After awhile, Daesung lifted his chin off Chaerin's head and wiped off his tears.

 
He put his hands on Chaerin's shoulder and pushed her away from him so that he could look at her.

He wiped off the glistening tears that were still flowing from her eyes and ruffled her hair.

"Oppa" Chaerin called softly.

"Mhm?" Daesung replied with his lips together.

"Jiyong oppa...did he broke up with me because of Hyori sunbaenim? " Chaerin asked softly, recalling Jiyong's outburst.

Daesung couldn't speak for a moment and he felt the rush of tears coming back again. 

"Er-I am not sure about that. Chaerin-ah, there's some things we have to accept in life. That some people are not meant to be 

together..." his words faded off when he was reminded of an incident a few years back.

"Dae, no point crying over that b*tch. You deserve much better." Hyori ruffled his brown hair and rested her head on Daesung's

shoulders.

" Noo...you will never understand." Daesung said as fresh tears poured out of his small eyes

. 
"YAH! What do you mean I would never understand? You wanna die?" Hyori said jokingly, trying ways and means to cheer up her

favourite dongsaeng.

When she got no reply from Daesung, she breathed into his hair and softly told him " Dae, listen to me. There are some things we have

to accept in life. That sometimes people are just not meant to be together."

"Bu-but, I just can't forget her. What did I do wrong? Why did she dump me?" Daesung said in between sobs.

" It's not your fault you fool~ you just have to let her go if you really love her. Because thats what makes her happy...get it? Don't dwell

 on it too much." Hyori comforted him.

She slowly lifted Daesung's head and wiped off his tears. "Shh..dont cry anymore" she whispered as she drawed circles on his back,

comforting him.

Daesung was snapped back from his past memories when Chaerin shouted his name.

"Huhh? Why?" Daesung asked her.

"Oppa, you are crying...what happened?" Chaerin asked him with concern oozing out of her every word.

"It's nothing. Just that this place is really dusty and all, making my eyes tear." Daesung said, pretending to brush off some dust from his

eyes.

"Oh..."

Just then, the door burst open and the bigbang members flooded in. "Oh Chaerin, you are here already?" Seungri asked her

.

"Daesung oppa just had an operation, I'm here to take care of him." Chaerin replied, trying to make her voice sound as normal as

possible.

"How did you know about Daesung hyung? And thanks for telling our manager Chaerin ah." Seungri said.

If not for her, the manager would not even know where Daesung is.

"Hyung, are you alright? I'm sorry I couldn't be there to protect you." The maknae said, tears welling up in his eyes, as he stared at the

white bandages around Daesung's body.

"What's wrong with you Seunghyun ah" Daesung smiled at the cute maknae and pinched his cheek.

"Oh where is Jiyong hyung? He said he's coming to the hospital earlier on..." Seungri asked Daesung. 

"He came in just now but he left because he had something on." Daesung replied softly.

"What?! Is anything more important than our dongsaeng? Pfft...that jerk" Top said in a jokingly-angry tone. He sat down next to

Daesung and asked him softly "Did you hear about what happened to those apparent kidnappers? "

"Uh-nope. Are they ...alright?" Daesung asked Top.

" They got killed when their van exploded. And about the staff members, they escaped unharmed." Top told Daesung carefully.

" They died?! Ohmygosh.." Daesung's voice trailed off. 

He vividly remember hearing an explosion.

So that was it.

"Hyung...how is Hyori noona?" Daesung asked Taeyang.

"Yah! You haven't go and see her yet? She would be so sad." Taeyang punched Daesung's arm, forgetting that it was in bandages and

Daesung ended up groaning in pain.

"Gosh, Im so sorry!"Taeyang screamed.

"Go and see her Daesung ah. Even your hyungs have went to see her. She havent woken up yet but she have pulled through the

critical stage." Top said, making Daesung stand up. 

"Chaerin ah, you wanna come along?" Taeyang said as the rest of the bigbang members prepared to go out.

"No! Let her stay here and rest ! " Daesung said, even before Chaerin could say anything. The 3 other members looked at him with a

weird expression and knowing how weird he sounded, he said "uhm...right Chaerin?" 

Chaerin smiled, knowing his intentions and said to the others " I am tired. I can stay here. You guys go ahead."

The three members surrounded Daesung, worried that Daesung might hit the corners of doors or other sharp corners.

"Oh- Jiyong Hyung! Why didn't you go in to visit Daesung Hyung? What are you doing...inside Hyori noona's ward?" Seungri asked

and looked at the leader with bewildered eyes when they opened the doors of Hyori's ward.

" uh-uh I just came in.." Jiyong stuttered. He did not expect the members to arrive so quickly.

He should have known how important Daesung was in their hearts.

"It should be Daesung's job-" Top glared at Jiyong. He was about to say more about how it is not right to be alone with their brother's

girlfriend when Daesung spoke up.

"No..Hyung, it's not my job any longer.." Daesung held the sleeve of Top and turned to look at Jiyong for a moment before turning away.

The members took a moment before the words sank in. They thought it was a joke and wanted to laugh about how good an actor

Daesung was but judging by Daesung's grim expression, they all just kept quiet.

Daesung bit his lips and inched closer to Hyori's face. 

He whispered " Noona, about the thing you said to me few years back...you were telling me something right? That I shouldn't be a hindrance to you. Please wake up okay? Jiyong hyung will take good care of you.."

Tears welled up in his small eyes and a single teardrop landed on Hyori's cheek.

He stood back up and wiped the tears in his eyes.

Daesung took one last and long look at Hyori.

The bandages around her, and the pink wounds on her face that the bandage didn't cover and the beeping of the machine indicating

her heartbeat.

He smiled and said softly to the other three members " I'm going back to my room. I want to have some time alone. So go back and

rest. Don't worry about me."

"Ye-yes hyung. Take care." The maknae replied, trying to hold himself back from asking the questions that were about to overflow his

brain.

"Daesung ah, do you need us to send you back to the ward? " Taeyang asked, staring at the amount of bandages Daesung had

around his body.

" Nah it's okay hyung. I can manage myself. Go back early and have a good rest." Daesung smiled and slowly limped back to his

ward.
