Yo, Dancing Club members!

Guys... Don't fight for me!!!!

“Okay class, make sure you finish the task given in three days or you will have a date with Mr.Cha.” Miss.Kim said with her flat tone as her eyes were on me. The class, as always was as quiet as the graveyard. Even more quiet when she mentioned Mr.Cha’s name.

Mr.Cha was the discipline teacher. He was the first place in the ‘Scariest Teacher Ever’. Rumours said that he will be very kind, before he punished you both mental and physical. The students’ nightmare, the teachers’ saviour. I’ve never been called, yet.

Miss.Kim’s eyes were still on me. It looked like she wanted to send me to Mr.Cha when I skipped her class, but I thought it’s my luck – Mr.Cha was not in school at that time because he had to attend some discipline courses.

“Psst, Miss.Kim’s eyes are scary.” Hyo Min whispered. I just nodded, agreeing to her. We watched her as she stepped out of the class. As soon the door closed, all of us, the students let out relieved sighs. The class was filled with students’ chit-chat.

“Gosh, if not for Mr.Cha’s absence last time, I don’t think I’ll ever meet you girls again.” I said as I put the History books in my bag. Both Min Ji and Ji Hyun turned their chair to face us.

“God still loves you.” Ji Hyun simply said. Then we heard footsteps coming towards us. I looked up. It’s Ji Min. He looked shy. His eyes were looking at somewhere else.

“Yah, Min Ji. He’s looking for you.” I stated the obvious. Min Ji’s face flushed. So do Ji Min’s.

“You can even meet in class. I’m jealous.” Ji Hyun and Hyo Min said in unison. They looked at each other and laughed. Ji Min stood beside us.

“Um… C-ca-can I-” Ji Min stutter was cut by Hyo Min sternly saying, “What is it?”

The poor boy was at loss of words. Ji Hyun and I laughed and told him, he can’t.” I don’t know what he wanted but we’re just said that he couldn’t. This is fun!

“It’s Eun Ae. You know that we had training afterschool, right? Ho Seok-hyung wants us to be on time.” Ji Min said and rushed to his seat again, leaving all of us dumbfounded, especially me.

“Look what you have done!” Min Ji broke the silence enveloping us. “He’s embarrassed! Thanks, my dear besties…” She continued and turned in front, showing us her back. Ji Hyun, as always with her motherly instinct turned in front and started to persuade the sulking maknae.

“Look what you have done!” Hyo Min said with a low voice to me, imitating Min Ji. I didn’t reply her but just cast a glance towards somewhere else.

“Don’t say that!?” Hyo Min, still with her hushed voice, made me shocked. I asked her about it and she replied, “It couldn’t be… That Ji Min is falling for you?”

Why did I felt like I wanted to strangle her? Instead, I slapped her arm, making her winced a bit.

“Ha. Ha. Ha. There’s no way. If you want to tell me about our similarity, I’ve never been his partner. Besides, we were always dancing in group of six or more.” I said, referring to Ji Min and my similarity, which was we are the member of the school Dancing Club. Then, I continued, “Maybe Ho Seok-sunbae forgets to tell me so he asks Ji Min, who happen to be in the same class as me, to tell me about being on time. Full stop.”

Before Hyo Min could say anything, the teacher came.

Yes, Ji Min and I would talk sometimes. We can be super close and also, super distant. It’s just that we’re not that talkative when we’re outside the dancing room. We were always the louder ones when we were with the Dancing Club members. In fact, all of Dancing Club members were the noisy ones. It’s just that… Stop it, I don’t know how to explain it. Focus to the teacher, won’t you, Kim Eun Ae?

AFTERSCHOOL

I quickly packed my table and bag soon after the teacher left. I said my goodbye to my friends and sorry to Min Ji, I rushed out of the class. Without me knowing, Ji Min also rushed out after saying his sorry to Min Ji and caught up to me.

“Could you please slow down?” Ji Min said between his breath as he caught up to my fast pace. Pitying him, I slowed down.

“What is it?” I asked. Both of us were now walking leisurely towards our locker to keep our things.

“Nothing.” He simply said and went to his locker while I went to mine. I putted my books in there. Then we walked together again.

“Did you really want on inform me about this training or talk to Min Ji?” I asked. Curiosity got the best of me. Silence. I looked at him. His face was red. I couldn’t help but to laugh at his awkwardness.

“Of course I wanted to talk to her! Aish! Three of you are annoying!” Ji Min snapped while he stomped his feet on the floor. This time, I really laughed like crazy until I had to hold my stomach. He asked me, “By the way, when do Min Ji starts having crush on me?”

I told him to asked Min Ji but he said that Min Ji wouldn’t tell him. So, I decided to tell him.

FLASHBACK

I was packing my bag after the dance training when I realized that I left my mp3. Min Ji was in front of me, also packing her bag. She stayed at school because of the Drama Club meeting.

“Min Ji-yah, I want to go the dancing room. I left my mp3.” I said as I moved towards the door. Min Ji stopped packing and went to me.

“Wait! Let’s go together! I’m scared being alone in this class. Ji Hyun told me it was haunted.” She whined as she tagged along behind me. I chuckled.

“It will be haunted if you believe them. Besides, all those ghosts will only come out when it’s nightfall.” I said. Aish, Lee Ji Hyun, do you have to scare her?

We walked along the quiet corridor until we were a few steps away from the dancing room which was located at the end of the corridor. That’s when it happened.

