin with his touch.
“O-oppa?” She stuttered.
Wonshik finally woke up from his dazed state after Misun called for him. He pulled his hands away almost immediately. “Sorry.” He coughed awkwardly.
“I-it’s okay.” Misun bent her head low to hide her even redder cheek. Actually, it was more than okay. Damn! She enjoyed his touch too.
“By the way, have you eaten lunch?” Wonshik asked trying to break the awkward atmosphere.
“Not yet.” Misun shyly answered.
“Shall we go?”
They had lunch on a nearby Italian restaurant. Wonshik ate his pasta on full speed. Misun just chuckled at him.
“Seems that you are really hungry.” Said Misun.
“You have no idea.” Wonshik slurped his pasta so fast until he coughed.
“Be careful, Oppa.” Misun offered him a glass of water which he accepted gratefully.
“Thanks.” WOnshik scooped his last spoon of pasta. He gulped another glass water and patted his tummy. “Man, that was delicious!”
“I’m not sure that this pasta is too delicious or it just you who is too hungry.” Misun chuckled.
“I think it’s both.” He smirked. “Oh!” Wonshik suddenly gasped.
“What?”
“I have an idea.”
“What is it?”
“I have watched your performance and I want you to watch mine. What do you think?”
“What? Watch your performance.. back in the club?” Misun asked hesitantly.
Wonshik nodded excitedly.
“But, Oppa. I don’t do night life and night club.” Misun frowned.
“I don’t do day life and solemn classical concert hall too. But I do it for you.” Wonshik tried to persuade her.
“Oppa but..”
“Please? Pretty please?” Wonshik clasped his hands and did aegyo to persuade her.
Misun sighed. “Arraseoyo.”
“Yay! Thank you.” Wonshik beamed, “And don’t worry. You’ll be safe. Do you remember when you got bothered by a group of men and I said that you are my girlfriend?”
How come she forgot that? When he surprisingly declared that she was his girlfriend and kissed her temple all of sudden. Even though he was just acting, she felt so nervous back then. Misun nodded at him, confirmed that she remember it.
“Well, it kind of got known in the club.” Wonshik scratched the back of his neck. “Everybody says that the girl named Misun is Kim Wonshik’s girlfriend.”
“Omo! Eottohkae?” Misun gasped.
“I’m so sorry.” Wonshik said sincerely.
“It’s okay, Oppa. You don’t have to be sorry.” Misun felt her face getting hot.
“But it will give you benefit. If all the people know you as my girlfriend, they won’t bother you.”
“It seems that you are famous there.” Misun chuckled.
“I work there. I’m a regular performer and DJ. Of course, I’m famous. Everybody knows me.” He boasted jokingly.
Misun just shook her head.
“So?” Wonshik asked for her confirmation.
“So what?” Misun raised her brow.
“You’ll come?”
“I’ve already said yes, Oppa.”
“Okay. Just making sure.” Wonshik grinned so wide. You didn’t know how happy he was.
~~~~~

“Oppa.. really.. I’m scared.” Misun snuggled on his arm and clung to him.

“Relax, Misun.” Said Wonshik.

“Where are we going?” Wonshik asked.

“We’ll go to the bar. You’ll sit there while I’m performing.”

“You’ll leave me there alone?” She gasped in horror.

After they went home first and changed clothes they went there straightaway. Loud music. Dimmed lights. Careless men and women swayed their body on the dance floor. Alcohols in each hand. Smoke puffed all around the room. This was definitely not her element.

“Oh, wow! What do we have here?” The tall man with dark brown short hair shouted from the bar.

“What?” Wonshik shouted back at him.

“So this is the famous Misun?” He asked again.

Misun only looked at him. He knew her?

“Shut up, Sanghyuk ah!” Said Wonshik. “Come Misun. Don’t be afraid. He is a close dongsaeng of mine.” Wonshik whispered to Misun.

“Ew! PDA!” The other guy with a cute dimple commented.

“Hongbin-ah!” Wonshik warned.

The one with fair complexion and cat like eyes just shook his head while sipping his alcohol.

“Well, let me introduce her to you, gents. This is Lee Misun.” Said Wonshik.

Misun smiled nervously and bowed.

“This is Taekwoon-hyung, Hongbin, and Sanghyukkie. They are close friends of mine.” Said Wonshik.

“I am Lee Misun. Nice to meet you.” Misun bowed, but her hands still clung onto Wonshik.

“Aww.. You guys look so sweet together.” Sanghyuk groaned. “Just date for real already!”

Misun blushed and looked at Wonshik.

“Uhm... They know the real story.” Wonshik explained.

