chapter 17
A Brother's LoveHana’s POV
Very dry mouth, pounding head, queasy, tired, sometimes weak knees, and I hate bright lights/loud noises. I rested my head on the table.
“Hangover?”
I lifted my head to look at the person. “What?”
My eyes bulged in realization when I noticed who I was talking to. Her hair was a rich shade of mahogany. It flowed in waves to adorn her glowing, porcelain-like skin. Her eyes, framed by long lashes, were a bright, emerald-green and seemed to brighten the world. A straight nose, full lips - she seemed the picture of perfection. Had she smiled, the world would sigh with contentment. Had she laughed, the world would laugh with her. And had she wept, the whole world would want to comfort her. What was Fann doing here?
Hate and enmity welled up in my heart, fury itself burning me up. I clenched my fist in a bid to control my anger and to prevent myself from lashing out at her. Oh, how could I have forgotten? Fann and I go to the same school.
Fann shrugged her shoulders and pulled a chair to sit directly in front of me.
“I don’t have the mood to talk to anyone. Please go away,” From the pounding head, vomit taste in my mouth and dehydrated feeling I figured I must have been drinking heavily last night. My throat felt like sandpaper. It hurt to move.
A smirk tugged at Fann’s lips. It showed only slightly as she regained her composure. “You’re having a hangover.”
“How did you know?” My eyes widened at her statement. I was certain that my hangover signs weren’t that bad as compared to how I was in the car ride to school. I thought nobody else would notice me since I was the ice princess of the school. I hardly talked to anyone. Everyone in the school treated me like I was invisible. It was quite shocking for me when Fann pointed out that I had a hangover. She must have been observing me for quite some time. I wonder what she wants from me…
“Anybody who is not stupid can see that you’re having a hangover,” Fann sneered.
“But I’m not stupid. I’m quite smart…” I tried to defend myself, my eyes staring daggers into her soul.
“I didn’t say you’re stupid … idiot,” she muttered under her breath. Unfortunately for her, I heard every single word she said.
“Here.”
I jumped slightly when a steaming tumbler of what appeared to be coffee and a mixture of something else was shoved in front of my face suddenly. Fann’s face blushed a deep scarlet. Her eyes didn’t dare to meet mine.
“What is it now?” I questioned, taking the tumbler from Fann. I wrinkled my nose when an unpleasant aroma reached my nostrils. It definitely wasn’t coffee.
“Just drink it. It’s my special mix for hangovers. I drank it before. Lots of times. Trust me. It works. Look at me, I’m fine now,” Fann urged me to drink the weird looking mixture.
I brought the rim of the tumbler to my lips, pausing when the hot liquid touched my lips. I pulled away for a moment. I did not want Fann to see me as a klutzy girl who was not fit to be Sehun’s girlfriend. What if she put poison in the mixture? Am I going to die? But Fann was alright after she drank it? I mean look at her. She’s walking as though she hadn’t drunk a barrel of alcohol last night.
“What are you waiting for? Go on. Drink it,” I blew quickly on the steaming tumbler before taking a quick sip.
I knew right from the start that it was a bad idea.
