Miyoung's POV

Finally, after few years of living in America, I’m coming back home in Korea. Can you believe that? My hard work has finally paid off. With all the money I’ve saved from my salary, I have been able to buy this plane ticket I’ve been wishing for.

It's been a while since I last saw my family back there and I miserably miss them. I am so excited to see them again, even though they might feel the opposite of what I am feeling right now.

You see, I’ve been living by myself here in America for about 3 years now, with a little help from my aunt. She was my only family who helped me during those awful days when my mum didn't want me around (If I could get it right, I was around 8 years old at that time). Of course it was a struggle for me to move to another country, especially seeing Minwoo, my dongsaeng, crying and begging for me to stay. But I had no choice. My OWN mother didn't want me inside our house. Luckily, I have my aunt who happily took me with open arms and treated me like her own daughter. She helped me in every way she can and raised me into what I am right now. Feeling a little confident and independent, I decided to get my own job in a little cafe at the age of 15. After a little while, I moved in a small apartment with my best friend Hyerin and lived there up until now. I kinda felt bad leaving her behind since we've been together for quite a long time already. I asked her for a few times if she's going to be alright without me by her side but she kept on saying that she'll be.

"Hyerin-unnie, are you sure you're gonna be fine being alone?" I asked her for the umpteenth time. I looked at her worriedly, waiting for her to answer. We are now here at the airport, waiting for my flight number to be called. My aunt stayed at home since she didn't want me to see her cry. She knows me really well. She knows that I truly hate seeing people cry or fight over me.

"Yah Park Mia! Don't call me that! If you wouldn't stop asking me with your silly questions, I suggest you stay right here." Hyerin answered and crossed her arms across her chest as she closed her eyes. Cute ^^

I giggled at her cuteness. I just made her feel old. She hates being older than me. I looked down to my feet and let out a sigh. Now I felt guilty for what I did. Aish. What am I doing? I should be happy right now. I will be able to see my beloved dongsaeng in a few hours from now! Suddenly, I heard my flight number being called.

I looked up and caught Hyerin peeking at me with her left eye open. "Aww..." She squealed then hugged me tightly. "Even though you're a little bit annoying, I will miss you heaps!" she said and tightened the hug.

I was a little bit surprised with her actions but I hugged her back, letting her sweet smell run through my nose for the last time. I would totally miss this girl. That's for sure. "Of course you'll miss me! I always cook food for you remember?" I said and let out a smile.

"Yah, promise me that you'll never forget me and our friendship. Promise me that you'll always update me with what's happening to you back there. Promise me that this Mia standing in front of me will never change. And lastly," She said while pulling away from the hug. She then looked deeply into my eyes with her with her warm brown orbs full of excitement. Seriously, there's a last one? "Promise me that I’d be the first person you would call when you see SHINee in person. Especially Lee Taemin." Pft. As if I would meet those idols for real.

"Neh." I answered then chuckled. "I promise."

She smiled back at me with her eyes starting to tear up. "Take care of yourself."

"Neh. Annyeong, Kim Hyerin." I said and hugged her for one last time. At that very moment, I felt like crying. But I held it in. I want this special moment to be memorable without any of my tears being shed.

"You know I hate people using my whole name." She said and hugged me back, letting a single tear slid down her face. "Annyeong."
