"Well.." He started and I waited patiently for him to continue. I lightly tap my feet on the ground and felt like screaming

Why isn't he answering?

I took a deep breath and played with the hem of his jacket that he gave me. I opened my mouth to say something but then closed it back when he finally answered

"Once or twice." He said and I bit my lips.

This is it. There's no turning back. 

"Thank you for the jacket.. and for being honest" I said after I turned around to face him. I look at him straightly in the eyes and he froze.

He stared back at me intensely and it made me scared. I took a step backward but kept my gaze on him

'The moment of truth' I could hear Luhan said from a far and I let out a shaky breath.

This is it. The moment where we'll find out whether he's the one or not.

I stared at him steadily as I counted mentally in my mind

"1... 2... 3..." I started and kept on walking backwards with baby steps.

'Why is he not saying anything?' Kyungsoo said worriedly and felt anxious.

"Sehun? Are you okay?" I asked him and he snapped out of our staring game. He looked down and looked at something behind me

Sehun suddenly looked alarmed and exclaimed, "Seulbi stop walking!''

I stopped walking and felt something at the back of my leg. "Oh?" I said as I looked down

It was a dead tree trunk.

"You could've fell and injure yourself if I didn't warn you.." He said.

I kept quiet and stared at him with a smile. He stared at me back and bit his lips to prevent himself from smiling

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked me and I ran to him happily

I hugged him tightly by the waist and he was shocked by my action

"Thank you Sehun. Thank you" I said and he awkwardly circle his hands around me

"You're welcome? It's not a big deal actually.. I just warned you" He said and chuckled

I smiled and sighed happily

Thank you for giving me hope.

"Tha-" I was about to thank him again but immediately stopped when I heard noises from a far. The place suddenly became dead silent and I furrowed my eyebrows.

I pulled away from Sehun and saw that he was staring at the direction where the noises came from.

I looked at the direction and saw two shadows from a far

Suddenly an arrow shot through the sky. I gasped and looked at where the arrow landed.

It landed just beside Kyungsoo, just missing him by an inch. My eyes widened.

I looked back at the shadow and saw that a person was about to shoot his next arrow

"Kyungsoo! Watch out!" I warned him loudly

Another arrow was shot and he barely dodged it. 

"Catch it!" I heard a man called a few metres from me. They didn't see the rest of us since the forest is covered with bushes and trees but they can see Kyungsoo clearly since he is sitting on top of the tree branch

Exouls began to run before they got caught and I panicked when Kyungsoo didn't even dare to move an inch.

"Kyungsoo get down here!" I exclaimed and opened my arms widely. Kyungsoo shake his head and began to hide his tiny body, leaning on the tree

'I'm scared Seulbi! What if it hit me?!' He exclaimed back and I felt frustrated. 

Footsteps began to come nearer but I refuse to leave my spot. I continued to persuade Kyungsoo to come down but then Sehun pulled my arms and drag me with him

"We have to go!" He said as he pulled me.

"No! I won't leave him there!" I said as I pushed him away and came back to the same spot

"Kyungsoo-" I wanted to call out again but a hand cupped my mouth and pulled me behind a big bush. I trashed around, thinking that I got caught but when I realised that it was just Sehun, I calmed down

I stared at him as he kept my mouth shut with his hands. 

"Where did it go?" A voice asked and I immediately looked through the bush. I saw two men circling the tree that Kyungsoo is hiding as they continued to searched for him

I followed their action and searched for kyungsoo. 

He's not there? Did an arrow shot him?

I panicked and looked at the ground for any signs of him. I sighed in relief when there's none.

"I think it went that way! Let's go, it's rare to find an owl you know? We can't lose it!" The other man said and together, they left the place.

As soon as they left, I pushed Sehun's hand from my mouth and scrambled towards the tree

"Soo? Kyungsoo?" I whispered loudly and began to worry.

Suddenly, some leaves began to move and I sighed in relief when I saw him. 

'I'm alright!' He shouted as he was the big leaves he used as a camouflage. I glared at him with teary eyes as I opened my arms widely.

"You better come here you idiot!"

He gladly flew into my arms and I catched him. I hugged him tightly and sighed in relief

"Stupid! I thought I lost you!" I said as I hit his head lightly. Sehun came from behind me and patted Kyungsoo's head

"He's safe now. Let's get out of here"
