'Never judge a book by its cover' is what Yue's mother usually say to her since Yue had the tendency to jump to conclusions sometimes when she is struck with emotions. As she grew older, she learned that her mother had been giving her a valuable life lesson all these time. 

That was why she felt she was wrong about Irene Zhang, Yifan's new PA, who substituted her position. 

Despite her cold stern look, Irene turned out to be like Yifan, who is a complete opposite of how Yifan appears to be - cold and determined-looking but, soft and warm once you had broken past the harsh exterior. She came to learn about Irene more at the company's annual dinner, where Yue officially attended an official event of the company as Yifan's spouse. 

The fact that Yue became Yifan's spouse completely blew a lot of people's mind, which also include a lot of whispering behind her back but she didn't care. She had already chosen to walk down this path and as long as nobody gets hurt, she was fine with it. That party was also where Yue learned more about Irene since the girl lingered around her most of the time during the party. Even though Yue had told the girl to go and accompany Yifan, she said that her boss could take care of himself sometimes since she takes care his schedule most of the time to a point that she felt like she was baby-sitting a full grown child's school schedule. Yue laughed violently at the girl's way she compared Yifan to a full grown child, then she told Irene that Yifan was pretty much like a child at home. 

That was how their friendship blossomed. 

During the period of the party, Yue had came to learn that Irene studied abroad but came back to China upon her parents' request since they wanted her to be in the same city as them and not be ocean apart from her. She also said she had abandoned a lot behind her abroad - including her unrestricting lifestyle. Irene said she hated how she felt like she was being watched since her parents were one of the major shareholders in the company that Yifan is in. Yue chuckled at how the assigning of PA was rigged to employ the people they only know and not the people from outside. At the same time, she felt thankful that she got the job since it let her meet with the other half. 

"Don't worry Mrs.Wu," Irene brightly spoke to her before they said good-bye after the party, "I will make sure I keep Mr.Wu under my watch." 

Yue nodded, "I'll have faith in you then."

"Kyaaaaaaaaaak~~~! Oh my god!!! LOOK!!!!" Yue's excited voice rung the air in the lounge of Yue and Yifan's apartment. 

Both of them were sitting on the floor, with MinJun on a baby mat in the middle between the two of them. MinJun is now at 4 months old - the age when the babies start to roll over and lift their heads up while they are on their stomach, which is apparently a huge milestone for babies' parents. Yue vividly remembered Anna screaming down the phone as she video called her best friend to show how smart her baby to be rolling over and lifting the head at 3 months old. That was when Yue realized that her bestfriend and the husband needed to get out of their house instead of letting their lives revolve around all the time. 

That was also how MinJun ended up at Yue and Yifan's house for an evening while Anna and Kyungsoo went on a date night. 

That was also how Yue learned that having a baby in the house is such an exciting turn of events while having a lot of responsibilities. Nevertheless, it was fun having the baby over since she and Yifan took turns in taking care of the baby's need as they moved about in their evening routine - feeding him, cleaning him, playing with him, lying on their stomachs to talk to MinJun in his own baby language while they familiarized themselves with assortments of toys MinJun owns. Yue couldn't help but fawn over how Yifan seemed very familiar with the routine of taking care of a baby. 

"You look very experienced, Mr.Wu," Yue as he cradled MinJun in his arms to let make him burp so that that baby didn't throw up the milk he just drank, while she washed the milk bottle in the sink.

Yifan gave a meaningful look in her direction, as if to say 'I know where you are going' but he casually acted nonchalant, "I have a lot of experiences with the baby. I used to volunteer at an orphanage when I was in university." 

"Now that is new," Yue muttered as she dried the bottle with a cloth. Yifan nodded and gently patted MinJun's back as he had now fallen asleep on Yifan, with his face planting side-way on his shoulder. The whole scene made him look even more like a father than he already looked the whole evening. Yue couldn't help but melt a little inside as she watched Yifan slowly pacing back and forth in the lounge in leisurely strides with MinJun on his shoulder from her seat on the sofa. 

Ding~dong~ 

"Oh~! Mama is here..." Yue spoke in a sing-song voice and opened the door for her best friend couple. The couple quickly came into the apartment and saw their baby asleep on Yifan. Both of them broke out into adorable awww's as they saw the scene in front of them, which made Yifan flush and carefully transferred the baby back into Kyungsoo's hands. Anna and Kyungsoo didn't stay for long, saying that they didn't want to bother Yue and Yifan as they had done so much for them by looking after MinJun for an evening while they went out to enjoy themselves.

Yifan flopped himself onto the sofa with his arms and legs stretched out. "This is so tiring~!"

