My Patch of the Sky

The bell rang, signaling that it’s break-time. “Alright class, we’ll continue this lesson tomorrow. Remember to do your homework.” Mr. Ahn, our science teacher said, exiting the classroom. When he was gone, everyone broke into conversation. Some left the room to find their friends. Sadly, no one approached me, so I just sat there, reviewing over my notes.
I sighed, agitated. I’ve read over these notes so many times that I could recite it backwards. I got out of my seat, walking out of the room, just looking around the building. All I found out was that Building A had a nice restroom.
Before I could go explore Building B, the bell rang, to which I ran to my next class.

Right now, I’m in fourth period, still friendless and lonely. What a bad day. It’s not any different from school back at the village. I sighed again, for what seems like, what? The 62nd time during the day? Not like anyone’s counting. My hands were starting to get tired from writing all those notes. I don’t get why I bother writing them in the first place. I’m a fast learner with a great memory (only when it comes to academics, though, I fail at everything else)... not to brag or anything! I turned my head to the side, trying to see out the window. It was no use, everyone’s faces were in the way. Plus, we were on the 2nd floor. I sighed again. The bell rang, interrupting Kim sungsaenim’s lesson. “There’s going to be a test on this next week, so you better all study hard!” he grunted, leaving the room.
I stretched my arms, letting out a quiet yawn. I then walked out, lunch box in hand. Suddenly a swarm of girls started squealing. I looked around in curiosity. It was him. The cute librarian. Wait, what? The cute librarian? With a lunch box?
“Minji, you forgot your lunch again,” he sighed. A (very pretty) girl walked up to him, taking it from his hands. “Thanks Minho oppa, you’re a life saver!” she thanked. So his name is Minho? Wait! That’s not important! I’ve to escape, I’d sooo die from embarrassment if he– “Oh, hey. It’s the moose girl!” he called out. “Uh... hi?” I replied meekly. He walked towards me. “I didn’t think I’d ever see you again. You know, you were in such a hurry to leave that I’ll bet that you didn’t even notice that you dropped your scarf.” I turned red. Why is it that I’m always humiliating myself in front of him? I just looked down. He laughed, “It’s alright. I still have it. I’ll bring it to you tomorrow. What class are you in?” “2A.” I said. “Ah! You’re in the same class as my Minji?” My heart sunk at his words. His Minji? So he has a girlfriend? Well it’s not that I care. “I guess so...” I mumbled. “I’m sure you’ve seen her. Minji is the one with the huge eyes like me. Hahaha, I guess it runs in the family.” he chuckled. I perked up at that comment. In the family. So they’re related. “Hey, well I’ve got to go. I guess I’ll see you around?” he smiled. “Yeah. See you around,” I smiled back. He stared at me for a second then turned and walked away. Weird... Hope I didn’t have something on my face.
