Day 2 - Secret Santa
Meet Me Under The Mistletoe - 10 Drabbles
Hoya knew doing Secret Santa is not a good idea, Sunggyu and his ideas of bringing the group closer.
“Hoya hyung, can you help me a little?” Sungjong looked at him, eyes widened in hopes of being able to convince Hoya better, like the thing he wanted to ask was something risky. (It’s not like Hoya was ever able to say no to anything Sungjong said, but that’s another thing.)
“Of course, Sungjong-ah, what do you need?” He smiled at the younger boy, petting the top of his head affectionately.
“You know we are doing this Secret Santa thing and I’m not supposed to tell you whom did I got, but I got Myungsoo, and I’m not sure about what should I get him...” Sungjong pouted. “And I hoped you could help me or something like that...”
He promised to help, of course he did.
He wasn’t really prepared for how Sungjong started behaving after that, talking about Myungsoo all the time, and it’s not like he hated Myungsoo or something, Hoya actually did like the kid. Just with the obvious crush he had on Sungjong for a while, he was near to get driven crazy by the amount of attention he gave Myungsoo and not him. But he was enduring it, while constantly reminding himself he is doing it to Sungjong and more importantly, for Sungjong.
“Do you think Myungsoo would like this?” Sungjong asked excitedly during one of their shopping outings in Myeong-dong, and Hoya really felt like smashing his own head into a wall or something equally hard. He looked at Sungjong who was eyeing a silver necklace with a tiny camera as a pendant in a shopwindow. It was probably the most cliched present anyone could give Myungsoo, and probably this is why he would actually like it.
“I bet he would love it.” He smiled at the younger boy, and the wide grin that spread on Sungjong’s lips made him melt a little. Sungjong quickly went into the shop to buy the jewellry for his bandmate, and Hoya was glad to be left alone for a little so he could collect himself at least a little bit. It was so unfair from the younger to smile at him like this damn it. It doesn’t take long for Sungjong to come back with a little plastic bag hanging from his wrist.
“Where do you want to go now, hyung? It’s time for you to get a present for the person you’re the Secret Santa of~” Sungjong grabbed his arm and started pulling him with himself.
“Why don’t we go and eat something? Even shopping requires lunch breaks, kiddo.” Hoya chuckled.
They chose a tiny restaurant, and while they were waiting for their lunch, Sungjong looked around.
“This place looks so nice, I think next time I’ll bring Myungsoo here... ” He hummed, and Hoya contemplated committing suicide with the salt cellar on the table.
“Can’t you stop talking about Myungsoo just while we are here?” Hoya snapped, and Sungjong looked at him surprisedly, until a very amused smile creeped on his lips.
“Chill hyung, it’s just I owe Myungsoo a lunch because last time we went out with Infinite F, I forgot my wallet at home and he had to pay.” He chuckled.
“Oh.” Hoya murmured, quite embarrassed.
“Don’t worry, you are still my favorite hyung.”