“Okay then. Shall we go?” Said Taekwoon.

Misun looked around and became frantic. “Where are you going?”

“We’ll be performing a special stage tonight, Misun-ah.” Wonshik answered.

“But you can’t leave me, Oppa. I’m scared.” Misun pulled Wonshik’s hand.

“Relax.” Wonshik guided her to sit on one of the chairs in front of the bar. Then he called someone, “Joon hyung!”

The handsome bartender looked at him, “What’s up, Shik-ah?”

“Please take care of my girlfriend well, okay? Don’t let any man bother her. Just say that she is mine.”

Joon laughed hard, “Arraseo! I’ll protect her for you, Rascal!”

“Misun, this is Lee Joon. Don’t worry. He is my friend too.” Said Wonshik.

Misun bowed nervously at the bar tender.

“Okay. Now sit here and watch us, okay?” Said Wonshik, “And order any drink you want. It’s my treat.”

“But I don’t drink alcohol.” Said Misun.

“Joon hyung can manage that.”

“What?” Asked Joon.

“She doesn’t drink alcohol.” Said Wonshik to Joon.

“Oh. I have delicious fruit punch for you, Misun ssi.” Said Joon.

“Thank you.”

“I’m going, okay?”

Misun just smiled and nodded. She watched his back as he walked to the stage. Then he looked around anxiously. She really felt out of place. She shouldn’t be here. She wouldn’t be here if Wonshik didn’t insist. Oh, well. He said everything would be okay. She had his number. She could call him if something happened.

“Here you go, Miss.” Joon handed her the fruit punch.

“Thanks.” Said Misun. She took a sip at her drink and yes, the fruit punch was really delicious.

“Good evening, everyone!” Wonshik’s voice was heard all over the club. “We will be performing a special stage for everyone. Are you guys ready to have some fun?”

Pop music started to reverberate throughout the whole bar. It was a very popular song that Misun only forgot the title to. The cat like man, Taekwoon, has a soft melodic voice that could melt anyone’s heart. Sanghyuk and Hongbin’s vocals were also a good blend to the song that they were singing. They were also dancing. And to Misun’s surprise Wonshik was actually the best dancer out of the four of them.

Wonshik was really attractive on stage. When his part came, his deep vocals matched his rap pretty well. He was very charismatic compare to the Wonshik that he knows. Needless to say, all four of them knows how to get the crowd going, because all of the people on the dancefloor started jumping around to the music.

Their performance came to an end. Everyone clapped and shouted at their great performance. All of them waved then went off the stage. Wonshik walked ahead from the three to approach Misun.

“Hey, how is it?” Wonshik asked, still panting from all the dancing that he did.

“It’s great, Oppa! Jjang!” Misun raised two thumbs up.

Wonshik grinned so wide that his cheek bones almost started to burst. Joon chuckled at Wonshik’s reaction.

“It’s almost midnight. Do you want to go home?” Asked Wonshik.

“Yes please, Oppa.” Said Misun gratefully.

“Okay, let’s just take a taxi. I’m afraid you will catch a cold again.” Said Wonshik         .

“But how ‘bout your motorbike?” Asked Misun.

“I’ll just leave it here.” Wonshik answered, “Hongbin-ah!” He called.

“What?” Hongbin answered.

“Please replace me for DJ tonight.” Wonshik grinned at him.

Hongbin scoffed.

“Pretty please, Hongbinnie?” Wonshik pleaded and hook his arm around his shoulder. “I’ll treat you delicious food. Huh?”

“Arraseo!” Finally Hongbin agreed.

“Komawo Hongbin-ah. I love you.” Said Wonshik as he hit Hongbin’s back.

“Tsk!” Hongbin just rolled his eyes. “Are you sure you are not dating her?”

Wonshik shrugged, “What are you talking about?”

Hongbin stuck his tongue at him then went to the DJ table right on the stage.

He turned to Misun, “Ready to go?”

“Yes.” Misun answered.

“Ah, wait.” Wonshik took off his jacket and put it on Misun’s shoulder. “It must be cold outside.”

“Oh my God? What did I just saw??” Sanghyuk choked on his beer.

“Are you two really not dating?” Taekwoon who was usually quiet started to wonder as well.

Wonshik just raised his brows. Misun as usual, blushed hard.

“So see you, Guys!” Said Wonshik. “Joon hyung, thanks!”

“Thank you again.” Misun said softly then bowed at them.

They walked away from the bar with Sanghyuk still teasing them teasing them.

