Her Coffee Prince (Ravi)

VIXX Tales (One Shot Collections)

Lee Misun sat in a cozy café near her university. With no one to accompany her, she sat alon with her book on her left hand, and her iPod on the other. Truthfully, she didn't want anyone to accompany her. Her friends kept on insisting to accompany her, but she would always deny them. She preffered to be alone.

She found it a little bit strange actually. She was never even a fan of coffee to begin with, yet, here she was, sitting comfortably with an untouched cup of caramel macchiato. She just loved the smell of coffee, or it was probably just her excuse to be there.

Her usual seat was at the corner of the café; with the dim light, she was sure that no one would interupt her reading. She was really doing it - reading her book that is - until that particular man came, she decided to be a regular cutomer.

For some reason, her routine changed. At first she would just sit there, read her book and listen to good music; always lost in her own little world. But now, she would sit, take out her book and her iPod out, turn her favorite music on. It would, of course, last for only about 10 to 15 minutes before her eyes would secretly wander around the café, trying to search a certain person.

He was the new barista. She was certain of that because she never saw him before. She has been observing him, secretly of course. He would always smile at the customers whenever they would look his way. Which happens alot, especially with female customers. He kind of reminded her of a certain animated larva that her nephews always loved to watch. As much as she wanted to deny it, she always thought that he was cute. He also had a deep husky voice, and a charming laugh whenever he chats with his co-workers- one with a really tan skin who can't seem to take his hands off to his other co-worker who had a cat-like and stoic face.

She chose caramel macchiato instead of green tea accidentally. She practically just blurted it out since she was spacing out; lost in his eyes as he asked her what drink would she like to order. She just heard the customer over the next counter, and simply copied her. She even muttered a small thank you to the lady - without her noticing - after the barista walked away to make her order. The coffee was never drank or touched.

Today was no different. She came again with her book and iPod, ready to order. When she looked up the counter, she was disappointed as she was gretted by a different barista on the other side of the counter. Did his shift change? Did he quit his job? Nevertheless, she could not just leave ampty handed because that would be too obvious. She had another plan in mind. She would wait for him for 30 minutes, but if he didn't show up then She would just head home and maybe come back tomorrow afternoon.

"Thank you." She said to the tan barista.

She sighed audibly. Her book was remained untouched. She pouted as she leaned her head on one hand, thinking what exactly was she doing right now. She didn't tell anyone, not even her older brother Lee Jaehwan; who they both vowed to each other that if they like someone, they would tell each other.

She took a peek at her watch. She noticed that only two minutes has passed, but it felt like two hours already, waiting for him. She wasn't exactly sure what to feel right now. Was it love like her oppa always told her? When your heart would flutter and beat 3 times faster than normal?

But her heart was thumping so hard like there was a stampede in there. She felt many butterflies in her stomach and her day just seemed undeniably brighter upon seeing his face, her coffee prince.

She was lost in her own thought when she heard a familiar voice from someone who made her heart jump out of her chest.

"Here's your order miss." He said placing a cup of green tea on the table, which she didn't notice.

She looked up and was surprised to find her coffee prince looking down at her, smiling. She could practically feel her face getting red as a tomato. She looked down out of embarassment, unable to meet his eyes.

"U...uhm.... Th-Thank you." She said as she cursed her self for stuttering.

She expected him to leave, not that she wanted him to, but she still felt his presence. She was sure that he was still there, standing and looking at her.

"I think it would be better for you to drink green tea." He said while smiling softly down at her.

"Ne?" She asked confusely. Nervously, she looked up to show that she was curious as to what he was talking about.

"Here. A green tea for you." He said as he pointed at the cup that was placed on her table.

"E-Eh?" She looked down to where he was pointing and finally realized that it was not her usual caramel macchiato that she usually orders. "But I-"

"I think..... I think coffee suit you."

"N-Ne?" She was still confused.

"Uhm... May I sit here?" He politely asked.

"Uh... Uhm.... Y-yes, sure."

She was fidgeting and playing with her hands, a habit that she does when she was very nervous.

"Am I making you uncomfortable?" He asked as she fidgeted on her seat.

"A-Aniyo." She answered immediately.

Realizing her sudden outburst at him, she closed her eyes tightly for a few seconds.

"Uhm... M-Mianeyo. I mean... Aniyo... You don't make me uncomfortable." She said still stuttering.

He chuckled with his deep voice that she always found charming.

She cursed herself for being clumsy and stuttering in front of him.

"You don't like coffee, don't you?"

"N-Ne?"

"Why do you always answer my questions with 'Ne?'" He asked as he failed to mimick her tone due to his deep voice.

"Ne?"

"See? I told you." He chuckled again.

"Uhm... Mianeyo."

"It's okay. I'm just not sure what to say if you keep answering me with 'Ne'."

"Ahhh~ Ne... Uhh... I mean arasseoyo."

He nodded.

"So..... Am I right?"

"Ne?" She shook her head immediately. "Uhm... W-What do you mean?"

"You don't like coffee?"

"Uhm.... About that.. It's a yes and a no."

He tilted his head. This time, he was the one confused.

"It's a yes that I don't like drinking coffee, but I like the aroma of it." She paused, as she looked up to meet his face.

"Am I saying something weird?" She asked cautiously.

He shook his head immediately and smiled softly at her.

"Aniyo... You're just... One of a kind.... Unique."

"It's okay if you think otherwise." She said as she looked back down to her hands.

"Aniyo.... Really. I'm being honest." He denied.

She wasn't convinced though. She was disappointed at herself for her outburst and for being very nervous around him.

"I don't really like drinking coffee as well, but I work in a coffee shop. It's okay if you call me weird." He said to make her believe his words.

Misun chuckled softly, finally lifting her head up to meet his eyes.

"Aniyo. I think it's unique." She chuckled again.

"Aigoo~ you're cute" he said as he chuckled.

"N-Ne?"

"Shik-ah!" Someone called him over the counter. He noticed that the tan man was busy taking orders while the quiet man was also busy making the drinks. Although he wanted to talk to her more, like he has been wanting to talk to her ever since he started working; he must go back to work. He turned back to face her with an apologetic face.

"I got to get back to work."

She nodded.

"You'll be back tomorrow, right?"

She nodded again.

"Perfect." He paused as he stood up hesitantly.

"So.... I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked

"Ne. See you tomorrow."

Just as he was about to walk away, he remembered something. He gurned her body again and offered his hand.

"Kim Wonshik, by the way."

She blinked her eyes repeatedly, looking at his hand. She couldn't believe her ears.

"Uhm.... Lee Misun." She smiled slightly as she shook his hand.

He grinned at her.

"Enjoy you green tea Misun-ssi." He said as he finally walked away tomreturn back to work.

She wanted to jump and scream her heart out. She was so happy. She felt so lucky. She still couldn't believe it. Her heart won't stop beating really fast. She was finally able to talk to him. Well, technically he talked to her first.

Tomorrow they would meet again. Tomorrow she would vow to initiate conversations first. Tomorrow she would be open to something new. Love.

Although she was not sure yet, at least her feelings wasn't one-sided. Although it may start as friendship at first, but she was willing to walk the path patiently. Since it was him, her coffee prince.