"But it was fun, wasn't it?" Yue took her seat beside him as she pulled her legs up and curled into a little ball. Habitually, his arms enveloped her as he pulled her into a hug. He didn't say anything but nodded. "Wouldn't you like one of your own?" Yue asked again hesitantly. This time she was really hoping that he would say yes.

He didn't answer instantly, "Only when you are ready, Yue darling. Only when you are ready. It's a huge responsibility and I think we ." He spoke slowly after thinking for some time.

Yue frowned. She wanted him to say yes but it looked like he doesn't want a child of his own.

"So you are moping because you think your husband doesn't want a child?" Anna spoke as she pulled away a towel away from MinJun, who was attempting to eat the threads falling out from the ends. 

Yue didn't look up at her friend from her place, where she planted her face inbetween her arms in desperation, and nodded, obviously disappointed at her husband's response. "It's like he doesn't want a child...." 

"What did he say?" Anna's curious voice appeared. 

"He said," Yue sighed, "Only when you are ready..." and she lifted her head to place it on the kitchen table, where she was sitting and she started pouting while her facial expressions matched to that of a person who was visiting his friend on a death bed.

whack~! 

"OWH~!" Yue screamed, alerting MinJun, making him drop his milk bottle onto the floor. "What do you do that for?!" 

Anna kept quiet as she picked up the bottle from the floor and rinsed it before handing it back to MinJun, "Yue, I love you but you really are stupid sometimes."

Yue frowned and rubbed her head, where Anna hit her.

"Your husband is like the best husband ever!" Anna snapped, "He is letting you choose whatever you want to do and not put on his ideology on you. Would you rather have him say 'hey! let's have a baby!' and not consider how you really feel about it?"

Yue shrugged, "I kinda sorta..." Her eyes fell upon Anna's stern pair and quickly fixed, "Okay, no. That sounds terrible."

"See?" Anna put her arms in front of her, obviously irritated her best friend, "That is why I think he's amazing. And here you are whining about why your husband can't be a self-righteous ."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Yue apologized to her best friend in a soft voice.

"Stop being sorry. You've always told me how you want to be assertive and yet you can't do this."

"Do what?" Yue frowned and looked at her best friend, completely confused at what Anna was trying to say.

Anna rolled her eyes and slouched her shoulders in annoyance, "Tell your husband that you want to have a kid with him."

"Oh..." Yue hesitated, "That's a bit....embarrassing."

"If you're not going to do it yourself," Anna took out her mobile from her jeans pocket, "I'm going to dial your husband now and tell him you want a kid. Do you want this or tell him in person?"

"Okay. Fine fine fine. I'll tell him by myself."

"You go girlfriend~!" Anna smiled smugly.

The very same evening, Yue was sitting on the sofa in the lounge while Yifan was reading a book beside her, with his arms around her as usual. 

"Mr.Wu," she called his name hesitantly as she wrapped her arms around him and hid her face in his chest. 

"Hmmm?" he responded. 

"would it be too much if I say..." her voice only came out as a whisper, which got muffled by his shirt. 

"Yue darling, I can't hear. What are you trying to say?" 

She felt herself blushing and she hugged him even tighter and cleared as she plucked up her courage to say it out loud coherently, "I mean, I asked you whether you're ready for a child right?" her voice came out at a volume slightly higher than a whisper.

"Yeah?" his arms reached for his back and tried to peel her arms away gently but she hugged him even tighter, the attempt at which he gave up trying to pull her away.

"Are you ready? Because I think I am..." the last few words only came out as a whisper and her face felt like it was about to fall off in ashes from heating up too much. 

Yifan chuckled softly and she felt his chest rumbled gently. Then he reached for his back again to unwrap her arms, of which was a successful attempt. Yue didn't look at him but downwards, half of hers wanting to kill herself for saying something embarrassing and the other was mentally patting herself on the back for saying it out.

"Look at me." He murmured. She faced him with her eyes closed and one eye opened slightly to look at him while her face distorted as she was biting her bottom lips. He was looking at her, clearly amused at her reaction since a gentle smile adorned his face.

"Yue..." he chuckled, "Just how...cute can you be?" he let out a soft laughter, then he pulled her into a tight embrace, "If you are ready, then..." he paused shortly, "I am more than ready." 

Once again, she planted her face into his chest in embarrassment as she reciprocated his action. 

"Let's have a child." He whispered into her ear as he hugged her, his deep low whisper tickled her ear as he spoke in hushed tone, "I can't wait to start a small family with you." 

Yue doesn't know how one feels like when the heart stops functioning from extreme emotions but she was sure that her heart nearly stopped functioning for a few moments right then and there.

And also, you guys are so cute about how you don't want certain things and how you react to my (somewhat childish) plots. I find that extremely, extremely cute. I'll see you again soon. Might be some time later since I had been very, very, very busy again.