“Don’t listen to them. They are just being playful as they are.” Wonshik said.

“It’s okay. It’s kind of funny.” Misun chuckled. “Oh look! There’s still food vendor at this hour?”

“Yes, there is.” Wonshik shrugged.

“Wah, it’s interesting.”

Wonshik laughed, “It just ordinary for me. Want to take a look and buy something? The ddukbokki is really delicious here.”

“Sure.” Misun nodded          .

They went to one of the ddukbokki seller and bought one big portion. They ate and chatted happily.

“This is my first time.” Said Misun.

“You never eat ddukbokki in the middle of the night?” Wonshik asked playfully.

“Aniyo.” Misun shook her head then ate a spoonful of ddukbokki. “It’s just really weird. I usually am sleep at a time like this.”

“The night is still young, Misun-ah..”

“For someone nocturnal like you!”

Wonshik only laughed at that.

After they finished their meal, they decided to go home. Misun said that she was already sleepy. Actually Wonshik wanted to take Misun for a walk, but he saw her sleepy eyes, and  he had no heart to continue their night out.

They ride the taxi to their apartment. Both of them were just silent and didn’t say anything. Misun was too sleepy to make any conversation. Wonshik too, just looked out the window. Suddenly, Wonshik felt a weight on his shoulder. When he looked on his right, he saw Misun sleeping on his shoulder. Wonshik smiled and brushed her hair.

“Sleep tight, Misun-ah.” He whispered.

Misun felt a light tap on her shoulder. She groaned. She still sleepy but who the heck tried bothering her?

“Misun-ah. We’ve arrived.” Wonshik whispered.

“Huh?” Misun slowly gained her consciousness.

“We’ve arrived. Just wake up for a bit.”

Misun rubbed her eyes. Now, she fully awake.

“Sorry.” Said Wonshik apologetically.

“It’s okay. Thanks.” Misun covered her yawn with her palm.

They got off from the taxi and went up stairs to their apartment. They were already in front of their own apartment doors. Wonshik only waited for Misun to enter her own unit before going inside his.

“Get in first.” Said Misun.

Misun smiled, “Thank you for today, Oppa.”

“It’s no problem. Thank you too.” Wonshik shoved his hands to his pocket. “I really had fun.”

“Yes.” Misun blushed.

They just stood on their spot. Unwilling to enter their own units.

“Misun-ah.”

“Wonshik Oppa.”

They called each other’s name at the same time. They chuckled nervously.

“Uhm... You first.” Said Wonshik.

“Ehm..” Misun tucked her hair behind her ear shyly. “Just want to say good night.”

“Ah, right.” Wonshik bit his lips. Somehow he felt nervous. “Misun-ah..”

“Yes..” Misun looked at Wonshik.

Wonshik walked closer to Misun. He raised his hand and touched her chin gently. Slowly.. and slowly… Wonshik leaned on her and gave a soft kiss on her blushing cheek. He drew himself from her and smiled so wide.

“Good night.” He whispered.

Misun was stunned. Her heart started to do crazy jumps. Her body became hot in instance. “Good night.” Misun bit her lips and waved a little to Wonshik before he shut the door behind her.

“Oh my God!!!!!!” She squealed. Touched her cheek where Wonshik kissed her and giggled crazily.

On the other hand, Wonshik grinned so wide and jumped excitedly before keyed in his apartment passscode.

~~~~~
The morning seemed so much brighter in Lee Misun’s  point of view. Even though her sleep hour decrease compared with she used to, she felt so energized. She hummed happily while she prepared herself going to work. She dabbed compact powder on her cheek, then again.. she remember Wonshik’s kiss.
“Kyaaaa!!!!” She squealed again like a love sick teenager.
After several minutes of day dreaming, she got her senses back then grabbed her bag. She was wearing her shoes when a knock heard on the door.
“Coming..” She answered.
Misun opened the door to reveal Wonshik who is standing in front of her door. He looked so fresh and handsome.
“Oh, Good morning, Oppa.” She blushed.
“Good morning.” He smiled. “Ready to go?”
“Ah.. yes.” Misun stepped out from her apartment and locked the door. “What’s up, Oppa?”
“I’ll take you to your work place.” Wonshik said.
“Ne?” Misun stunned.
“You heard me.” Wonshik smiled. Then he took out his hand waiting for her to reach for it.
Misun took his hand shyly then Wonshik intertwined their hands. Walking hand in hand in a matching pace.
From now on… everything wouldn’t be the same.
I knocked on your door.. finally I reached your heart.
