The Boy and the Girl Who Can’t Be a Couple – Part 1: The Girl
A Girl like the Roses of BengalAuthor’s note: I started writing this fanfic a while ago, even before my first one-shot, Her Fingertips Brushing against His Back. Now, I have five chapters ready but I was afraid to post them because it seemed like the changes I wanted for the story were going to complicate everything. Recently, I planned it all. I made an outline for this fanfic so that I can write confidently. Without further ado, I proudly present the first chapter. Enjoy!
Song: 2AM Changmin & Jinwoon - Can't I Love You

The Boy and the Girl Who Can’t Be a Couple – Part 1: The Girl
Whenever I see you
Whenever you smile for me
Little by little
My feelings for you grew
When I think of you now
When I picture you
My beating heart doesn’t know how to stop
I can’t hide my feelings anymore
I want to give it all to you
I’m always close to you (next to you)
Can’t I love you?
Seungyeon was lost in her thought. She wasn’t even listening to the song’s lyrics, asking herself the same questions. Why did she agree? Should she sacrifice her happiness to make him happy? She ended up being a prisoner in her mind as these questions kept coming back.
She was waiting, sitting on a balustrade outside the entrance of Seoul Girls' High School in Mapo district. The hubbub of students’ voices, meeting their peers before entering the school, didn’t even affect her. Nobody paid attention to her because she seemed to be of the same age as the others. But she had nothing in common with them. She wasn’t waiting for class to begin.
Suddenly, a black car stopped in front of the school. Seungyeon regained her senses and stretched her neck to see who would get out of the car. A teenager; she was beautiful and had long brown hair shinning in the sunlight. She was wearing the same uniform as her classmates, but her slender figure made her stand out from the others.
Seungyeon jumped up and took her headphones off her ears as she moved toward the girl without hesitation.
‘‘Are you Goo Hara-sshi? Can we talk?’’
‘‘Err… Yes,’’ she replied, surprised by the fact that Seungyeon wasn’t wearing a uniform.
Seungyeon grabbed Hara’s sleeve and took her aside. They walked a few metres on the freshly cut grass.
‘‘My friend sent me to tell you that he’s in love with you. Since he saw you last month at the church, he seeks an opportunity to talk to you. His name is Jinki, but everyone calls him Onew. He’s not much older than you. He is very nice and not ugly at all,’’ she said quickly.
‘‘What? I don’t know him! Anyway, I’m not allowed to go out with boys. Tell him he’s wasting his time. If I see him stalking me, I’ll tell my father.’’
Hara turned and rushed to the school’s front doors. The bell rang and the last students went inside. Few moments later, only the birds and the cars could be heard. However, the bell was still ringing in Seungyeon’s head. She didn’t move, not knowing if she should be happy over Hara’s reply or not. She had simply done what Onew had asked her to do… because she loved him.
In her Ipod, the song came to an end.
To be the one that’s in your heart (in your heart)
Can’t I be that?
To be the most important person in your life
Is what I want to be
So quickly take my heart.
Please accept my heart...
A/N: I know it’s a very short chapter, but the second part is coming tomorrow. ^^