Soft music came out from distance. Min Ji shrieked as she got closer to me, and warped her arms around mine. However, that didn’t stop me from walking towards the dancing room. As the sound was getting louder, Min Ji tightened her hold on me.

“It came from the dancing room. There might be someone in there.” I stopped walking. Min Ji still looked terrified.

“W-w-well, Ji Hyun said that the dancing room was haunted.” Min Ji stuttered. Geez, Ji Hyun and her never ending ghost stories made me annoyed.

“FYI, every place, every corner of this school is haunted according to Ji Hyun. Tell me the ghost story of the dancing room, then.” I asked her. We could still hear the soft music.

“Well, there was once, a kid named Do Young Bae. He’s the same as us – a sophomore. He always stayed afterschool and danced in that very dancing room.” Min Ji dramatically paused as she pointed towards the dancing room not far from us. She gulped her saliva as she continued, “One day, while he was practicing his dancing skills, a guard entered the room. He, at first didn’t pay attention to the guard since he knew that the guard would always do the check up.”

“Just continue without a dramatic stop, please.” I said as I was getting impatient.

“Without him knowing, the real guard that was supposed on duty was busy doing his business in the toilet. The guard that he met was actually a psychotic killer. He would kill anyone he met. So, that poor boy was killed brutally while he was dancing. Blood splattered everywhere in the room. Since then, we can hear some music playing afterschool. It was said that it was Do Young Bae’s spirit, dancing.” Min Ji finished. While her face looked like she was about to cry, I’m standing right beside her, laughing like crazy.

“Oh yeah? Let’s go catch this so-called ghost.” I sarcastically said as I walked towards the dancing room with Min Ji behind me. Both of us stopped in front of the door and peeked through the small round window on the door.

END OF FLASHBACK

“That’s how she fell for me?” Ji Min asked as if he couldn’t believe it. I just nodded to his words. Then, he let out a soft chuckle, commenting that Min Ji was cute.

“Yes, she is. If you ever made her cries, you should know that Ji Hyun is a black belt holder of Karate while Hyo Min is the black belt holder of Taekwondo. So, it’s like you’re digging your own grave.” I simply ‘threaten’ him. His handsome face lost its colour. He nodded a few times. Just like that, we reached the dancing room.

As we’re entering the room, he asked, “I wonder if that is real?”

“What is real?” Someone asked from inside the room. It’s Lee Byung Hyun, or better known as L.Joe. Another sophomore, I should say.

Ji Min and I went over to him. He was stretching but seeing us walking towards him, he stopped and bumped fist with us. Ji Min told him the story when we sat.

“Let’s stay tonight! Who knows if Young Bae would show up?” L.Joe said enthusiastically made both Ji Min and I stared at him. Still with his innocent face, he asked, “What? Don’t you want to confirm it too?”

“We do but if you want to do it tonight, you have to do it alone. I’ve got tons of homeworks waiting for me.” I said to him. As for Ji Min, he refused because, “I promised Min Ji to call her tonight and my phone had just died. I need to recharge it at home.”

Lol, Ji Min. Just said it out aloud that you were scared. L.Joe , telling him that he will tell Min Ji about his weakness. Both of them got into quarrel. I couldn’t help but to interfered.

“Guys, do that husband-wife quarrel somewhere else. This is dancing room. I repeat, DANCING ROOM. Plus, I can text her right now if I want to.” I joked as I acted to type something on my smartphone. Ji Min tried to snatch the phone but I kept it to my chest. He showed me his puppy eyes – as if pleading for me not to tell Min Ji.

“Omo, Oppa! You’re cute! Stay still, I’m taking a picture!” I acted as a fan girl of him and snapped a picture of him with the puppy eyes. Feeling embarrassed, he turned to look other way, making L.Joe and I laughed.

“Aish! Where’s Ho Seok-hyung? He’s the one that wanted us to be early yet he was nowhere to be found!” Ji Min asked, trying to change the topic. As for L.Joe, he didn’t stop laughing until a few minutes later.

“Yah! I asked you to came early not for you to have a chit-chat! Ppalli, stretch yourself! We’ll be perfecting the choreography today!” Another voice heard from the entrance along with some other voices that were giggling. It was Ho Seok-sunbae and the rest of the members.

Ji Min, L.Joe and I stood up at once and started stretching ourselves while the others got into the room. As I stretched myself, L.Joe walked over to me.

“Yah, did you remember the step after this?” L.Joe asked about the dance. Over these two months, we had been learning the same choreography, which was IYAH, by the group idol BOYFRIEND. We were supposed to perform during the school’s annual festival.

“Like this.” I said as I showed to him the steps. He followed and thanked me.

“No wonder if we call you the Dancing Copycat. You really live up to your name.” He teased, making me slightly blushed. I lifted my feet, saying, “Want to taste the strength of my feet?” He shook his head at once, held two palms together as sign of asking for forgiveness.

“Your majesty, I ask for forgiveness from you, as I had hurt your heart.” He dramatically said with his famous cute face. Mind you, Dancing Club members were quite famous in the school.

Ah, those puppy eyes always made me forgave him. I played along to the ‘drama’, saying, “Fine, your sins are forgiven.”

We played the drama a little bit before Ho Seok-sunbae came towards us, saying, “This is the DANCING CLUB, not the DRAMA CLUB. You should practice dancing instead of practicing those drama lines.”

All of us laughed before we started getting into formations and danced.
