Jung Daehyun was famous.  As the powerful vocal of a rapidly rising new boy-group, he had the world in the palm of his hands.  His talent was finally being acknowledged and he was on top of the world.

Until he came crashing down in a freak car accident.  With no other choice, the doctors damaged his vocal chords.  They saved his life... but destroyed his future.

Author's notes:

A quick DaeJae one-shot!  As you've probably guessed, this will be angst-ridden and seriously depressing.  I derived this story from real events that happened to Super Junior's Kyuhyun.  For those of you that don't know, Kyuhyun was involved in a serious car accident shortly after debut.  At the time, the doctors saw no other way to save his life other than to puncture his throat and draw out the bleeding.  It would have destroyed his future as a singer (that boy has an amazing voice).  To save his future, Kyuhyun's father refused to let them puncture his throat.  Luckily, a veteran doctor found another way and saved his life.  Kyuhyun revealed this amazing story on an episode of Strong Heart.  

I saw this story years ago but never thought to write about it.  I got wondering the other day (while I was on the can, I'll admit it) what would happen if Daehyun lost his voice.  He is a pillar in terms of vocals for BAP and he is extremely proud of his voice.  So what would happen to someone when they lose the one thing they treasured the most about themselves?  Stories always have conflict; this time, Daehyun's conflict is internal.
